CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX
AURORA'S P.O.V
"I suggest next week." Griffin said.
Lucian contemplated it, his eyes squinted.
"Next week is good, but what day?"
"Thursday."
"Why?"
Griffin rolled his eyes.
"In case you might have forgotten, the next full moon is on the Thursday, I keep track. It will give more credibility to the Luna ball. And also, if we send out the invitations now, they get a week, which is enough time to prepare and arrive by then. Killing two birds with one stone."
"Oooh." Talia griined at him and caressed his head. "That's smart, my sexy beast."
"You know you can't call me that here." He said as he leaned forward and kissed her softly. "I might just go feral on you."
"Ahem!" Eleanor cleared her throat, giving them pointy glares. They separated immediately, blushing.
"I agree with him." I nodded.
"Me too." Eleanor nodded.
Talia shot her hand up.
"Count me in."
"I agree too." Lucian nodded, pleased. "Now that all is settled, we just have to prepare and wait for the show to begin."
"Can't wait..." Talia winked at me, "...to finally put you in a dress."
"Oh dear." I whispered under my breath as I turned away from her.
We didn't waste time in getting ready there the ball. More like Eleanor didn't waste time. She held a meeting with the pack members the next day and announced that the Luna ball was going to be held, much to the celebration of everyone who felt it was long overdue, I felt flattered to be honest.
Starting from there, Eleanor and I supervised the helpers scrubbing the pack hall floors where the Luna ball was going to be held, until they shone and glittered. They also arranged lots of beautiful flowers for the centerpieces, I had worried that the flowers would wilt before the ball but Eleanor had assured that they had been sprayed with a special something to make them stay longer. As for Talia and Griffin, they were busy with writing the invitation letters to be sent out to other packs. It didn't make sense to me, I mean, we were in a digital era for crying it loud. Why not just call them on the phone instead of all that stress. But Lucian had told me, again, that it was seen as the basic tradition. You don't invite alphas to important events like this without a ceremony letter.
Two days to the party, Talia and I were outside, thinking of the next task to do even four big, shiny cars pulled up in front of us.
Talia looked at me, her face tight with confusion.
"Are we expecting any guests?"
I shook my head.
"Not today. I wonder who they might be. Though they can't be enemies."
"Why do you say that?"
I pointed towards the edge of the building.
"Because the men Lucian put I'm charge of watching me haven't done anything yet, do they have to be people we know."
The cars came to a stop, and one by one, their doors opened. The person to come out suddenly rushed towards us.
"Aurora! Talia! I'm back again!"
Talia and I stood up, squealing loudly as well ran to hug Mirabel.
"Mirabel! Oh my gosh, its so nice to see you again."
"We missed you so much."
She squeezed us with both her hands.
"The feeling is so mutual right now. You guys don't know how much I've missed you." She pulled back, the grin on her face so wide and her eyes shine with so much happiness. Her hair was packed in a high ponytail that brushed her waist. She pulled back and stared at Talia. "Bestie rival! You look stunning, love the hair."
Talia preened and tossed her hair which she had dyed a sharp red.
"Thank you, bestie rival, love your hair too. Its giving mermaid, ethereal vibes."
"Aww, thank you." They both giggled, I couldn't stop smiling as I stared at them, when she suddenly gripped both my hands, her eyes carefully went over my face.
"I heard you were kidnapped, by a psycho claiming you be your brother. I heard everything. He should be lucky you aren't injured, I would do rush back there and let him have it, then i would get back and let you fight for me."
I laughed out loud
"I know you will always have my back, but don't worry, I'm perfect."
"You definitely are, the hair is still giving. Man, what I would do to have your eyes, those swirling pools of gold." She squeezed my hands even more, clearly excited.
"Mirabel, I think you better let her go, you're practically squeezing the poor girl. And I'm sure her bodyguards are getting antsy."
Someone called out, I looked and saw Eli and Jake, along with a young woman, my eyes widened in surprise. Its her, he finally came with her. Eli's mate, and she looks so happy and beauty, at the same time shy as she walked beside him, her hand in his.
"Eli! Jake! Shawn! And Ariel Nasuri, if im correct? You guys are here too." I exclaimed as I ran to give each of them a hug. When I got you Ariel, I beamed at her. "Hi, I'm Aurora, its nice to finally see you again."
She smiled softly at me, her teeth gleaming.
"Hi, its nice to meet you again. At least you aren't a statue." She joked.
I threw back my head and laughed, remembering that Statue episode, even Mirabel and the rest laughed while Talia looked confused.
"I'll explain to you later." I whispered to her, she nodded, satisfied with that.
"You have a good sense of humor, I like you." I told her then pulled her in for a good hug.
I pulled back at stared at each of them.
"I never knew you guys were coming early, its life two days you the party, I was actually thinking you would come on that day."
"And miss helping you guys? No way. Its more fun when we work." Jake
shook his head.
Eli and Shawn nodded.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Besides..." Eli raised his chin, crossing his hand, "Lucian says there's something he wishes to discuss with us. He even made us bring something from our pack."
I frowned, tilting my head. I didnt know about that.
"What thing?"
Mirabel shrugged casually.
"Oh, just something to neutralize someone."
