CHAPTER EIGHTY-ONE

AURORA'S P.O.V

“No…” I whispered.

I stepped closer, as my hands trembled, tears ran down my face.

“Stop it!” I screamed.

Desmond grinned at me. “What are you going to do, little girl?”

"I...I...I'll kill you..." I growled

Something inside me snapped, my body began trembling ferociously as a roar tore from my throat. My body lit up with a blinding golden light.

"Arrrrrrrrrrhhhh!"

I threw back my head and let my hands to dangle at my sides as a wave of energy burst out from me, knocking back every enemy in a twenty meter radius. I growled again and crouched, my body brimming with pleasurable power as I shifted. I threw back my head and let out a long howl, finally. The field was silent for one split second and then the roarings from the nen surrounded me, not in fright of who I was, but in joy. I let my instinct guide me as I moved through the field, letting the light from my body touch everyone around me. As soon as my light touched them, they stood up, completely healed, even the dead ones, they came back to life.

"Nooooooo!"

I heard Desmond screaming, his roar  torturous as his face squeezed in pain. My friends and mate were no longer in his hands but instead they were rushing back into the gray, healthy and not a spec of injury on their bodies. Mirabel decided to shift with a nod at me.

Lucian, now back on his feet in wolf form, ran towards me, his flank brushing mine. He brought his long nose and brushed it gently against mine, a warm look in his eyes. He stopped long enough to bark and nod his head at me. A grin graced my lips as I watched them go. I wasn't helpless anymore. A weakened groan drew my attention back to Desmond. I slowly walked over to him, still in my wolf form. He was crawling on the ground, his face and body a blood mess. I could see opened flesh and white ligaments. He looked like someone that had been burnt by a great deal of power.  A single growl from me altered him to my presence. His eyes widened as he stared at me.

"You..." He winced when he tried to get up but fell back to the ground, mour blood pooling underneath him. His clothes were torn, one side of his face burned from my power, but he didn’t retreat. Instead, he pointed a shaking finger at me.

"How....how did you do it? There was no one to teach you. You weren't supposed to know how!" He roared.

I wanted to answer him but since I was in my wolf form, I could only growl at him.

“You don’t even know the power you hold. I can...I can teach you how to harness it. Together...together we can rule the world."

I stalked closer, my eyes bleeding hate towards him.

'I don't need anyone to tell me what I can or cannot do.'

I said it internally but I'm pretty sure he got the message because his face suddenly went stormy, his red eyes shone even more. He suddenly shifted in front of me, his bones and muscles cracking as his flesh realigned into his wolf form. A strangled roar escaped from him, I managed to move back just in time as he launched himself at me. Though his wolf was huge, terror inducing and smelled like rotten flesh right now, I didn't flinch. I shifted back to my human form and raised my two hands. Golden vines of light like chains shot from the earth, binding his limbs, wrapping tightly around him. He thrashed around and struggled.

"Stop struggling, it'll put make it more painful.", I told him.

He stopped and shifted back to his human form. He looked even worse, like he was about to die. He smiled, a slowly smile. I watched as he reached for his pocket and took something out of it, a round black ball.

My hackles raised in alarm.
"What is that?"

"You shouldn't bother yourself with that.", he replied weakly, "Don't think its over...I'll be back."

I thought he was about to put the object into his mouth so I raised my hand to stop him, but instead, a sudden burst of dust surrounded me, entering my eyes and distracting me. When I opened my eyes, he was gone.

"No!" I growled. He managed to escape. How did he do it?

I was still in my state of anger when a last standing warrior from Desmond's side rushed towards me, his teeth bared and claws outstretched. Without thinking, I raised my palm, a blast of wind shot out and sent him flying back into a tree with a sickening crack. Suddenly, I collapsed to my knees, panting. The power began to fade, leaving me drained. Lucian shifted back, racing to my side, he gripped my shoulders, his eyes wide with concern.

“Aurora?” he whispered, voice trembling. "Are you alright?"

I nodded weakly and gave him a sad smile.
"I'm sorry...I let him get away."

He squeezed my shoulders and pulled me into his chest.
"Scratch that. You saved us. You did it "

“I didn’t mean to lose him,” I whispered. “It just…happened.”

"Stop that, Aurora." He pulled me back and flaked at me. "You did it, you healed all the injured warriors. Look...", he pointed to the field littered with dead men, not ours thank goodness.

"You brought them back to life. No one is going to cry over their loved ones because of you. Can't you see it.".

My eyes roamed the field, I saw many men smile at me and wave.

Alpha Samuel suddenly ran into towards us, he was stark naked, his face bruised. I squeezed my eyes and turned my head away, but to my shock, he dropped beside Lucian in front of me and pulled me into a hug.

"Alpha Samuel!" I squeaked, even Lucian made a protesting sound beside me.

Alpha Samuel released me and staref at me, his face streaks with tears as he brushed my hair.

"Thank you. You are magnificent" he spoke, his voice breaking, "You are more than we ever imagined...thank I ever thought you would be. Thank you."

I stared at him in shock, unsure of what to say. Behind Lucian, Eli, Shawn, Jake and Mirabel all grinned at me, their eyes bright with happiness as they waved at me.

"I did good." I whispered to myself.

"Yes, you did and you have to accept it." Lucian smiled.

Something shifted in the air, and suddenly, all around us, warriors and men knelt, their faces elated with smiles as they stared at me.

They weren't bowing to Lucian, but to me!.
