Chapter 119 119

Chapter 119 119
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETEEN

LUCIAN'S P.O.V

I took my eyes off her, frowning as I faced the man who was already shifting on his feet.
"Two alphas from two packs. Did they tell you their packs?"

He shook his head with a guilty look on on his face.
"I'm sorry Alpha, I was so much in a hurry to tell you that I forgot."

"Just great." I sighed, rubbing the area between my eyes.

Aurora folded the envelope in two and put it securely in her pocket, then she tapped me on my hand,  looking at me with calendar in her eyes.
"It's alright, lets go see who they are and what they want."

I let out a low growl, feeling frustrated because I really want to know what was in the damn envelope.

"Fine, let's go." I turned to Griffin. "Griffin, tighten the security, then join us once you are done."

He curtly nodded.
"Yes Alpha."

We got into the car and drove quickly along with our messager, to the pack hall. The meeting hall loomed ahead, its wooden doors open wide in waiting for us. I led the way, my eyes scanning the surroundings as the pack’s guards fell into step behind us. Inside, two men stood tall, their entourages of men and women respectively, flanking them. They were imposing figures, but I didn’t miss the subtle signs of unease they showed, shifted glances, clenched fists. Neither did I miss the lustful way they stared at Aurora, a growl ripped from my chest before I could stop it. But at least it got them to look away. The more I stared, the more they're faces became familiar, like ive seen them somewhere.

"Oh..." I nodded gently, sharing a look with Aurora, she looked at me with question in her eyes.

"They are familiar, I know them." I leaned down and whispered.

She nodded in realization.
"Ah, I see."

Like I thought, I knew them, they were alphas who had once visited this pack when Desmond had held an all Alphas meeting. Back then I hadn't been too focused on what he did so I never increased with them. I guess today is the day I do.

On the left side of the meeting hall was Alpha Victor, a rugged man, now in his late 40s with a chiseled face and piercing green eyes, he stood with an air of confidence. His dark brown hair was flecked with gray at the temples, and a small scar above his left eyebrow hinted at a past battle. Then on the right side was Alpha Ryder, a younger man in his late 30s with ice blue eyes and a lean, angular face, looked like he was trying to prove himself.

I led Aurora to stand beside me as I faced them, my arms crossed across my chest, my eyebrows raised, waiting for them.

“Lucian Vanguh,” Alpha Victor said, stepping forward. His voice was deep, but I detected a hint of strain. “I am Alpha Victor of the Shadowpeak pack."

"And I am Alpha Ryder of the Ravenwood pack.” Alpha Ryder spoke, stepping forward too.

I nodded, my expression neutral, my eyes scanning them intently.
“What brings you here?”

Victor cleared his throat. “We came to apologize. For not standing with you when Desmond attacked..."

"...and for backing Desmond's games...concerning the woman, Aurora.” Ryder finished.

My wolf snarled and urged me to let him out so that he could tear their fleshes off their skin to pay for what Aurora had to go through. But Aurora’s hand tightened around mine, a silent warning. I squeezed back, keeping my focus on the alphas.

“We understand our mistake,” Ryder added, his eyes darting to Aurora, staying for a bit too long. “We’re here to make amends. And to propose a peace treaty, one that benefits all our packs.”

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite myself. “Go on.”

Victor smiled, his teeth gleaming. “We’re willing to offer…gifts. Women from our packs, strong and fertile, to strengthen our alliance.” he pointed to the women on his and Ryder's side, I glanced at them, just noticing that they were all young and beautiful women. "We haven't heard of you announcing a Luna, so maybe you would like one to serve as your Luna?"

Aurora’s grip on my hand turned painful, she was angry, definitely mad. I knew she wanted to say something, but I beat her to it.

“Sorry,” I said, my voice cold. “I already have a mate. And she’s not interested in sharing.”

The alphas exchanged a look, their smiles faltering. Victor’s eyes narrowed. “A mate? No one said anything aboyt you having a mate."

I shrugged, a smirk on my lips.
"Well, I do."

I raised Aurora's hand and pulled her with me to my seat and placed her on my Laps after I sat down. Their faces immediately went pale, they're eyes wide, I could tell Aurora was glaring at them.

"We never knew she was your mate. You mean you took her after your ordeals because of her special powers?" Ryder asked, his face a cloud of jealousy.

I frowned, not liking his reaction pr question.
"Correction, I didn't take her, the goddess gave her to me as my mate and she graciously choose to accepte as hers. Why would I want her just because of her powers? She was mine before I even knew about that."

Victor shook his head, his eyes disappointed.
"You’re making a mistake, Lucian. We’re offering you power.”

She quickly stood up, stepping forward, her eyes flashing.
"You have overstepped your line and I suggest you both leave. Now. All of you.”

Victor blinked and regarded her with a mixture of anger and annoyance.
"He says you are his Luna, why don't you just sit down and let the alphas talk. This is beyond you right now."

Oh oh. He didn't just say that. I shook my head and made myself comfortable, knowing what was about to come.

"Did you just say this was beyond me?"
