CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE
AURORA'S P.O.V
I was sitting in the pack house, trying to distract myself by thinking about anything but what was happening right now. It didn't work, my mind kept wandering to Alpha Kieran and Lucian. Were they okay? Lucian told me to stay inside but it was hard. I felt useless, stuck inside with the other pack members, mostly women and children. I looked around carefully and managed to find a quiet corner where I could sit and wait. As the minutes ticked by, I grew more and more restless until I couldn't take it anymore and I stood up and began pacing. I didn't even realize I was being stared at until I felt stinging gazes on my back. I turned and noticed that all the women were whispering to each other, their eyes darting towards me with a mixture of curiosity and malice. I tried to ignore them, turning my back on them and facing the wall where an abstract painting stared at me.
Then I felt someone approaching me, I turned. A tall and striking woman with piercing green eyes and bsafe hair in a bob approached me.
"Hey, Aurora right? Can I talk to you for a moment?" She asked, her voice sounding sweet as she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, can I help you?"
"I'm Lilith. Nice to meet you."
I suddenly felt wary of her. Why was she trying to speak to me.
"Nice to meet you too. What do need?"
She smiled, her eyes glinting with a strange amusement.
"I just wanted you to let you know that you don't belong here, you're just a guest, so you should know your boundaries."
I frowned, my eyebrows coming together.
"Excuse me?"
She smiled.
"You heard me. I don't know what your real intentions are but stay away from Alpha Kieran. You already have a mate...that is if he really is your mate. He seems way too good for you."
"Is that what you think?"
"Yeah, I know so."
I rocked back on my knees letting out a puff of air.
"Lilith. Leave me alone. I'm not afraid of you, neither will I explain myself to someone like you."
Her eyes flared up in anger. She sneered, her lips curling back.
"You should be, Aurora. You should be very afraid. After all, there's only one of your and a lot of us."
She made a motion with her hand and suddenly, numerous women rushed and grabbed me, dragging me out of the pack out, pushing me through a door. I struggled to free myself.
"Let me go!" I growled but they just laughed.
"Leave her in the center." I heard Liluth's voice as she commanded.
Then I was suddenly pushed roughly, I couldn't stabilize myself in time and ended up falling to the ground, bruising my arms in the process. Some of the women surrounded me, their eyes cleaning with excitement. While the others stood by the side, watching me silently, as if waiting for me to act. Lilith walked up to me and leaned down, her vice dripping with malice and mockery.
"We challenge you, Aurora. If you can beat us or at least last a long time, we'll leave you alone."
I let my gaze wander around what I assume to be the training ground because of all the heavy weight and training equipments I could see. All the women were suddenly quiet, just staring at me with challenge in their eyes. They were at least more that fifteen women in front of me. Did I have to fight them all? I wasn't going to back down. I took a deep breath, feeling my body tense with anticipation. Though I might not have any knowledge in hand to hand fighting, I was ready to fight. I'm not a weakling, power runs through my veins now. I got to my feet, staring Lilith dead in the eyes.
"You got yourself a deal. And remember, I didn't ask for this. You did."
Her lips quirked up.
"As you wish. Let's dance."
She moved back and nodded at the women. The first person to attack, a tall and lean blonde, charged at me. I dodged her attack, using my agility to evade her blows. I counterattacked, landing a swift kick to her stomach. The woman grunted, stumbling back as I took advantage of the opening. I fought with every ounce of strength I had, using my half shifted hands to take down the women one by one with my claws. It was intense, the rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. I felt alive, my body moving with a fluidity and strength I never knew I possessed. I kept on fighting, even when I felt exhausted until finally, I managed to take down the last of the women, standing victorious over them. The whole training ground erupted with cheers, all for me. Just when I was about to rejoice, that's when Lilith suddenly roared and rushed towards me. I acted fast and took her down with a minute. I raised my arms into the air, letting the cheers of my victory wash over me.
"And that should teach you guys that I'm not some weak, fucking bitch that you can mess with! Okay? Yeah!!!"
I paused when I felt a familiar gaze on me, so I turned. And that's when I saw Lucian, Kieran, and Kale standing at the entrance to the training ground, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of surprise and admiration. Lucian's eyes locked onto mine, his eyes open wide in shock and admiration. I grinned and ran to him, throwing my arms around his neck. He responded quick to my hug but called my name with confusion in his voice. I pulled back and smiled at him. I was just happy that he was safe and now here.
"You're back. I'm glad."
He smiled back and replied that he was glad but then I noticed that he kept looking around the training ground, his eyes darting around with curiosity. I knew wgay he was thinking, thankfully the women were leaving already. He finally faced me and asked.
"So what did I miss?"
I chuckled and shook my head.
"A lot, but don't worry, I'll fill you in." I stared ahead at Alpha Kieran and Jake who waved at me with curious looks of they're own. "And them too."
