CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
AURORA'S P.O.V
"He doesn't need to know, I don't think we should tell him." He refused with a shake of his head.
"But he's here now and besides, I trust he won't betray us."
"Well you trust him but I don't.", he was stubborn.
"What are you both talkihg about? Can you just tell me?" Alpha Kieran asked with a roll of his eyes.
"Maybe if you had minded your business, you wouldnt be asking that. Why are you still in this pack anyway? What's your deal?"
"Lucian?" I warned, he glanced at me and sighed.
"Fine, you can tell him." Then he glared at him, pointing at him with two fingers and back at his eyes. "Just know that I'm going to be watching you from now on."
"Whatever."
I sighed then began to tell him everything, from what Lucian had told me, to what I had experienced but I withheld the info I had discovered in that book. It was best that way, I should never even mention it. By the time I was done, his mouth was hanging open and he was staring at me like a new species.
"You know, when I first met you, I found you interesting. Now you are even more intriguing." His eyes shook with interest.
I chuckled while tucking my hair behind my ears.
"Well, that's just me you know. With a lot of surprises."
"Yeah, a lot of surprises. Now get your eyes off my mate."
Lucian growled as he dragged me to my feet and led me out of the warehouse. It was still very dark, which meant there was still time for me to sleep.
"Lucian you have to learn to behave."
I snapped in a low voice trying not to sound loud because Griffin and Alpha Kieran were behind us.
He grunted.
"Trust me, I am behaving. In fact, I have never behaved this well in my life, not even for my mom."
I nodded quietly, it was hard not to believe that. We arrived at the pack house thirty minutes later. I headed straight for my room.
"Why are you following me?
I stopped after noticing that Lucian was still behind me. He blinked and tilted his head.
"I'm sleeping in your room today."
"What?" I yelled then had to slap a hand to my mouth as I glanced around. Then in a panicked whisper, "What?"
He shrugged as he pushed me forward.
"Who knows if something else might happen or another pest..." He glared down the corridor. "...might just appear near you. I will be right with you to prevent that."
He opened my door and tried to push me in but I held myself back. Flashes of that too intimate time we had before flashed through my mind. What if that happened again? I don't think I would be able to control myself.
"What...what are you saying? Nothing is going to happen." Right? Where are you going to sleep? I'm not letting you sleep on my bed with me."
He stopped then brought his face in front of me, a smirk in his lips.
"Why is your face red? What dirty things are you thinking that might happen?"
I groaned and quickly rushed inside.
"My face is red? It must be from the heat, yeah. And I'm not....thinking anything. You're the one...pervert."
He laughed out loud, shaking his head.
"Its alright, I'll be sleeping on the couch. See? Its big enough for me."
He walked over and plopped onto the couch with a sigh.
"Fine...if you say so...don't try anything while I'm sleeping."
He held out the okay sign in front of me. I just had to take his words. I crept to my bed and got under the covers fast. I never knew how exhausted I was until I fell asleep immediately I closed my eyes.
The sunlight filtering into my room and the shockingly loud snoring from Lucian woke me up.
"I never knew someone could snore like this." I murmured as I picked up a pillow and threw it to his face. He groaned and kept on snoring.
"Hey! Lucian!"
"What? Can't you see, I'm trying to sleep?.....Be quiet." He mumbled.
I sighed and got up from the bed, I tapped him on his chest.
"Hey, you have to leave right now. What will people say if they find out you slept in my room." I hurriedly whispered.
All of a sudden, his hands shot out and grabbed me to his chest. I squealed in shock as I felt my cheek on his smooth chest, he was still shirtless.
"Just be quiet and stay with me like this.", he softly whispered.
My face suddenly heated and I felt sparks all over my body. What is this? What am I feeling? Goosebumps on my hands.
"Oh hell no! Lucian!"
I yelled and began pummeling his chest with my hand. That got him to wake up immediately
"H...hey! What the heck?"
"Wake up and let go of me."
"Alright, alright. No need for the violence."
I quickly jumped away from him and hugged my chest.
"You...pervert! How could you...taking advantage of me like that. Stupid! Idiot!"
I was mostly scolding myself but of course he didn't need to know that.
"It was just a simple hug, no need to get defensive."
He yawned as he stretched. My mouth dropped open at the sight of his muscles shifting beneath his golden skin.
I hiccupped.
"I...I'm...I'm not defensive. I just think you should leave before people find out."
He smiled then stood up.
"You're right, I have to go ask dad some questions anyway. Talk to you later okay?"
"Mmmhhh!"
I nodded and watched as he passed and opened the door.
"Oh hey man, what a lovely morning huh?" I heard him greet someone cheerfully. Who was that?
Alpha Kieran? He walked in, a scowl on his face.
"Aurora."
"Alpha Kieran, good morning. What brings you to my room?" I smiled as I picked up my pillow.
"I had something to discuss with you. So..." He looked around, "...Lucian slept here?"
"Oh, yeah. He wanted to keep guard over me. So what is it you wanted to discuss?"
He sighed then came over and sat on the couch.
"About my offer." He began.
I tilted my head, blinking at him.
"How about following me to my pack and becoming a high rank member, an elder?"
