CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVEN
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
"Aurora." He breathed out, shaking his head, "Please don't do this." He reached it for her, but before he could take her hand, I grabbed it first.
"Thank you, but we'll be taking our leave now."
I smirked at him while waving at him with her hand in mine. He looked conflicted, his mouth opening and closing.
"Do you really want to leave?"
She looked at him, here's alight with something I didn't know.
"Of course. You have no idea what we have been through. We need your help because we know you are strong enough to help us. But because of your stupid petty feelings that, if you asked me, is very immature, you have decided to let it cloud your sense of judgment."
"But..." He started.
She continued, glaring at him to keep quiet.
"You came to our pack and stayed there a long time. You ate for free, had free accommodation, had peace of kind. Now why won't you do the same for us when we need your help now. Isn't that just being a coward and a wicked person? Would you have preferred that when you came to our pack, you were turned away right at the door. Especially if you were seeking for help? Or wait..." She scoffed, took her hand away from mine and crossed her hands on her chest, a mocking look on her face. "Are you turning him away because he is no longer an alpha and has been branded a rogue? Is this what it's all about?".
"I had no idea he was no longer an alpha...or a rogue." He sounded shocked as he looked at me with wide eyes.
I looked away and face palmed with a sigh. She just missed the point, how can she be so clueless? He's only doing this because he wants her to be his. But I guess its a good thing too that she's clueless about his motivation.
"You had no idea? Really?" Her voice went a tad bit high with disbelief as she blinked at him.
"You can't tell me that you don't know what's ben happening for the past few months. Everyone knows."
He hurriedly shook his head, his shoulders moving.
"I really don't."
"So you don't know that Desmond is alive?" I asked him.
This time, his eyes went so wide they were almost bullying out of his sockets.
"What?"
He really doesn't know.
"He doesn't know." I murmured into her ears.
"I know that now." She nodded, gaping at him.
"What do I not know?" He growled, darting his gaze between the both of us.
She raised her chin at him.
"Are you letting us in or are you not. Or you can forget me staying here. And also us telling you anything."
He rubbed his face with his hands and finally nodded, a silent expression on his face.
"Yes, he can...stay." He said the word like it left a bad taste in his mouth.
I clapped my hands.
"Nice. Now lead the way. Don't expect me to say thank you. You did stay in my pack without thanking us anyway."
"You."
He growled but a cough from Aurora had him calming down and motioning to the front.
"Let's go."
We followed him into the dense trees until we came across an opening between two huge trees. When we emerged, the scene of houses and more trees filled our vision. We walked until we stopped in front of a large house which I assumed to be the pavk house. He opened the door and went inside.
"Come in."
We stepped into a large sitting room decorated with moderate furnitures that made the room stand out more. The walls were painted a deep gold and the floors had black tiles.
"Sit down." He pointed to a sofa while leading Aurora to seat beside him on a couch but I quickly rushed and sat where he was supposed to seat.
"You can seat on one of the sofas, I'm okay here."
I told him promtly, not even minding the glare she was directing at me. He let out a silent growl then went to seat on the sofa he has pointed to earlier.
"Alright, tell me everything." He said after he had sat down.
Aurora and I shared a look then began. We both pitched in to tell him everything, completing where the other one missed out. It took about two hours before we were finally done.
"And now you know everything. What are you going to do? Are you going to help us or are you going to turn us away?" I asked him, my voice devoid of playfulness.
His jaw moved as he stared at me, his hand on his chin.
"I don't like you." He started, I let my back rest against the couch, I could feel Aurora tending beside me so I rubbed her back discreetly. "But that doesn't mean I will stand back and let you guys go through this alone. Since you've come to me, of course I'll help you."
Aurora let out a relieved sigh beside me, her head hanging as she leaned forward, a smile on her lips.
"Thank you so much. You have no idea how grateful we are. Right Lucian?" She nudged me in my sides. I let out a soft snort.
"Thank you."
I gritted out, turning my face away. I knew he was only doing this because he wanted to keep Aurora closer and also impress her. I am onto you, Kieran. I won't let you have your way just because I am seeking refused in your pack.
"See, he's grateful."
"I can see that."
He had a smirk on his face, I wished I could just punch the smirk off his face.
"Whatever." I grunted. "Where do we sleep?" I yawned loudly as I stood up.
He stood up, Aurora stood up too.
"Aurora, you can sleep here, in the pack house, I'm sure there are room s you can choose from."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome." Then he turned to me, his eyes twinkling mischievously, I had a bad feeling about this.
"You don't get to sleep in my pack house."
"Excuse me?" I blinked at him, wondering if he was crazy. "If I don't sleep here, then where do you want me to sleep?"
His lips tilted, his eyes lowering before coming to look at me.
"I have just the perfect place for you."
