Chapter 183 183
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-THREE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
Time went by fast and three months went by, Aurora already had a bump. A very noticeable, very real, very distracting bump. If I have to say. And I was fucking obsessed with it.
“You’re staring again,” she said, not even looking up from her book.
Without looking away, I replied.
“I am appreciating.”
She chuckled.
“You’ve been appreciating for ten minutes.”
“I can go longer.”
Kieran gagged from across the room. “Please don’t.”
Then she tried to stand, I was on my feet instantly.
“Careful.”
She stopped mid-motion.
“Lucian.”
“Yes?”
“I am standing.”
“Yes. I can see that.”
“I have stood before.”
“Yes.”
“I promise I remember how.”
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously.
“The stairs are still questionable.”
"Questionable? Lucian those are the most stable status in the whole pack!"
"Not after we did some maintenance checks." I countered.
From the doorway Auron shouted,
“I removed the loose board!”
Kale added from where he was on the dining table.
“He inspected them twice!”
She blinked slowly, a look of exasperation on her face.
“You inspected the stairs?”
Jake, who had joined us a month ago, grinned as he walked in, crossing his arms proudly.
“Safety first.”
Kieran nodded solemnly.
“We have a rotating schedule for that.”
She looked at me in disbelief.
“…Rotating schedule?”
I cleared my throat.
“Someone is always nearby and ready to do it...it's not like I forget them or anything like that..”
Her eyes widened even more.
“You assigned guards to me?”
“No,” I corrected. “We volunteered. Besides, it made sense for people you were familiar with to guard you than other pack members who you don't know."
She opened her mouth to argue but then she paused, her eyes going warm.
"You're ridiculous. But you’re my ridiculous.”
I melted instantly.
"I love you too."
"I just want to go hang out with Eleanor and Talia, I feel like since I got pregnant, I've been hanging around you guys way too much." She walked away, I continued watching her, almost having palpitations. "Its like I don't even have females around me. Thank goodness, Mirabel is coming tomorrow."
Yeah, Mirabel was coming tomorrow, Eli couldn't come because he's alpha same with his mate, Ariel. And as for Shawn, he also can't come too because of his beta duties. But I'm glad that she will have her close friends with her. The Pack members also knew, along with other packs. Some have been coming, to congratulate us on her pregnancy.
Two nights later, I woke up unable to breathe, not because of danger. But because Aurora was practically on top of me. Her leg was over my leg, her arm around my waist and her face was pressed into my back. How did she even get to such a position?
"Aurora..." I called her softly but she only groaned then went back to sleep.
But I could suddenly feel her wolf stirring inside her.
'Mine.'
I blinked at the rough and at the same time soft word laced with possession.
“…Hello?” I whispered to her wolf.
'Mine. Closer.'
“She is literally fused to me.” I grumbled, did she want me to be melded to her.
Her wolf growled softly in my head.
'Closer.' She demanded.
“There is no closer!” I fiercely whispered.
Then Aurora groaned sleepily, without opening her eyes.
“Stop arguing with her…”
I blinked at her.
“She’s threatening me.”
“She’s hormonal, the baby wants it.”
“That’s still not comforting.”
Her wolf gave a possessive rumble and she somehow scooted even closer.
Aurora opened her eyes and nuzzled my cheek, I followed suit with a light growl.
“I think she’s just extra protective,” she whispered.
“Of me?”
“Of the baby. You’re the baby’s father.”
I felt stupidly proud.
“Oh.” I cleared my throat, wrapping my arms tightly around her. "Then let me do my job."
I rested my hands gently over her stomach.
She suddenly gasped.
"Do you feel that?"
I froze.
"Feel what? Are you okay? How do you feel?"
"No." She shook her head and guide my hand. "There."
It took a few seconds but I felt it. A tiny flutter, a kick. My entire body went still with complex emotions I couldn't describe.
"That's..." My voice choked up.
"That's our blueberry." She whispered.
My throat tightened, I swallowed.
"The baby moved."
She nodded.
"She did. I think she likes your presence."
A smile bloomed on my face.
"That's my baby. You recognize your daddy's voice, don't you? Do you think its a girl?" I noticed she had addressed the baby as a 'she'.
She smiled, shrugging.
“I feel like it is. What do you think it will be?"
I pressed my forehead to hers.
"I'm okay with anything as long as you're the one giving birth to our baby. Boy or girl, I'll love them equally to the best of my ability."
"If its a boy, what do you propose we call him?"
I raised my head in thought.
"I really don't know...I never thought of it. If Desmond had been my father and a good father, I would have named him that..."
"Not a chance." She shook her head.
"I know. And...I can't call him 'Lucian' can I?"
"Lucian Junior?" She giggled.
"Nah. Kieran is going to hate it, he will want to have a say in the naming process of his godchild."
"Okay. Then what about if we have a girl?"
The name came instantly to me.
"Luna "
"Luna?"
"Yes. She's going to be strong just like you and brave just like me."
"The way you are saying it almost feels like you can visualize her already."
I shrugged.
"Its strange, I just feel Luna is a name we are going to name a child of ours. I don't know if its going to be this one,or another one. But one thing is for sure, Luna is a name we must have in our lives."
She sighed, rubbing my arm.
"Luna it is."
I kissed her softly on her forehead.
"Good night."
"Good night."
