CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-ONE
LUCIAN'S POV
I held Aurora tight, breathing in her scent.
"My Aurora, you're back."
She trembled in my arms, her voice muffled against my chest.
"Lucian."
We stood there, trees swaying. I pulled back, cupping her face. It was a good thing I had gone out when my wolf had insisted it. Though at first, I had been annoyed with him for trying to push me to do something, but then I changed my mind when I immediately felt her presence.
"What happened? How'd you escape?"
Her eyes dropped, tears clinging to lashes as she smiled at me.
"You have my wolf to than for that. Willow teleported me."
My eyebrows went up in surprise.
"She can do that?"
"Yeah, its a surprise to me too. I just found out."
"But I thought you wanted to stay there for a while, and do whatever it was you wanted to do."
She shook her head quickly.
"I changed my mind after I found out the reason he took me. Turns out he didn't even want to reunite with me."
I frowned.
"Then why were you kept? What did he want?"
She hesitated, biting lip.
"He… wanted my powers."
My grip tightened on her, alarmed and confused.
"Your powers? Why?"
"Because he doesn't have powers like me at all."
I frowned, tilting my head to the side, more confused.
"I thought he's your brother, twin. He should have awakened his just like you."
She nodded.
"I know. But he said he only got the hair color and the eyes, his are red not golden like mine. He also said I 'didn’t deserve them, because I only used it to do bad things like Killing Desmond and taking his pack."
"So he is just like Desmond, again with wanting your powers."
She nodded, lowering her eyes. I brought her clapsed hands to my lips and kissed them softly, she let out a sigh.
"Its alright, he will never get to you."
She let out a choked sob.
"I mean, I was finally happy that I had a sibling, I had hope we could be...you know...siblings. But then he blasts me with the raw truth and I just couldn't stay there anymore. He wouldn't even listen to my own side of the story. He sees me as the villain, a sister who turned away from her brother when he reached out for help. And he thinks Desmond was the good guy and we killed him and took his pack away from him ."
"Its okay."
"How am I supposed to tell him the truth if he won't even let me speak. I hate him....I hate him so much..." I let her head fall on my shoulder as she cried, her hot tears soakedy shirt and embraced my skin. I kept running my hands up and down her back in soothing motions while whispering words of ensurance in her ears.
"I'm not even sure if he's really my twin or my brother like he claims."
I took a deep breath.
"What do you think? You say you feel a connection with him, so do you think he's lying?"
She was quiet for a while then she let out a wail.
"Of course he's my brother and that's...that's what makes his words and actions more painful for me." She kept on crying. "I'm sorry,...I didn't mean to cry like this. I just....I just..."
"I know, I know. I'm your mate, you can let go in front of me anytime." I kissed her forehead, staring into her misty eyes that were now slightly red and puffy from crying. "I'll be here, always."
"Thank you." She smiled a watery smile. "I love you."
My chest suddenly felt light, I grinned at her.
"And I love you too. Let's go back to the pack. Talia will be ecstatic to see you."
She nodded, squeezing my hand lightly as I led her back to the pack house.
"Auroraaaaaaa!!!"
"Oh boy, here comes the avalanche." I muttered under my breath as I watched Talia buldoze her way through the pack house as soon as she saw Aurora.
"Taliaaaaaa!" Aurora squealed back, her arms spread wide, ready to receive her best friend.
"You know, I'll leave you two to it. Bye."
She mock gasped, her hand on her chest.
"You traitor."
I grinned, making a quick turn so I could get out of the house.
"Ladies first."
I headed to find Griffin.
As usual, he was in the gym, running on the treadmill. As soon he saw me, he slowed down.
"Hey."
"Hey." I greeted back casually trying to hide the grin from my lips.
He tilted his head, his eyes curious.
"You're hiding something."
"I'm not hiding anything." I shrugged.
He scoffed.
"You are, look at your lips, they are curling at the corners. You are holding back a smile." He crossed his arms. "Tell me."
"Aurora's back."
His eyes widened, he moved closer, a grin blooming on his face.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Then where is she?" He looked behind me, checking to see if she was trailing back.
"She's with Talia, they are catching up and I suggest you give them some time alone before you go to see her."
"No problem, I'm just glad she's back. Kale and Kieran will be glad to hear this. Have you told them?"
I shook my head.
"Not yet, I'll do that later. I think now Kale can have his peace of mind."
He laughed, nodding.
"Yeah, you're right."
Kieran and Kale had left a few days after we spoke to Aurora. But he did made sure to remind to tell him when she comes back or if anything new comes up. I better keep my promise. But first I had to let Griffin know what Aurora told me about Auron.
"I have something else to tell you about."
He nodded, attentive.
"What is it?"
"About Auron..." I began.
He sat straight and stared at me with a serious expression on his face.
"What about him?"
"He wants her powers."
He frowned, his eyes hard.
"Her powers? Why?"
"He doesn't have powers."
The frown got deeper.
"I thought they are twins, and from the same clan. He should have saved powers she has, right?"
