Chapter 138 138
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT

AURON'S P.O.V

I left her room and walked back to mine, anger and hurt coursing through me at the thought of her sitting there, staring into my eyes and lying to me. Why can't she just admit it? I slammed the door shut and pressed my clenched fist against to keep from roaring. My room only has the necessities, my king sized bed, a side table, my wardrobe, the bathroom and the stained glass windows. The mild lighting in my plain room contrasted with the roaring heart at the end of the room. I sat down with a huff on my bed, If only she would just admit her wrong and then ask for forgiveness, I'm ready to forgive. But she keeps claiming this balderdash story about not having any idea, not receiving the letters or waiting that one. She claims not to know anything. Elder Mikhail was right, she was such a vicious and devious person, definitely not to be trusted. If she and her mate can kill an alpha just to take away his pack then she can look me in the eyes and lie to me. If I hadn't already been aware of the truth, I might have fallen for her lies. And to think she was my twin sister. I will never forgive her, since she won't admit or apologize, I'll take what makes her powerful from her. All I just have to do is to be patient, the time is coming. And we better be fast too, because I'm sure her crazy mate is going to be searching for her. I need to get what I want before he finds her.

"I just have to wait and then you will no longer be relevant anym..."

"Alpha."

"What!" I snapped in annoyance at the interruption.

"Elder Mikhail wants to speak with you."

My eyes lit up.
"Is it about the research?"

"I don't know alpha."

I frowned, prying the door open to stare into the eyes of one of my men, his face as usual was covered.

"Then tell him to come in, do not dwaddle."

He quickly bowed, "Yes Alpha." Them he left.

I let out an impatient sigh as I went back into my room. Many people seemed to think that the reason I make my men wear mask or why I wear a mask is to keep ourselves mysterious. Well, that's not the only reason. I do not want to get attached, neither do I want anyone to get attached to me. I'm afraid...no, I'm worried that if we get too attached, something bad might happen and then it will end up in pains for both parties. I have lost friends that I got attached to while growing up and up till now, the pain of there deaths, losing them still haunted me to this very day. I only pulled off the mask for her to see my face. She can get attached if she wants to, but I doubt she will considering how wicked and evil she is.

"Alpha." A knock sounded on the door again, it was Elder Mikhail.

"Come in." And be quick about it too, Elder Mikhail has an annoying habit of taking things too slow. The door opened slowly, and in walked a man, also wearing a plain mask with the same black outfit my men wear. I could see the color of his hair that peeked out from his hood. Gray and brittle, confirming his old age. He certainly took his time as he shuffled over to me, I almost groaned out of frustration.

Sometimes I wondered if I should just grab the man over to me do he doesn't waste my time much. But what can I do, he's close to the only father figure I ever had. His average height was complimented by his medium bulk building. Proving that he had certainly been an active man in his prime.

"Alpha." He bowed low, his voice a raspy drawl filled with age and wisdom....I guess. No matter how much I insist, he still won't call me by my name. I pulled off my mask and dropped it on the bed, he was the only person I let see my face.

"What news do you have? Are we close? Can we get it from her anytime soon?" I did my best to keep the eagerness out from my voice but I guess it must have shown in my eyes because he smiled softly.

"Soon Alpha, soon. We are almost reaching the final step. I just wanted to let you know the last ingredient we would be needing."

I stared at him, waiting for him to continue, when he didn't, I growled.
"And what, if I may ask is this ingredient?"

"Oh yes, sorry I forgot." He cleared his throat. "We need her blood."

"Huh...?" I backed at the thought. "I mean, blood? Why?"

He gave an obvious shrug.
"By inseminating her blood into the object, it will become much easier to connect to her and take what is needed. Alpha."

"Hmmm". I hummed in thought, turning away from him as I stroked my chin.

What he said sounded logical, it made sense, if it had to be done. But then, why was I feeling so...uneasy about taking her blood.

"By any chance..." He began, inching close behind me, his voice curious. "...are you hesitant to take her blood?"

"Well...", I couldn't answer.

"If you are worried, it is only just about a pint of blood and will not lose any danger to her."

I turned to face him, my eyes narrowed with skeptism.
"Are you sure? Nothing will happen to her?"

He stared at me for a while, his brown eyes behind the mask narrowing.
"Are you perhaps, worried about her?"

"No, I'm not." I replied immediately.

"Then why do I feel that you might be worried for her in a soft kind of way."

I crossed my hands, letting out a growl, my voice hard.
"I'm not worried about her. I just need her to be in one piece so that I can return her to her blasted mate."

He nodded, his eyes finally relaxing.
"That is much better. You cannot care about her or worry for her. If she deserved your worry, she would have heeded your call when you reached out to her. She is not a good person. She doesn't deserve any sympathy."

I nodded silently, letting his words sink in even though something in me was fighting the idea of what he had painted her to be. My thoughts went back to her words when she says she had never received any letters. I've never doubted him before, I mean, he was the one who found me and taught me everything thing I know. Me being here is all because of him, but...that feeling kept nagging at me. Maybe he made a mistake.

"Elder Mikhail?" I called his name carefully.

"Yes Alpha."

"By any chance, are you really sure that she got those letters and returned them herself."
