Chapter 59 Chapter 59
Of course, this was a ridiculous idea. How could she think that two men mated to her would want to share her? It was selfish of her to even suggest it.
Foolish.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
A rough hand grazed over her cheek softly, pulling her out of her spiral. Her eyes met with swirls of ocean blue, and she placed her hand over his.
Reynard smiled. “You know I would do anything for you, Ki. I would lay down my life if it meant your safety and happiness were secure. If this is what you want, I’m willing to try.”
She smiled up at him, but before she could speak, she felt the cold echoes of Brendan’s presence behind her; even so, his presence brought warmth to her.
“For you, love,” Brendan’s voice was a husky whisper, “I’ll try too. I’d do anything for you, I want nothing but your happiness.”
Her smile faded into a more relaxed and innocent expression. Reynard’s hand was still holding her face, and Brendan’s hands grazed over her hips. A small gasp escaped her mouth as she realised she was wedged between her two mates.
Their hold on her wasn’t tight or trapping. She could escape if she wanted to, but that was her problem – she didn’t want to. She was exactly where she wanted to be.
“Are you ready?” Rey whispered.
Her eyes flickered wider as she inhaled sharply. “You want to try right now?”
“We might as well, love,” Brendan uttered, brushing his lip against her ear. “We’re both here.”
“Your father is away, and the house workers are finished for the day. It’s just us…” Reynard glanced down at her neck and back into her eyes.
A lump formed in her throat. This was exactly what Suki wanted, but the suddenness of their agreeing and being willing to do it right away, it awakened a fear in her – what if it didn’t work and she lost one of them, or both? Better yet, what if it did work?
Her mind was on the verge of spiralling again.
Sensing this, Reynard chimed in, “You can change your mind. We can wait a day or two, as long as you need. There’s no rush.”
“No pressure, love,” Brendan added.
The feeling of both of them being so close made her cheeks flush, the heat travelling down her body. Her chest rose and fell with her heavy breaths. “No,” she whispered. “I can’t wait anymore, I want this. I want both of you. I choose both of you.”
Rey sighed, “Just know if it doesn’t work…”
“It’ll work,” she protested.
“If it doesn’t,” Brendan continued for Reynard. “Know that we both love you.”
“Yeah.” Rey smiled. “We do.”
Suki’s heart fluttered.
Her mates looked at one another and nodded once before glancing down at her neck. They both inched closer before Suki began stuttering over her words.
“W-Wait!” Her breathing hitched. “Do you think… Is it going to hurt?” She glanced back to look at Brendan, then turned straight to meet Rey’s eyes.
Brendan brushed his lips up her neck, moving up to her ear, “It’ll be sharper than all of the other bites I’ll give you after we’re done.”
“Smooth, Brendan, very subtle.” Reynard rolled his eyes.
Smirking, Brendan tilted his head slightly. “As if you haven’t imagined biting and licking her all over. I know you’re not as much of a good boy as you present yourself to be.”
He rolled his eyes again, curling his lips into a displeased look. Moving his gaze back to Suki, he reassured her gently, “It’ll probably hurt a little, just for a minute or two, but your healing will kick in, and it’ll be like it never happened.”
She swallowed and spoke with a shaky voice, “All right, I-I’m ready.”
Gripping onto her hips, Brendan hummed, “Last chance to back out, love.”
“No.” She shook her head. “No more backing out, no more fear.”
Reynard dragged his hand down her face and traced a finger over the flesh of her neck, which looked more exposed than ever. “We don’t have to mark you here if you don’t want it. We could do your wrist or your leg, or–”
“Careful, Mr Perfect, or I might judge you even more than I already do,” Brendan titted.
Darting a glare his way, Rey huffed, “I was going to say an unexposed area, in case it leaves a scar for a little while.”
“It won’t,” Brendan exhaled.
Suki giggled, “I don’t think your bickering will ever end.”
“It’s a package deal, love.” He winked.
She rolled her eyes and giggled again. Her face relaxed again at realising she still had a decision to make. “Um… I think the neck is best, you both can access it easily at the same time.”
Brendan and Reynard exchanged another look, preparing themselves on the sides of her neck they were ready to mark.
“Ready?” Brendan asked.
Reynard nodded. “Let’s do this.”
“At the exact same time,” Suki added, sternly.
Brendan’s hands moved lower down her body and back up to stop at her waist. “So demanding…” he hummed. Brushing his lip against her ear, he whispered, “Count it down for us, baby.”
Releasing a jagged exhale, she nodded. “From three, after one you both bite, got it?”
“Yes, love.”
Reynard held her chin and examined the beauty of her face so carefully, as if it were the last time he was ever going to see it. He dragged his thumb across her lower lip. “Got it,” he spoke in his deep, gentle and comforting tone.
“Everything will be fine,” she whispered.
Reynard nodded. Suki could tell he was nervous. They both were.
They all were.
Suki sighed, “Okay. Three…”
The men positioned themselves at her neck.
“…Two…”
They both summoned their fangs.
With a hitched breath, she exhaled, “…One.”
Their mouths landed on her neck, and they clamped down hard. Suki’s eyes widened, and she let out an audibly loud gasp as the pain of immense binding magic surged through her.
