Scarlynn’s Threat

Scarlynn’s Threat
Scarlett’s Point of View

My hands crossed over my chest, my gaze sharp as they locked on Asher, waiting for him to react to the situation. He better use his two cents because if he doesn't, I'm walking out of this door without a second thought.

“Asher, I was just making your favorite breakfast, but your wife chased me out of her kitchen. What did I do wrong?” Sara’s body shook with each ragged sob, each breath catching in her throat.

I rolled my eyes, annoyed. One thing is for sure, I know I'm right. Any woman in my place could have done the same thing, and I'm not changing my decision.

Asher pulled Sara out of his embrace, walked over to me, his arms wrapped around my waist, both of us now facing Sara.

She wiped her tears, her brows furrowed in confusion.

Asher cleared his throat. “Sara, look. I allowed you to stay here for a few days because you said you can't stay alone. I did it because I know you, but understand that Scarlett is my wife. If she says something in this house, you have to listen to her. If you can't, you are welcome to leave, but I won't stand to watch my wife being disrespected in her own house.” Asher’s voice was flat, with no emotions in it.

Sara’s face paled, but she managed to mask it with a smile. “I'm so sorry, Scarlett. I will not do anything that you do not like.” She muttered, without staying for another second, she turned and rushed upstairs.

I turned to Asher, wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands slid to my waist, pulling me closer to his chest, our eyes meeting.

“Thank you.” I placed a soft kiss on his lips, my face upturned.

He chuckled, displaying a wide grin, his lips brushing against mine. “I love to see this possessive side of yours. It makes me want to make love to you and make you scream my name all night long.”

My breath quickened, butterflies fluttering their wings in my belly, his words caressing my skin. “Then why aren't you making love to me?” My voice was barely above a whisper, my eyes locking with his.

His face tightened, his eyes now dark with lust. I swallowed, taking a deep breath.

“Fuck no, Scarlett. I can't make love to you. As much as I want to, you are my wife, and I respect you a lot. I'd rather make love to you.” His breath was ragged, his lips brushing against mine but without kissing.

A warmth spread through my chest, my heart swelling with affection. This man was my husband. He loved me, respects me, and can do anything for me. Sara thought I'd let her snatch him away from me. There's no way I'd allow that to happen.

“I don't want you to make love to me, Asher. I want you to fuck me very hard so that I'd scream only your name. I don't mind if you make me your little dirt slut because for you, I can be anything.” My eyes were on his, my fingers now tracing the line of his shirt where two of the buttons were left open.

His breath caught in his throat, his eyes dark with lust and desires. Unexpectedly, he placed a kiss on my lips.

“It's so unfortunate that I have to go to the office. But anyways, I'd come back and fulfill your fantasy.” He said before he turned and left the kitchen.

I blinked as my eyes followed his gaze before a chuckle escaped my lips.

The sound of my phone ringing pierced the air, snapping me out of my thoughts. I yanked it out of my pocket, my brows furrowed to see an unknown number flashing on the screen. I pressed the button, lifted the phone to my ear.

“Scarlett Blackwood…” I felt my body rooted on the ground, each of my muscles freezing at the sound of Scarlynn’s voice over the phone.

“What do you want?” My jaws clenched, my heart pounding against my chest.

She burst into laughter, the sound echoing in my ears that I had to move the phone away from my ears for a few seconds before I put it back.

“You think you've won, huh?” Her voice was laced with bitterness. My heart raced to a point I felt a sharp pain cutting through my chest. I opened my mouth to speak, but my words were trapped in my throat. I couldn't utter a word.

“Asher belongs to me, Scarlett, and I won't let you have him. I've sent Sara to your house. She's going to turn your life into a living hell, and Asher is going to leave you and come back to me. Just wait and watch.” Scarlynn said, followed by her laughter that echoed on my phone, but this time I didn't move it away from my ears.

My limbs shook, I exhaled deeply, trying to pull myself together.

I'm not scared of her. She can't scare me at all! I chanted the words in my ears again and again before I gathered the courage to speak.

“Scarlynn, at this point in your life, you need Jesus.” I began, trying to control the racing of my heartbeat. “He's the only one who can save you because I truly pity you. Imagine you pushed me to your husband as a part of your sick game, but we fell in love instead, and now we are happily married. Do you think your little tricks will destroy us or separate us?” It was my turn to laugh. “You are already too late, my dear. We are deep, and nothing can separate us.”

Scarlynn scoffed, her voice lacing with rage. “But you can't give him children, and as far as I remember, Asher loves kids a lot. When I get pregnant with his child, he'd realize just how worthless you are, and he'd come back to me. Like always, you'd be left alone, and I will have the last laugh.” Her words kept echoing in my ears.

I felt a sudden coldness that hit my core. My mouth fell open, I tried to speak, but I couldn't. The phone slipped out of my hand, falling on the ground, the sound of it shattering on the ground echoed.

She's right. I may try to deny it, but it was true. One day he'd realize that I'm worthless and leave me for good.
