Scarlynn Escaped From Prison

Scarlynn Escaped From Prison
Scarlett’s point of view

I stilled on the ground, Scarlynn’s words kept on ringing in my ears like a horror music was playing repeatedly without stopping, my brain has gone completely blank, I highly doubt it is working anymore.

No matter what happens, I can't give Asher children but she can. She can give him something I can't give him no matter how much I want to, and one way or the other, he was going to realize someday and leave me.

My lungs constricted, making it hard for me to breathe freely at the thought of it. I'm not ready to lose him, not when I've seen the glimpse of what it is like to live with him, of the happiness he brings in my life, and how I feel complete with him in my life. I can't imagine my life any other way. I wanted him to be with me.

I feel tears streaming down my cheeks, leaving a warm sensation on my skin. Why can't Scarlynn ever let me be happy? I deserve this happiness too, don't I?

I feel my knees buckling, I collapse onto the ground, my breath restricting with each passing second. I couldn't breathe no matter how much I'm trying.

“Sweetheart...” I hear Asher’s voice calling out to me, his footsteps rushing inside the room. He held my shoulder as he lowered himself to me. “Scarlett, what happened, why are you crying, my love?” His brows knitted together, worry evident on his face.

“I... I'm not feeling okay...” My voice broke, my body shook with each sob, sadness wrapped around me like a blanket, so warm and comforting like it was the only friend I had.

Asher pulled me into his firm embrace, pulling me closer to him, his arms wrapping tightly around me. My sobs echoed inside the kitchen.

“Scarlett, please tell me what's wrong with my love?” Asher pulled me out of his embrace, he cupped my teary face, making me look into his eyes. “Tell me what happened? Did Sara do something to you?” His voice was now laced with worry.

“Scarlynn...” I managed to say, my breath now ragged. “She wants you back, she will do everything to have you back. She can give you something I can't give you__ One day you'd realize just how worthless I am and you'd leave me for her. I'd be left alone. I won't be able to bear the pain, Asher__ I can't bear it.” My throat constricted, sending a sharp pain cutting through.

Asher exhaled heavily. “Scarlett, I'm not a little boy anymore, and I won't go back on my decision because of someone's obsession. You are my present, my future, and my forever because I chose you, Scarlett. Don't listen to what she's saying.”

Asher used his thumb to brush away the tears from my face, his eyes softening as they locked with mine. “She knows that this topic is your weakness, and she's using it to break you.” His voice is soft as our gaze meets. “Don't give her the satisfaction of seeing you breaking down. You are stronger than this,
Scarlett, and so what if you can't have children. There are many other ways for us to become parents, but now we won't talk about it. We just got married, and this is the time for us to love each other and think about it later, okay?”

I nodded my head, not uttering a word. His words had somehow made me feel better. His assurance seemed like everything I needed to hear, but the lingering fear was still there, deep within me.

“I love you, Scarlett, so much that the thought of being with another woman who isn't you feels like a sin, and for the first time in my life, I'm scared to commit the sin of breaking your heart ever.” I wrapped my arms around him, he pulled me closer to him, closing the little distance between us, feeling his warmth against me.

“The thought of losing you is so scary, Asher... I do not want a life without you in it. I won't be able to do it.” My voice cracked with emotions, fear, depression, and anxiety. I just wanted him to tell me he won't ever leave me, and I'd feel better.

Asher scooped me into his arms, and he rose from the ground. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he made his way out of the house. As we reached outside, the guard opened the door for us, and he gently made me sit on the seat next to the driver's seat. He walked around the car, settling in, he started the engine and drove off.

I didn't even ask where we were going. He placed his hand on my thighs, stroking me gently beneath my jeans. I placed my hand on top of his. I didn't tell him about what Scarlynn said about Sara. I'd gather evidence against her and throw her out of our lives for good.

“I love you...” Asher whispered, his voice barely above a whisper, my lips twisting into a smile, my eyes not leaving his.

The sound of Asher’s phone ringing echoed inside the car. I grabbed it on the handle, I answered it and put it on the loudspeaker.

“Sir, Scarlynn has escaped from prison, and she's nowhere to be found. The police are looking for her all over.” My breath caught in my throat as James’s words echoed over the phone, my heart began racing against my chest.

“How the heck did that happen?” Asher’s jaws tensed as he spoke through his gritted teeth. My pulse was now strained against my skin, it felt as though time had stopped completely. Scarlynn knew what she was talking about, and that's why she made that phone call. I'm not scared of her, to be honest, but I'm scared of losing Asher in the process. I can't lose him. The moment I lose him, I'd lose my sanity.
