CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SIX
LUCIAN'S POV
The link suddenly went crazy, a lot of static sounds. I got alarmed.
"Aurora...Aurora are you there?"
Then I heard Griffin's footsteps in front of me, he placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Lucian, what is it?"
I looked up at him, my eyes zeroing on his face.
"Aurora."
Kieran immediately opened his eyes and turned to look at me.
"What about her?"
"She just contacted me...through the mate link."
"Really? She did? Is she okay? How did she sound? Tell me."
"Talia calm down, Lucian, how was she? Did she tell you where she was?" Mom asked me, her voice urgent as she took Talia's hands in hers.
I nodded.
"Yeah, she said she's fine but..."
"But what?" Kieran growled.
"She's not great, she sounded like she had been crying, you know. And she was about to tell me something she discovered but the link went off."
"Did she tell you where she was? We can go find her." Griffin asked.
I shook my head, letting out a shepherd smile.
"Actually, she told me not to come looking for her yet. Something about her wanting to handle it....I don't know."
Kieran snorted and shook his head, relaxing back on the couch.
Kale blew out a deep breath,his hand on his chest. His eyes finally shinning.
"Thank goodness, she's safe. I was so worried."
Kieran glanced at him, sighed then gave me a pointed look.
"And I told you to wait and not do something stupid. What did I tell you, huh? Almost went crazy on me."
I glared at him.
"You have become a bit mouthy huh, Kieran. What happened to your cold mask that you always put on."
He shrugged and grinned, I blinked in shock, even Griffin and Kale stared at him in shock.
Talia and Mom stared at everyone in confusion.
"What's happening? Why are you all staring at him like that?" Talia finally asked, her eyes moving from him and back to us.
"Because he's smiling, grinning." Kale whispered.
Her eyebrows went up.
"And that's strange...how?"
Griffin crossed his arms.
"He never smiles or grins."
"Just a slight, tiny or non existent quirk of his lips." I answered.
Kieran clicked his tongue, rolling his eyes.
"That was before when I still had my demons and hatred about what happened to my pack and family before. But now, I've done to leave it all behind." He flashed another grin at us, we all gasped.
"I think I liked you better when you were cold and unwelcoming." I muttered.
He closed his eyes again, letting his head back go rest on couch..
"Don't worry, this is not every time, just for a few special occassions. Like right now, we know Aurora is safe." He frowned, his face reverting back to usual, that's better. "And I would really like to know what she wantd to tell you."
"Me too." I nodded.
I heard static again, someone cleared her throat.
"Aurora?"
"Right here." Her voice sounded cheerful.
"How long have you been there?"
"A while now and I heard everything. Please tell Kieran that I'm happy for him. Now we just need to find him a mate."
I looked at Kieran.
"Aurora says she's happy for you..." I stopped there.
He stood up, his face alight with joy.
"She's back on? That's great."
And he totally ignored what I just said. Whatever, back to Aurora.
"What were you about to tell me? Something about what you discovered."
"Yeah, so..." She took a deep breath, at least her voice sounded much better, no trace of crying. "So get ready for this okay."
"I'm ready." I stood up to prove it.
"So, I just found out I have a brother."
"A brother?" My eyes went wide in disbelief.
"And he's my twin."
"Your twin!" I blurted out loud, my voice loud.
"Who's a twin?" Talia asked.
"A twin?" Griffin asked.
"Where is the twin?" Mom asked too.
Kale and Kieran looked at each other.
"What's a twin?"
We all turned and stared at them, our mouths agape in shock.
"What?" Kale asked, a smirk teasing on his lips. "I thought we were all doing the "WH" question."
"Trying to light up the mood, no hard feelings." Kieran smiled.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I miss the old Kieran, please bring him back.
"Please go on, Aurora."
She hesitated for a long time that I thought the link had been cut off, but then she cleared her throat.
"It's someone we know."
"Someone we know..." I mused, who do we know. I glanced at everyone in the room, It can't be anyone here, none of them looks like Aurora. Then it hit me, my chest stilled. "No way. It can't be!"
"Yes...its Auron."
"Auron!!!" I yelled.
"Auron???!!!" Everyone immediately chorused after me, mom on her feet.
"Lucian… I found out…he's my brother. Twin."
I stood still, frozen, unable to wrap my head around what I just heard, just in time for the link to go off again.
"No… what? But how?" Mom gasped. "Why?" Mom palmed chest. "Desmond never mentioned twins, I was there when he brought only Aurora, there wasn't another baby with him or did he lie about this one too?"
"How is she sure he is her twin?" Kieran growled. "For all we know, it could be a psycho trying to fool her."
I shook my head.
"No, I heard her voice. She was convinced and sure, she sounded very shocked by the news. If she believes it then its true. A twin."
"Who would have known." Talia mused, "So...this means there are two of her? Or her and him."
"But I don't get it, how did she have a twin and we didn't know?" Mom sounded baffled.
"There is a more serious issue here." I growled. "If he is her twin brother then why did he kidnap her? Why does he want her?"
"Maybe he wants to reconnect with her?" Kale answered with a shrug. "You know, siblings things. I know I would want you if I found out I had a twin sister or brother."
I shook my head dubious.
"Not this way, his method is a bit off, don't you think? If he wanted to reconnect with her, all he just had to do was to come here and speak with her right? That's the logical thing to do. But this...he literally kidnapped her and told me not to do anything stupid or she might die. That is not normal." I was still not over the warning he had given.
"Let's just hope he is not like Desmond and doesn't do something stupid. That child has suffered enough." Mom said with her hands clapsed to her chest.
I nodded, blowing out a breath just as my wolf growl at me to do something.
"I hope so too."
