Chapter 49 49

Chapter 49 49
CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

LUCIAN'S P.O.V

"Lucian! Oh my gosh!"

Someone suddenly screamed just as Aurora said something. I frowned because I didn't get to hear what she had said and I knew it had to be something very important.

"Who the hell could be screaming my name like that?" I growled out, narrowing my eyes into slits while I scanned the area.

Aurora had a strange look on her face, her lips pressed together. She looked annoyed as she glared at something behind me.

"What are you looking at?"

I turned to see a young woman, about her age, running towards us with a grin on her face. Though she wore tight pants with high heels, she was running so fast, her long hair flying behind her.

"Do you know her?" I asked Aurora, but she shook her head.

"No I don't. Never seen her before." I looked at the woman again. "She's staring at you."

"Huh? Why would she be..."

"Lucian! Alpha Lucian. I can't believe I finally saw you, after all these time." The woman squealed once she reached me, taking my hand forcefully in hers, I was too stunned to move so I only stared at her, confused.

"Excuse me." I pushed her off gently once I had gotten myself. Discreetly, I glanced at Aurora, fearing she might be taking it the wrong way but thankfully she had an amused looks on her face.

"Who are you?"

The woman suddenly frowned, then glanced at Aurora and let out a nervous laugh, her brown eyes crinkling at the edges. She stepped closer and tugged the hem of my shirt, her eyes staring earnestly at me.

"Lucian, you...you don't remember me?"

I crossed my hands across my chest, my voice hard as I glared at her.
"No. Who are you and please stop saying my name like that. We don't know each other."

"But we had sex a few months ago."

A squeak escaped my mouth at her words. I turned to Aurora, my face full on panic mode as I let out a more nervous, shaky laugh.

"Ha ha! It's not what you think. She said a few months ago, I...I'm a different man. Honest. I swear."

She rolled her eyes and laughed before slapping me on my back.
"You have other things to worry about. Don't worry about me."

I nodded, my eyes still on her until she nodded at me, her lips raised to one side.

I growled while facing the woman again.
"Hey, we might have have had sex once..."

"It's actually twice." She interrupted.

Fuck it. Why was I such a man whore?
"Fine." I gritted out. "We had sex twice, big deal. In case you didn't get the memo, I have a mate now. Whatever we did was nothing." I ignored the look of hurt and disbelief on her face. "Stay the fuck away from me, okay. Now go."

"But I thought we had something together." She protested trying to take my hand again.

A sharp growl rumbled in my chest and ripped from my mouth, she stepped back quickly, her face white with fright.

"I said. Stay the fuck away from me."

With wide eyes and trembling legs, she turned and ran off.

"Wow, I never knew you could actually turn down a woman."

Aurora's light voice sounded behind me, I turned to look at her. She had her hands crossed over her chest, a smile on her lips.

"I swear, that didn't mean anything to me. I forgot about it a long time ago." I can't even remember who the woman was or what we had done. I only owned up to it because of what I was before. A man whore.

"You really have to stop explaining and apologizing, I don't care neither do I mind. It's your life, I can't control you."

"But I want you to control me."

She gave me a disgusted look, I winced, I might have said that the wrong way.

"Sorry, it came out wrong. I just want you to know that I will never do anything like that again. What I did in the past is gone. Forever."

She sighed and started walking, I rushed to walking beside her.

"I know. You don't have to tell me again. And stop making me feel strange, I still haven't accepted you, so stop acting like I have." Her voice had a strange edge to it but I decided not to put much thought to it.

We walked in silence for a while.

"Aurora."

"Lucian."

We both spoke at the same time, then we laughed.

"You go first." I offered.

"No, you go first, I don't mind." She shook her head.

I blinked, unsure.
"If you say so." She nodded, I began. "So...that day you were brought to the hospital. What happened to you?" I asked curiously because I still can't think of why she would be out in the middle of the woods and then fall unconscious.

She stared straight ahead as she answered.
"I have no idea. All I know was that I shifted and ran away from my burning house, then the next thing I know, I'm waking up in the hospital. With you bugging me." She says the last sentence with a smile on her face.

"Sorry about that but I'm glad Griffin told me. So, you don't know what happened?"

"I just said I didn't.", she snapped. "Maybe it was from the shock of discovering that my wolf had suddenly turned white."

"Wait, you found out that night? That long? And you kept it to yourself?"

"And I would have kept it longer if Griffin hadn't found out. So don't be shocked...although I might have told Talia after a long time of consideration."
I licked my lips.
"I see. Well, even if we don't know what happened, we should be careful, you too. Anything can happen so try to be safe and always call me. You don't have to do it all by yourself. Not anymore."

She looked at me then smiled.
"Yeah. You're right. Thanks." She inhaled softly. "So...about what I wanted to tell you..." She hesitated, sounding unsure, I could see the way her eyes kept darting around, not settling on my face.

"What is it?"

She took a deep breath, squeezing her fingers.
"So...your father...he...he..."
