CHAPTER FIFTY
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
At that moment, my phone suddenly rang, breaking through the atmosphere and startling her.
"Sorry, let me just take this."
I pulled out the phone. It was mom.
"Hey mom."
"Lucian!" She screamed, almost sobbing.
I yelled, "Mom?"
"Quick your father, I...I don't know what happened but suddenly he's raging about the whole place and tearing the whole place down!".
My heart went cold.
"Are you alright? Did he touch you?"
"No, I was able to hide in my room, but I don't know how long I can hold it...arrgh!."
Then she screamed.
"Mom!"
"I'm fine...just come quick...before its too late." The call went off.
I grabbed Aurora's hand and began running back to the pack house.
"Lucian, what's happening?"
"Dad...my mom! We have to get there quick!" I yelled as we ran faster, she said nothing, feeling the seriousness of the situation.
We got there in no time and raced up the stairs. I heard it before I saw it, the feral roar and the smashing of something hard against the door. I panted as I jumped four steps at one time until I finally reached the corridor.
"Stop it!"
I roared just in time to stop him from giving the final hit on the door, its hinges were already broken and the wooden door looked about to fall fall inside the room, only held back from the other side.
"Lu..Lucian! You're here....please stop him." Her terrified voice filteted from inside the room.
"What do you think you are doing?" I growled.
The whole corridor was littered with broken pieces of appliances, the walls had been scratched off by something sharp, I'm guessing his claw. He looked tattered and almost rogue-like with his tattered shirt and rumpled pants.
His eyes glowed black as he glared at me, his face half shifted into his wolf, letting his mouth turn into a long snout and revealing his long, sharp teeth. He made a step towards me, a long growl mixed with a snarl as he flexed his clawed hands.
"You cursed child! I wished you had never been born."
Aurora made a sound behind me, pressing herself to my back, I could feel her fear so I gave her hand a tight squeeze before focusing back to him.
"Its not a surprise that you hate me...that's not the point, why are you doing this?"
He said nothing but only continued growling.
"Why? Why...did it took me so long to realise I married a monster?"
Mom sobbed from her room, I saw the door finally lose it support and collapse to the floor revealing a pale face, tear-streaked mom. She was watching dad with the eyes that held so much hate, more than I've ever seen iny life.
"Why do you hate your son so much? Ever since he was little, you never showed him love." Tears poured out from her eyes and her voice became shaky. "Just tell me...one good reason why you hate Lucian."
"Because he is an unfilial son and does not deserve to have me as his father." Dad growled, his words a little slurred because of his snout.
"So because he refuses to go by your every whim?" She shook her head, her fists clenching, "Tell me Desmond, I need to know more, why do you hate "OUR SON!" She screamed.
"Because he is not my son! And he will never be!" He roared.
There was a deadly silence after he said that, mom stared at him in shock. Her face became more whiter and her hands began to tremble. I stood there, my eyes blurred and my ears ringing like I had been hit with something.
"What...what do you mean?" She whispered, her eyes on him. "Lucian is your son, he is my son."
Heavily panting, he smirked, his eyes flashing.
"He's your son alright, but he's not mine. We never shared the same blood."
Never shared the same blood?
"What do you mean never shared the same blood? If I'm not your son then whose son am I?" I whispered then looked at mom. "Mom...is he saying the truth? Who is my father?"
"Believe me Lucian, I have no idea what he's saying, don't believe him."
"If you think I'm lying, then ask yourself why he doesn't have the same birthmarks that I have? We all know that the wolf pups here inherit their father's birthmark in the exact same location. You have yours at your back while mine..." He raised his tattered shirt, I saw three star shapes marks on his stomach. "...are over here. I'm not your bloody father, you nitwit!" he shrugged, "And as for your father, that's a secret that, I'll never tell you."
It all made sense now, why he never loved or even cared about me.
"Oh you have to tell me." Mom growled, stepping closer. "I want to know who I slept with if its not you. T...tell..me...now!"
He suddenly shook his head, his breathing becoming fast as he glared past me at Aurora, saliva dripping from the corners of his lips.
"I planned everything. Everything had been going great. All my efforts were finally going to be paid off." Then he laughed, throwing his head up and spreading his hands. "Me! I did it! They thought I couldn't do it. But this...its all going to be mine. All mine! And it was going so well...until you..." He lowered his head and pointed a clawed finger at Aurora, she stiffened. "You came along to try and spoil my plans? I will not let you. Never! Since you have refused to leave this pack in peace, I will make you leave in pieces."
He suddenly threw back his head in a howl and then I felt something, painfully slam into me. Suddenly, I felt my body flying acrooss the corridor to land on the ground. A wicked laugh escaped him as he bent over himself and shifted, his black wolf looking more bigger, more feral and dangerous than ever as he sprung toward her.
"Ow!!" I winced, clutching my shoulder where I had hit it.
She screamed as he lunged closer, her face went white, paralyzed by fear.
'Mate!' My wolf screamed in panic.
"Don't you dare!" I growled and leaped forward.
Time slowed for me as I shifted in middle air and pushed him down before he could reach her. I heard a scream just as I felt something hot on one of my legs.
"Lucian don't!"
