Chapter 75: guilt

Lewis’s pov

“I want to talk to you” a woman said entering my father’s office.

She looks familiar, where have I ever seen her before?

Ohhh yes, she is the woman that once came here with Logan to take Reene away.

So why is she here and what would she want to talk to my father about?

“What are you doing here?” Sasha asked her and I looked at everyone who was in the room.

They all seemed scared to see her, and there was something there as well guilt.

What the hell is going on here?

“Son please could you excuse us?” my father said.

I looked around the room once more, Viola is here and so is Sasha, but they are asking me the future coven leader to leave?

Why is that?

“That’s not going to happen, talk fast I want to hear what it is that you have been hiding from me” I said.

“Reene, the girl has come back to life” the witch said, and I looked around the room.

“What do you back from the dead? I know that she is dead but what do you mean that she came back from the dead?” I asked her.

“Exactly that, Reene is an immortal witch” she replied and then her eyes landed on my father.

“You knew? You don’t seem surprised, so did you know that she was an immortal witch?” the woman asked them.

If I am correct we got her information and I believe that her name is Amber.

I looked at my father, he seemed to have somewhat known that Reene is an immortal witch.

But that doesn’t make sense, immortal witches are ruthless and really powerful.

From a very young age Reene wasn’t that powerful, but she was kind and gentle.

There is no way that Reene is an immortal witch.

There has to be some kind of misunderstanding, it can’t be true.

I didn’t believe it when rumours about her being dead started as well.

Until that girl Amy confirmed them, she didn’t tell me what happened but confirmed that Reene indeed dead.

And now she comes here claiming that Reene is an immortal witch, and I am expected to just believe it?

There has to be some kind of misunderstanding.

“You mean she is still alive? That she is alive?” Viola asked and I could tell she seemed hopeful.

It was must have killed her finding out that her best friend is dead.

And now the mere hope that she might still be alive is better than nothing.

“If I were you I wouldn’t sound so relieved, do you even know what this means?” Amber asked them.

I am still processing what I just heard about Reene coming back from the dead.

“Do you even realize the danger we all are in now?” she asked them.

“I didn’t know she was an immortal witch, but we suspected.

Her mother was seen with one, we had no way of knowing if she really was one herself” Victoria answered.

“Sister you knew this? You knew of these rumours?” Viola asked her sister.

“Of course, I knew this, but we all thought that it was nothing but rumours” Victoria answered.

“But its good that she is alive, I have been feelings so guilty.

To think that I almost killed my own best friend just to get back at that monster.

I have been having so much guilt that I did nothing as she stabbed herself” Viola said and started breaking down.

“Wait what did you just say? Did you just say that you almost killed her?” I asked Viola and she nodded.

“It was the only way to kill that Logan, he killed my father and then is the reason my mother died. I just wanted to get rid of a monster” Viola said sobbing.

“Save your tears for another day, we tried to kill a monster but instead we created one” Amber said.

“What do you mean by that? What do you mean that we created another monster?” Sasha asked.

“Do you know why immortal witches are different from us normal witches? Why they are ruthless and heartless?” Amber asked.

“Because they are born that way” Victoria said with venom in her voice.

“No, not because of that. Many of them is because of how they died.

if someone killed them they hold a grudge which then turns into negative energy and then darkness.

That darkness torments them until the day they are reborn, that’s when they become someone totally different.

Someone that we should all fear because she will kill us all” she said.

“That’s not possible, I know Reene and I grew up with her.

I know her so well, she killed herself so I wouldn’t do it.

Because she didn’t want me to live with the guilt of having killed my best friend.

She wouldn’t turn evil no matter how much darkness surrounds her” Viola said.

“Or maybe she was never good to begin with.

Maybe all she was is pretentious, I never liked her.

I can’t even believe that even after knowing that the monster killed our parents she saved him.

She died for that monster; well, I am glad that she died.

She was a always a monster which is why she got along well with those other monsters?” Victoria said.

“You guys don’t seem to understand this do you?

We are all going to die for what we did to her.

She is going to kill us all” Amber said.

“Cant you talk to that Lucas guy? He is powerful so I bet that he could do something about it” Sasha said.

“Well then, it’s a good thing I am here isn’t it?” a guy said standing at the door.

“You knew didn’t you? You tricked us into killing her because you knew she was an immortal witch” Amber said, and the guy shrugged.

“Yes I knew, I knew that in order for her to truly be powerful she had to die in a brutal way.

What better way than being betrayed by her best friend?

What better way than being separated from the man she loved” he said as he sat down.

The way he acted one would think that he owns this place and he looked at me and smiled.

“You are surrounded by vile and evil people,

its funny that you even have the audacity to call others monsters” the gut said.

“We are not vile or evil, I just wanted to get revenge for my parents” Victoria said, and he nodded.

“You were after the wrong person this whole time;

Amber was the one that killed your father.

Actually, she has killed about thousand of witches for centuries using Logan’s name” he said.

Everyone looked at Amber and she didn’t even seem remorseful.

She didn’t even try to deny it.

“you are the one that killed my father? Which led to my mother’s death?” Viola asked and then fell on the ground.

“And yet you came to me and asked me to help you kill Logan,

even though you knew that the two of them did nothing wrong.

Why?” Viola asked sobbing even more.

“I did what I had to do, anyways Reene was the only person who was capable of killing me. Well, she still is” Amber said and then looked at the guy.

“Lucas please help me, please help get out of this” she said, and the guy nodded.

“I will, I came here because I heard that Reene will be here shortly to kill everyone who was involved in killing her" he said and then looked at me.

“You were there, well she will kill you all but since you helped me I will help you” Lucas added.

“You used them, they didn’t help you, you all used each other for your own selfish reasons and the person that suffered from it all is Reene” I said.

“Father, don’t you feel guilty for being responsible for the death of an innocent girl?” I asked him.

He looked down in shame.

“and why should we believe that you can protect us. Isn’t she your bride?” Amber asked him.

Bride?

What the hell is going on here?

“It’s because she is my bride that I will be able to protect you, now tell me, will you let me protect you?” he asked them.

But there is something about this man, something that just screams that he cant be trusted at all.

Who is he?

And why is he calling Reene his bride?

“How will you protect us?” Sasha asked and he smiled but every time he does it looks like a smirk.

“I will take you to the City of light” he said.

“What? The city of light is real?

I always thought that it was nothing but a myth, you are telling me that the city of light actually exists?” Amber asked him.

“I am taking you there aren’t I? you will see for yourself” Lucas answered.
