CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
Griffin's eyes widened as he saw me standing in front of his cell, keys in hand.
"Lucian, what are you doing?" he whispered urgently, getting to his feet.
I smiled, a fierce gleam in my eyes. "It's time, Griffin. It's time to take back what's ours."
He paused, then without another word, he nodded and stretched his chained hands to me, a grin spreading across his face. "Start with this first." More grin spreading across his face. "Let's do this."
I grinned too, quickly opening his cell, then unlocked the chains around his neck and hands.
He dipped his head back, taking a huge deep breath as he got back his strength and his wounds healed at a fast rate.
"Alright..." He moved his neck side to side, a fierce gleam in his eyes. "What do we do first."
"Here." I handed him the keys. "Free the others while I go free the women and children. Once you're done, select the able bodied men and head out to the pack borders, use the other route not the main one. There, Kieran and Aurora should be waiting for Desmond, we can ambush him there. I'll take the women and children to safety."
He nodded sharply.
"Okay..."
But just as I was about to dash off, he caught my hand. I looked at him with question in my eyes. He swallowed slowly, a nervous expression on his dust-covered face. His eyes bored solemnly into mine as he asked.
"Did you see Talia? How is she?"
I placed a firm hand over his.
"She's fine. Don't worry."
He let out a relieved breath, his lips trembling.
"Thank you."
I gave him a nod then turned and ran off to where the women were.
I took down a lot of his guards that I met on the way. It was so easy now that I had gotten back my strength. I moved on, my sight set on freeing my mother and the others. Finally, I reached the door, the two guards were still standing guard by the door. I growled as I faced them.
"Out of my way."
They immediately tense up and pointed their weapons at me.
"So childish." I scoffed then rushed to them at a super speed that caught them off guard.
"How did you..."
I didn't let them finish. I caught them by the throat and snapped their necks. They were dead in seconds, I dropped their bodies unceremoniously to the floor and pushed the door open with a bang. I couldn't let the other guards in there know what was happening so I increased my speed, running from one guard to the other, taking them down until all the twenty something guards were dead.
"Mom!"
I rushed to her, throwing my hands over her painfully thin body. She was still for a second, then I felt her hands close overy back while her body shook with tears as she robbed.
"Lucian. My son. You're here."
"I'm here mom, and I'm taking you out of here." I stood up from her grasp, placing my hands on her cheeks. "All of you."
She let out a weak laugh, still holding tightly onto me.
"I knew you would save us, even after I saw that he had you bound with chains. I knew you could still do it "
"Um...excuse me...this reunion is nice abd all but what about Desmond?" Talia's nervous vouce cut through.
I straightened and scanned my gaze over the place, the women and children now had relieved smiles on their faces but still stated at me with nervous eyes.
"He's occupied for the time being. Come on, lets get you guys out of here and in a safer place."
I led the way, my hands around mom.
"What about Aurora?" She asked me gently, tugging my hand.
"Yeah, hpw is she? Is she here with you?" Talia asked too from beside me.
I nodded.
"She's fine, she and Kieran shoould be waiting for me right now."
We left the room and kept on walking until we reached the enrance of the dungeon. When we stepped out, they all cheered, while covering their eyes from the bright ligjt. I noted that it was morning already, the sun shone bright in the sky.
"If only I can think of somewhere safe." I muttered, suddenly at a loose after realizing that I had nowhere to keep them.
Mom clapped me on the pack and pointed to the direction of the pack house.
"Follow me. Lets go to the pack house."
I shook my head.
"I don't think the pack house is safe."
The corner of her lips lifted slight, her eyes shone.
"Just follow me."
Talia and I looked at each other then shrugged. Silently, we followed her into the pack house and into the large sitting room.
"Wait here."
She walked towards a large paintng of a lake with a beautiful sunset on the wall that had been there since I was little, then she lifted her hand and tilted it a little. We heard a rumbling noise and suddenly, a passageway revealed itself just behind the wall where the painting had been. I stared at the secret passage in shock, tgen looked at mom.
"Whoa! Has this always been here?"
"Mmmhmm!" She nodded, a proud smile on her face. "I discovered it a long time ago but because of him, I haven't had much time to use it. There are three hidden rooms in there, all empty and they are big enough to hide us all, maybe too big. Is this okay?"
"More than okay. Alright, everyone, follow her in there and wait until I come back for you."
They all nodded and steadily went inside, when it was mom's turn, I hugged her tightly.
"Wait for me, mom. I'll make sure i make you proud."
"I'm already proud." She whispered into my ears then turned and entered into the passage.
I watched as the stone door closed slowly, until the wall was back in place and the picture was straight again. The weight of their safety finally lifted from my chest, I let out a deep breath and headed out.
"Alright, Desmond. It's time for you to meet your end."
