Chapter 55 55
CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

AURORA'S P.O.V

I gasped, my heart racing.

"Lucian!"

I exclaimed, my voice shaking with excitement. But just as I was about to speak again, his eyes slowly closed again, and his hand went limp.

I stared at him, my heart pounding. Had he really moved, or was it just my imagination?

"Lucian?" I called out, my voice shaking.

But there was no response. His eyes were once again shut as if he had never opened them. I sat there, frozen in uncertainty, my heart racing with a mix of hope and disappointment as my mind raced. Had he really moved? Was he waking up? I didn't know, but I was determined to find out. I knew that Eleanor was now in Alpha Desmond's office so I quickly got up and ran to find her, my heart now racing with excitement.

"Eleanor, Lucian moved! I think he's waking up!" I exclaimed, bursting into her office.

Eleanor's eyes lit up with joy, and she quickly stood up from her desk. "Really? That's wonderful news, Aurora!" She gave me a brief hug then hurried past me, heading towards Lucian's room.

I followed closely behind her, my heart still pounding with excitement. When we entered Lucian's room, I saw that he was still unconscious, but his breathing seemed more stable. Eleanor sat down beside him, a smile still on her face.

"I'm sure he'll wake up soon," she said, her eyes shining with hope.

I nodded, feeling relief wash over me.

"I'm so relieved."

We stayed there for a while just staring at him.

"You should go rest now, Aurora dear. You look tired." She looked at me with a warm smile.

Though if you asked me, I would say she looked more exhausted that I was. The underside of her eyes looked faintly black, probably covered by concealer that wasn't doing it job well.

"Are you sure? You actually look more exhausted than me. Maybe you should go sleep."

She waved her hand in a dismissive way, her lips tilted in a smile.
"I'm stronger than I look. Don't worry about me. Just go on, I'll stay with him, alright? Just...watch out for those annoying and pesky pack members."

I smiled and nodded my head.
"I will, thanks. See you later."

As I was leaving Lucian's room, I decided to take a walk in the woods. The fresh air felt good, and I needed some time to clear my head.
As I walked, I suddenly heard a rustling sound just opposite me. I turned to see Alpha Kieran emerging from the side of the pack house his silver eyes fixed on me. What was he still doing in this pack anyway.

"Aurora," he said, his voice calm, his hands in his pocket. "How are you?"

I smiled. "I'm fine, Alpha Kieran. Thank you for asking."

He nodded, his eyes moving as they scanned my face. "I see. I wanted to talk to you about something."

I nodded, curious. "What is it?"

But before he could say anything, a group of women appeared a few distances away from us, their faces drawn in a sneer as they approached us. I belatedly realized that their gazes were focused only on me and not Alpha Kieran.

"So, this is the little slut who's been playing with Lucian's feelings," one of them sneered, her eyes fixed on me.

"What do you mean?" I blurted out, my voice sounding bewildered.

A blondie pointed a finger in my face.
"You claim Lucian is your mate but you still frolick with another man, and alpha. Do you have a thing for alphas?"

Wait a minute! Are they calling me a slut? How dare they? I felt a surge of anger, and I was about to respond when Alpha Kieran held me back by placing a hand on my shoulders. He stepped forward, his eyes flashing with warning.

"That's enough," he said, his voice firm. "Leave her alone."

The women finally looked up at him. Their faces turned white as soon as they realized who he was.

"All...alpha...Ki...kieran?"

"We....we didn't see you there...sir..."

"We...we're...we're so...sorry....Alpha....we didn't mean....anything...we said..."

I watched in amusement as they trembled while trying to apologize to him.

"Get lost." He simply growls, his eyes hard on them.

In a flash, they fled without turning back to look at me.

I turned to face me, feeling a sense of gratitude. "Thank you, Alpha Kieran," I said, my voice cracking.

He nodded, his eyes scanning my face. "You're welcome, Aurora." He took a deep breath and took a step closer. "Don't you think its time you come with me?"

I looked at him, confused. "What do you mean?"

He sighed, his expression serious. "The pack, they don't like you, Aurora. They're blaming you for Alpha Desmond's death and Lucian's coma, and they're starting to turn against you."

I swallowed and said nothing, tuning my body away from him. They were always against me from the beginning.

He continued, "They're just looking for someone to blame, Aurora. And you're an easy target. Because, in their eyes, you're only a weak and useless Omega."

I felt a surge of fear, my heart pounding in my chest, a feeling of desperation wash over me. What was I going to do?

"I don't know what to do. I don't think I want to leave this pack. My friends are here. Talia, Griffin, Eleanor....and Lucian."

He came closer and used a finger to raise my head to face him. I stared into his silver eyes that seemed to compel me, his face looked stuff and tired and his hair had grown longer, he needed a haircut.

His voice was calm, but firm. "Come with me, Aurora. I'll take you to my pack. You'll be safe there. And at least, anything that will happen from now on won't be your fault anymore."

I looked at him, my heart racing with uncertainty.

He continued.
"And its not like you are actually rejecting him, when he wakes up and he still wants you, he knows where to find you."

I nodded, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Okay, I'll come with you."
