Chapter 43

Lila’s POV.

“Fuck!” I cussed as I stretched my hands. My thighs still ached from my sexual moment with Kyril. He slept on the bed with what looked like a smile, but that was the least of my problems as I stood, walking, limping instead to the window.

The sky was still dark like it was night, but I knew I could not remain here as it was tricky. Longer nights and shorter days could play a trick on the mind if you never understood it.

I knew any moment I spent here was more time for Alpha Hector to realize who I was spending time with.

“Where are you going to this early?”

I turned towards the bed at the voice. Kyril had sat up with his hands rubbing his eyes. I walked to his side, sitting next to him on the bed while I took his hands.

“I have to go,” I said as I rubbed my hands against his. The fire still burned from last night, although it was dying out to just coal.

“It’s still too dark to leave,” he said as he grabbed me, pulling me to his side.

I chuckled as I let him pull me, falling on his chest. It felt warm and his heartbeat was steady, like a lullaby lulling me to remain by his side. “I do not want to leave, but I cannot remain here and risk your father finding out about us.”

He sighed, taking out a deep breath as he rubbed his hands around my body. “But it is still early to leave at this time.”

“This is the best time to leave,” I said as I pulled away from his body, dropping the sheet to the bed. I knew his eyes watched my every step as I picked up my gown.

“There will be no wrong if you spend a few more minutes with me.”

“We do not have that time to afford.”

I could feel him leave the bed, walking next to me as I held the gown to myself. His hands grazed my back, causing goosebumps to grow over my skin. His breath was hoarse, but it was gentle as it blew against my skin as he laid his head on my shoulder, swaying me lightly.

“It doesn’t matter what time we have. I still want you to spend a few more minutes with me,” he cooed in my ears. I could feel my legs buckle at his words while my thighs watered once more, aching for him.

“Do you think I don’t want that as well?” I asked as I pushed him away, turning to face him with a smile.

He returned the smile, but his eyes were still dropping like he wanted to sleep. “Stay with me if you want to stay.”

I shook my head, placing a finger on his lip. “Your father would do more than hurt me if he found out I was with someone.”

“You weren’t with someone. You were with me. We can find a way to take his mind away from us,” he said as he nipped at my fingers, biting his lower lips before he dropped his lips on mine.

I grabbed his hand as my body called for a bit of action. I pulled away, using my head to block him from continuing. “When we have enough to face your father.”

He smiled as he fell back to the bed, using his elbow to prop himself upwards. “So, I guess you have to leave?”

I nodded my head as I slipped the gown over my head, moving towards him to help me tie the strings. He did as his fingers grazed my skin, causing me to moan. I fell on him after I was sure he had tied it properly, placing a kiss on his lips.

I pulled away to look at him. He had his eyes closed as his lips called for me to continue with what I did. “Wish this could last for a lifetime.”

“I do too.”

I pushed myself away from his body, moving under his watchful gaze until I was standing in the hallway. My heart pounded in my chest as I walked towards my room.

There was a possibility of getting caught which I did not want to encounter as I reached the room. I muttered a brief prayer to the goddess as the door remained unguarded. It only meant the guards responsible had not come to take their station.

I held the doorknob, pushing it slowly, so it was not to make a noise. The flame in the fireplace crackled with the snores of the alpha. It was enough cover for me as I pulled off my clothes, soaking it in a bucket of water to hide the scent.

The bathroom was my next destination as I washed my skin to remove any scent that’d link me back to Kyril. I let myself loosen up after I was sure my body no longer held his scent, even when I wanted to smell like him for a while.

“There’s no time for me to sit idly here,” I said to myself as I pushed out of the tub, cleaning my body as I walked out.

“Where have you been?” Alpha Hector said as I came out of the bathroom.

I stopped, startled by his voice with my hand on my chest. “In the bathroom,” I said, pointing to the bathroom while I hoped my dropping hair made him leave the matter be.

He shook his head as he laid back on the bed, holding his hand on his forehead while squeezing his eyes shut. I knew it was because of his drinking and he had a hangover as I walked over to the wardrobe, grabbing any piece of clothing I could get.

“Did Kyril ask for me?”

I froze with my hand over the clothes. “Kyril? I doubt he came into the room without the guards coming in here to inform us,” I said, swallowing hard while I tried to hide my fear.

He sighed, throwing his legs to the ground. “I could have sworn I caught a wisp of his scent in the room when I woke up.” He placed his nose high in the air, sniffing. “And now, it’s gone.”

“Maybe you still have his scent on you from yesterday,” I said, suggesting it for him not to continue with his investigation.

He waved his hands at me as he pushed himself from the bed. “He wasn’t with us. I doubt I’d have his scent on me.”

I shrugged my shoulders, avoiding his eyes as I walked to the other side of the bed to dress up. He came after me, causing me to jerk as his fingers touched my skin.

“You still have the smell of alcohol on you,” I said, hoping he’d stop in his tracks and consider having a bath.

He shook his head as he moved closer to me. “What’s the need of having a bath when I’d still end up dick deep inside you?”

My heartbeat rose faster, thumping against my chest with each step he took closer to me. “It’s over.” It was the only thing I could tell myself as I waited for whatever would follow next when he came closer and realized his son’s scent came from my body.

“Alpha.”

He stopped, turning towards the knocking. “What’s the matter?” He asked as he walked towards the door, opening it to a guard.

“We have a messenger from your beta, Ryan.”

He growled as he turned towards me. “Tell him I’m on my way.”

I let out a breath of relief as I strapped the clothes properly over my body, walking towards the door before the guard left.
