CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX
AURORA'S P.O.V
With my chest beating like crazy, I watched as a tall, dark-haired guy stepped out, followed by another guy with light brown eyes, they were both dressed in jeans, black shirt and leather jacket. Something about them seemed familiar to me but I just couldn't put my finger on it.
"Who are they?" I whispered to no one in particular, my eyes narrowed as I tried to think.
Next to me, Lucian made a choked up sound mixed with a snort. I looked at him to see that his lips were wide in a smile as he stared at the two men making their way towards us.
"Well I'll be damned!" He chuckled, throwing back his head in relief, his shoulders sagging.
"Do you know them?" I couldn't help asking.
"Not only do we know them, they owe us a favor." He grinned at me while taking off his seatbelt, within seconds, he was out of the car and headed towards them. From my seat, I could see the faint smiles on their lips.
"I better get down." I muttered, I landed on the ground, dust flying around me. I watched in more confusion as Lucian gave the two guys a hearty bro hug.
"Thanks for the save." Lucian smiled at the dark haired one, he looked to be older than the brown-eyed guy.
"You're welcome, we're just happy we arrived in time."
"Are you guys okay?" the brown-eyed guy asked, his eyes scanning us for injuries.
I nodded, still trying to figure out who they were.
"Yeah, we're fine, thanks a lot to you guys."
"Yeah, we were almost toast there." Lucian seconded with a grimace.
The two guys chuckled.
"Then we're happy to help." The dark-haired guy answered then widened his eyes as he stared at me.
"Wow! Cool hair color and nice contacts."
"They look unique but actually suit you." Brown eyes chorused.
"Huh?" Wait, were they talking about my hair? What do they mean by contacts?"
"Um guys..." Lucian shook his head. "They're actually natural. The eyes and hair."
My eyes? What about my eyes.
"What?"
"Really? How?"
They stared at me with mouth wide and faces filled with shock.
"Long story, but we'll tell you soon."
They knew me, I couldn't take it anymore, my hand shot up.
"I'm sorry, but can I ask a question?"
The two guys and Lucian stared at me, I blushed under all the sudden attention.
"Sure." Brown-eyes answered with a shrug.
"Have I seen you guys somewhere? You guys look familiar but I can't just place it."
The two guys exchanged amused smiles together with Lucian.
"Sorry for not introducing ourselves to you." Dark haired guy began.
I waved my hands, chuckling nervously.
"Oh, no, its okay. It's my fault for...not remembering."
"Should I do the honors?" Lucian asked.
"Nah, we got this, its not a big deal anyway." Brown eyes smiled and then held out his hand for a handshake.
"The name is Jake White. Nice to meet you."
I took his hand in mine, they were warm and large.
"Aurora Steel, nice to meet you too."
Next was dark-haired guy. He also put out his hand, a smile on his lips.
"The name is Eli White..."
My eyebrows flew up at the name Eli, I shared a discreet look with Lucian, he only winked at me.
"...future alpha of White Fang pack. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too...Wait a minute!" I blinked a few times, then covered my mouth with my hands, my eyes wide. "Don't tell me... Mirabel? Mirabel's brother? The two guys we freed along with their mom? It's you guys?".
The two guys crinkled their eyes as they laughed, loud.
"Yep, it's us."
"You finally remembered."
"How could I forget? I'm so sorry. Its nice to meet you guys again." I gushed out. "How is Mirabel? Is she okay? Happy?"
"She's fine. Don't worry, you'll see her soon."
"I can't wait."
"So guys, to the important question..." Lucian began seriously. His eyes sombre. "How did you know we were here?"
Eli answered. "We got a call from a woman, she wouldn't introduce herself. Just pleaded with us to go find you guys and that you were around here."
"And like she said, you guys we're here. Only, we never expected that you were being chased. Our pack happens to be the owner of this land, its linked to our territory. So racing here was quite easy." Jake finished.
"I wonder who the woman could be, she really saved us." I wondered aloud.
"I'm guessing it's mom." Lucian sighed, a wistful look in his eyes.
"Whoever it was, they did a good thing telling us. What do you say we head back to our pack. I'm sure you guys are tired." Eli pipped.
"And from the look of things..." Jake glanced at me, specifically my hair and eyes. I need to look in the mirror. "...you guys have a lot to tell us."
"Yeah, a lot." Lucian sighed then he walked towards me and took my hand in his, a gentle look in his eyes. "Let's go."
"Okay." I nodded.
We drove behind them, following their lead as we ventured past huge forest and large, lush fields filled with green grass. Then we arrived at the pack. The pack was huge, with rows of houses and a large meeting hall in the center.
A large, house painted white and silver was situated just beside the meeting hall, I'm guessing that was the pack house. We pulled up to the house and Jake gestured for us to follow him.
"Come on, let's get you guys settled in. We'll talk more later."
Lucian and I followed Jake and Eli into the house. I stared in awe as my eyes scanned the interior. The sitting room was huge, a bit larger than the one at our pack. The furnitures were fancy and shone bright from faithful polishing.
"You guys sit down, we'll get someone to get you something to eat." Jake waved us to one of the sofas.
"Thank you." I smiled.
Just as we sat down, we heard a flurry of footsteps, someone rushed in and the next I heard was a scream.
"Aurora!!!"
