CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-NINE
AURORA'S P.O.V
Auron closed his eyes, a look of concentration on his face. At first, nothing happened, but then, a faint glow began to emanate from his hand. The glow grew brighter, and the air around him began to shimmer.
Suddenly, flames erupted from his palm, dancing and flickering like a living thing. The room was filled with a warm, golden light, and the scent of earth and smoke wafted through the air.
Auron's eyes snapped open, and he stared at his hand in shock. "What...what is this? I...I did it. I did it!"
Loud cheers went up in the room from almost everyone, even Kieran and Lucian were smiling but I know Lucian's smiled was coming from a place of relief. That he had no need to be scared that Auron was going to try to take my powers again.
Ariel smiled, her eyes shining with excitement as she clapped her hands giddily.
"Your powers, Auron. You're a pyrokinetic, with a connection to the earth. It's because of the twin bond with Aurora. She's Nature and lightning, and you're fire and earth."
Auron stared at his hand, mesmerized by the flames dancing on his palm. He looked up at Aurora, a grin spreading across his face.
"I have powers," he whispered, awe in his voice. "I'm not just a normal guy anymore."
Ariel continued.
"The reason why you hadn't gotten your powers were because you didn't actually need it at those times. But now, reunited with your twin, the twin bond has recognized the fact that you need to be one with your true self, so hence your powers. All you needed to do was to reunite with her and you could have gotten them a long time ago." She suddenly sagged, Eli caught her swiftly.
"Ariel?" He said her name worriedly.
She shook her head and smiled up at him.
"I'm fine, I just get a bit dizzy when I get into people's essence. But I'm glad I was able to help."
Auron and I smiled gratefully at her, I spotted dimples on his cheeks. Not fair, I always wanted dimples.
"Thank you so much, for guiding me."
"Yeah, thank you, I'm glad you joined our crew of friends."
"I'm glad too, and your welcome." She giggled.
I noticed Auron's grin slowing fading away, anger creeping in his eyes, for a minute I was scared he was going to turn his back on us.
When he balled his fists and shook his head.
"I need to go back."
I gasped, shaking my head.
"No. Why do you need to go? Please don't go, I just got you back."
"Yeah man, why do you need to go?" Jake asked, his eyes narrowed suspiciously.
His eyes softened as he stared at me, he took my hands in his large ones and squeezed softly.
"I need to ask Elder Mikhail why he did all these. Why he put me against you and why he lied to me all these years. And also...if saving me...was just a plot of his."
The room fell silent, and everyone exchanged worried glances. Lucian stepped forward, his voice calm but firm.
"Auron, I don't think that's a good idea. We should take our time and plan this out. We don't want to mess it up."
Auron blew out a breath impatiently.
"That's problem. I don't think I can rest until I find out the truth. I need to know...and I need..." He stopped, his eyes holding complex emotions as he continued staring at me. Immediately I understood what he was feeling, this twin bond is actually nice. Then something came to my mind, I remembered that he could read my thoughts but I couldn't read his. I wonder if I can do that.
'...how do I let you know how sorry I am for everything I did to you...I'm such a monster...I could have taken the time to get to know you better before deciding to side with Elder Mikhail. Once I find out the truth, then I can try to make you forgive me.'
I gasped, jumping in shock and joy, I could hear him! And just when I thought about it. Auron looked at me in alarm, his hands tightening on mine.
"What is it? Are you okay?"
"Aurora! Are you okay? What happened?" Lucian asked at the same time.
I let out a squeal of joy as I grinned at Lucian, then I faced Auron and hugged him tightly.
"A...Aurora?" He called my name softly, shock in his voice.
I pulled back and smiled at him, tears coming down my cheeks.
"Auron, I forgive you. You are not a monster."
He frowned, looking confused.
"What? But I didn't..." Then his eyes went wide, his grip on my hands more tighter. "Aurora...you heard me? You can hear me?"
'Of course I can. Hi.' I nodded at him while answering in my head.
His eyes went as huge as saucers, a grin immediately plastered on his cheeks as he pulled me into his arms.
"I can hear you! You can hear me! I'm so glad. This means we're truly complete. Hi!" He shouted happily.
"I know!" I jumped in his arms, strpped back and held his face. "And Auron, please don't beat yourself. I really don't hold anything against you, okay. Elder Mikhail is the one to blame. I'm sure if I were in your shoes, I would have done the same thing. Okay? So don't let me ever hear you call yourself a monster again."
Talia asked with her hands on her hips.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Can anyone explain to me what's happening? What are they talking about?"
"Lucian, what are they talking about?" Griffin asked.
Lucian shrugged, a clueless look on his face.
"I have no idea."
"But you are her mate, how do you not have any idea?" Kieran blurted out, a smug look on his face. "I thought you guys are supposed to tell each other everything. Guess its not what I thought, oh well. It turns out being a "brother" is more important." He snickered.
Lucian hissed and glared at him.
"Kieran! Shut the fuck up. And it because...Because...because..." He frowned then turned to me with a pout on his lips and his eyes twitching. "Aurora, what's happening?"
