Chapter 78: Love is blind

Logan’s pov

“What brings you here?” I asked her and she looked at me.

“Can we please talk privately?” she asked, and I looked around.

What is it that she could probably want to say?

Does she want us to kill Reene again?

She wanted to stop her from coming back to the living.

“Okay then, please lets go to my office. Have someone bring us something to drink” I said to Amy, and she nodded.

We went to my office, after we sat down I looked at her.

“Marcus is a ruthless man” was the first thing she said as I chuckled at this.

“You mean the man you married and had a child with?” I asked her and she sighed.

“You cant control who you fall in love with. Marcus is only proof that love can be blind at times, I do love him a lot which is why I married him” she said and then her eyes landed on the wedding picture of me and Reene.

“You understand that better than anyone. Everyone called you ruthless as well, I have heard all about you. The things you did to stay alive and the people you killed” she said and then took the picture frame.

She then turned it around and showed it to me.

“But look at that, the way Reene is looking at you” she said and then put the picture down.

“She loved you despite finding out all the darkness and experiencing it first-hand.

But if you had planned to destroy the world, don’t you think that Reene would have stopped you?” she asked, and I nodded.

“Yes she would have stopped me, the first thing she asked when she first came here was that as long as we are linked I shouldn’t kill anyone” I replied, and she smiled.

“Now its time to stop her, Reene is going to destroy our world as we know it” she said, and I frowned at this.

“What do you mean? What are you talking about? Why would Reene destroy our world?” I asked her.

“When I was pregnant with Reene a seer told me that I was carrying a destroyer.

Marcus convinced me that she was somewhat crazy” she said and then scoffed.

“But after that more and more people kept telling the same thing.

Eventually Marcus opened up and told me the truth.

He can see the future, the same way he saw us getting together.

He also watched as our daughter destroyed our world as we know it. He saw what he called a perfect world” she explained.

“Destroy our world, a perfect world?

This doesn’t make sense at all.

This is Reene we are talking about; she can’t even harm an ant” I said, and she nodded.

“Really?

weren’t you there when she killed that girl?

She killed her in the most brutal way possible.

Everything was nothing but an arranged plan” she said.

“Lucas used all of you when Reene woke up she didn’t care about anything.

All she wanted was to live a quiet life and nothing more, but Lucas bought you.

He then bought Amber and all those others who were responsible for Reene’s death” she said.

“Why did he do that? How did he use us?” I asked her.

“The first thing Reene should have wanted when she woke up was kill the people who killed her. or were responsible for her murder” she said.

“But she didn’t, she wanted nothing but peace and quiet. Until today when she saw everyone at the party” I said, and she nodded.

“Lucas used all of you, he did so to wipe out any traces of light inside Reene. The darkness has completely consumed her, completely” she explained.

“How will Reene destroy the world and why?” I asked her.

“A spell that will wipe out any supernatural being that is outside the city of life. It doesn’t matter where they are in the world, it will wipe them out” she said.

“Is that even possible?

I guess it is with Reene’s manifestation powers.

The power that Amber was so scared of” I said, and she nodded.

“Well, I am glad you understand that part. So please help me, with your help I will be able to kill Reene” she said.

“Honestly, what kind of a mother are you? To kill your own child? It doesn’t matter if Reene wants to destroy the world. Let her do it” I said and got up.

“Remember that Reene had this darkness inside of her at a small corner in her heart?” she asked me, and I nodded.

“She now has light in that same corner, which means a part of her is in pain” she said.

“Look, it doesn’t matter what you say to me or how you try to justify it, I am not helping you to kill my mate” I said, and she nodded.

“I knew you would say that, she is my daughter.

But I didn’t even get to know her, she is my child which is why I want to do this.

I don’t want her to die inside when she has killed everyone.

I don’t want her to live with regret for eternity, she will want to die but have no way to do so.

I am sorry but we need to do this while she still wants to live, you know that feeling right?” she asked me.

She had tears in her eyes, I know what feeling she is talking about very well.

Feeling helpless, wanting to die, and yet knowing that nothing can kill you no matter how hard you try.

Knowing that you still have years and years left to live when all you want to do is to die.

Is she saying that Reene will feel like that?

She will feel all that regret and guilt for eternity.

“I get it, but if its okay with you I would like to tell you my plan first” she said, and I looked at her.

She took it as a go ahead and started telling me about her grand plan to kill my wife.

“Before I do there is something I want to make sure of if that’s okay with you” I said and I nodded.

“Lucas told us about the first time he met you, how you held Reene’s hand when the darkness was consuming her, and it disappeared” she said, and I nodded.

“That’s what happened, she always told me that when I am with her she can’t sense the darkness” I explained.

“I want to use that;

will you allow me to use the mate bond between you two.

I want to show you something, after that you can make your decision” she said, and I nodded.

“What will you do though?” I asked and she sat down and put a few candles around her.

“I am going to make Reene go through heat, the only one who will be able to satisfy her desires will you.

So, she will come here, once she is here you will understand the reason I did this” she said and then started chanting a spell.

She says that Reene will come here, if it means I have to see Reene then I am okay with it.

She then got up and her eyes landed on me.

“I hope you love her as much as you do” she said, and I nodded.

“I love her to death” I said which made her smile.

“that’s what I am hoping for” she said and then put away the candles.

“Make you decision really fast,

I will go for now and try to delay their plans.

Please save my daughter from a life of regrets like the one I am living now” she said and then walked away.

After a few minutes Amy came in.

“What did she want to talk about?

You guys were in here for so long” she said giving me a glass of juice.

“Honestly its hard to say what she truly wanted. But if she really is on our side then Reene will be coming to me soon” I said, and she looked at me.

“Reene will be coming here soon?

Why?

How exactly?

From what I saw today Reene was pretty done with everyone.

She obviously didn’t want to see anyone” Amy said, and I nodded.

“I know but she seemed pretty confident about it, let’s just wait and see” I said, and she nodded.

What is Elizabeth planning? How on earth will she kill an immortal witch?
