CHAPTER THIRTEEN
AURORA'S P.O.V
I woke up to a bright room and a white ceiling. The room lolked strange and unfamiliar to me so I blinked a few more times befire raising my head but had to groan and give up.
"Hey, hey, take it easy. You shouldn't try to stress yourself."
I looked up at the voice that suddenly appeared by my side.
"Lucian?"
I narrowed my eyes and glared at him at him.
"Where am I and what am I doing here...with you?" My voice went high at the end.
His eyesbrows furrowed together as he tilted his head.
"You don't remember what happened to you?"
"What happened to me? What are you talking about...oh"
I gasped as soon as I began to remember, the scary feeling of being chased by the three men that night sent a cold shiver up my spine. My eyes quickly darted to him.
"Three men, they were chasing me...but I can't remember anything else. I hit my head and I think I fainted."
He nodded, his face relieved, I frowned.
"Were you...are you the one who..."
His lips quirked, "Who saved you? Yes, luckily I arrived in time to tear those bastards to shred. They will never hurt you again."
I bit my lips, feeling conflicted right now. I didn't like him because I knew he was a jerk but I didn't expect him to save me.
"Well...thankyouverymuchforsavingmylife!"
I rushed out then turned my face away.
"I'm sorry, what did you just say!"
"Nothing." I mumbled.
A soft chuckle escaped him, "I think just heard you say thank you for saving your life."
I grunted in affirmation.
"Well you are welcome."
"Whatever."
He cleared his throat, suddenly seriously.
"By any chance, did you find out the reason why those men went after you?"
I stared at him, his face was solemn and seriously as he watched me, patiently waiting for an answer.
My mind flicked back to their conversation, they came after me because they didn't want me, and Omega as their Luna. This didn't concern him, he doesn't need to know.
"No." I shrugged. "I didn't, all I just remember was them attacking me immediately they saw me. Maybe they were just bored or something."
He looked at me with narrowed eyes, his face hard.
"Anyway, where am I?"
"In the pack house, in my room."
My eyes went wide and I gasped, I made to sit up but get pushed me down gently.
"Are you crazy? Why did you bring me here? Take me back right this minute. Do you want to put me in trouble?" I bit out in a harsh whisper.
Something flashed in his eyes, fear and anger.
"You are safe here, I'll protect you until you can go home. But for the time being, please let your body heal. Do not make your wound bleed."
That's when I remembered the pain at my neck, I gently touched my neck to feel a thick bandage there, I guess I was lucky. But still...
"Fine, I'm only staying here for today. Tomorrow, I'm out, got it.".
He raised his hands in surrender.
"Got it."
Then he went quiet and suddenly it felt awkward for the both of us. He rubbed his face wearily, I noticed the dark eyebags under his eyes. Did he sleep at all last night?
"Well, I guess I'll leave you now. The maids will being you something to eat, please eat and rest."
He stood up and headed for the door, I watched his tall frame move, then he stopped and faced me, a finger pointing at me.
"Do not try to run. I may have been a playboy...but now that I have you, I promise to be yours, only yours." His eyes bored deep into mine.
I cleared my throat quickly, averting my gaze.
"I can't even if I wanted to." I pointed at my neck with an obvious tone in my voice.
He grunted then closed the door.
I sighed as I stared blankly at the ceiling. From my peripheral vision, I could see the layout of the room. Black walls, organized books on the shelves and a tidy wardrobe.
The room was totally different from how I had imagined might be. You know, clothes strewn everywhere, shoes laying in different places.
"Ironic, isn't it.".
The door opened and two middle aged women stepped in with trays. They helped feed me and for once, I was tired of eating. They asked if I needed anything before they left but I told them I was already okay. I could see the disgruntled look on their faces. They hated serving me, an Omega.
I quickly fell into a deep sleep and had the stranger dream. In that dream, I was standing in front of a huge fire, and I was watching as a war scene played out in front of me.
Suddenly, a huge, black wolf was rushing towards me with its fangs exposed ready to devour me. I tried to move but I couldn't, just as it reached my neck, I screamed and woke up.
My body was wet with sweat as I sat up gasping for breath. The fear I had felt in the dream was still coursing through me.
"What kind of a dream was that?" My hand flew to my neck, I noticed that I felt no pain and I was sitting up.
"Weird."
I slowly moved my legs until I was out of the bed and on my feet. I recognized a door as the bathroom and went in. The bandage was off in seconds and I stared in shock at my clean neck, no bruises.
"How? This has never happened before."
I whispered with a trembling voice.
As a wolf shifter, we had enhanced healing abilities, but my healing as an omega was very slow compared to normal people. Even a cut on my finger could take a day to heal, so how did this happen. My mind was still in chaos as I stepped out of the bathroom.
"Arrrrgh!"
I screamed like a banshee as my head collided with a man, and it wasn't Lucian.
"W..who are you?"
His face was shadowed by the dim lights and his eyes glowed in the dark, his lips raised in a sneer.
"What are you doing here?" He growled, his hand moved, that's when I noticed he had a knife in his hand. I tried to move but I seemed to be petrified.
"W..what?"
"You...you are not supposed to be here. Not alive."
Then he raised the knife and rushed at me.
"Help!"
