Chapter 158 158

Chapter 158 158
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT

AURORA'S P.O.V

Lucian nodded, his face stern.
"Yeah, for that, I sympathize with you. But it still doesn't mean I'm letting you take her powers. It also means we have to put our claws into this Elder Mikhail, its obvious he never had good intentions from the start."

Auron nodded slowly, his hair flopping in front of his face.
"No wonder, I thought it was strange the way he didn't want me to interact with you or even speak with you alone. And when I tried to ask him about the letters, he wasn't happy at all and became too defensive." He cursed softly. "Shit. No wonder he never addressed me by my name, he never saw me as family. I'm so stupid."

Anger coursed through me, I clenched and unclenched my fists, my breaths coming out in trembling puffs.
"Even if he never saw you as his family, that's fine. Because you are my brother."

A sob escaped me and I flung my hands around him, holding him tight to me. But just as I hugged him, something strange happened.

I felt a sudden surge of energy emanating from him. It was like a tidal wave of power, crashing against mine. I gasped, feeling something in me reacting to him. It felt like something that had been gone was finally coming back to me.

"What's happening?"

"You're seeing what I'm seeing right?"

Auron's eyes widened as he felt it too. His eyes glowed with an intense red light, and his body began to shake. The air around us seemed to vibrate with energy, and I could feel a sudden surge of energy coming from him.

"What's happening?" someone shouted, but I couldn't tell who it was. My focus was on Auron, on the event that was unfolding before my eyes.

His body began to glow, a bright golden light emanating from him. It was like a supernova, exploding in the room. I suddenly felt my powers going rampant, like they were excited about something. It was like they were...my powers were reacting to him.
And then, it stopped.
I heard shocked gasps behind me, suddenly I felt someone yanking my hand hard and dragging me away from Auron.

"Aurora! Aurora are you okay?" Lucian asked me frantically as he looked me over, his hands searching my body. I couldn't answer him, I had to check on Auron.

"I'm fine. Auron, are you okay?" I rushed to him.

He was panting harshly, his body frenched in sweat and the chains that had been holding him were miraculously off him. I shakily reached out to touch him but Lucina held me back.

"Don't touch him Aurora, we don't know what just happened, it could have been a trick from him."

I shook my head fiercely, "No, its definitely not him and I know that because I can feel it. In my blood." I turned to him and desperately called out. "Auron...please say something."

He lifted his head and looked at me, I gasped taking a step back.

"Auron, your eyes...they're golden."

His eyes widened.
"My eyes are g...golden?" He unconsciously reached to touch his face, then he looked at his hands. "The chains."

"Whatever happened just now must have blasted them off you." I told him.

Lucian pulled me beside him.
"What happened, Auron? What did you do to her?"

He shook his head dazedly, getting to his feet slowly.
"I...I didn't do anything. I have no idea what happened, I swear."

Lucian stared at him with narrowed eyes, looking like he still need more answers.

"I believe him." Kieran suddenly said, stepping forward. "I don't like him but he's telling the truth. He has no idea what happened."

"Then what was that? Can anyone please try to explain it?" Griffin growled, "I need to know that nothing dangerous happened to her, that our Luna is safe."

"Griffin, I don't think she's hurt though." Talia pointed out softly, her gaze accessing me.

"Auron, how do you feel?" I asked him carefully.

He moved slowly, towards me, until he was standing close enough to reach out to me, I could see his hands twitching, as if he wanted to hold me but was hesitating to do. I felt sad that he was unsure of how to approach me.

"I feel weird." He said slowly, his voice deep and a bit slurred. "Not in a bad way...but in a good, kind of like I feel complete way, if that even makes sense."

Then Ariel stepped forward, her eyes shining with excitement. "Auron, stretch out your hand," she said, her voice filled with a quiet confidence.

Auron looked at her, confusion etched on his face.
"What? Why?"

"Ariel, what's wrong?" Eli asked her gently.

With her eyes still on Auron, she answered.
"I sense something in him has changed, shifted. It's like he has realigned himself with who he was meant to be"

I tilted my head confused.
"So in otherwords....?"

She grinned.
"He has finally gotten his powers."

I gasped.

"How...how do you know that?" Auron asked in disbelief, staring at his hands.

"Ariel is a white witch, so if she's saying this, I think you should believe her." Eli replied.

Auron shook his head rapidly.
"No, it can't be. I don't have any powers, I've been wishing for them all my life, this is impossible. Are you sure?" He asked her eagerly, hope and fear mixed in his eyes.

I clasped my hands together.
"Oh, this would mean a lot if he gets his powers. Not just for me but for him too."

Ariel smiled, her eyes sparkling.
"You do, Auron. You just don't know how to access them yet. But I think I can help."

He hesitated, but Ariel's enthusiasm was infectious. With a lught shrug of his shoulders, he stretched out his hand, palm up, and looked at Ariel expectantly.

"Call out your powers, Auron," Ariel said, her voice soft but commanding. "Reach deep inside yourself and call out to the twin bond. Your sister is waiting for you."
