Chapter 35

Alpha Hector’s POV.

She lay on the bed, sleeping like she never cared about what was happening around her. She turned as she saw me, placing her body for me as she had done for almost two weeks now. The act was more of revulsion to me now, as I felt tense.

I walked up to her, sniffing the air for any scent that differed from hers or mine. The only scent different from her I could pick was the man who lit the torches in the castle.

“He could be the one she cheated with on me,” I thought as I walked to the bed, pulling her closer to me.

It was still in the early hours of the morning, but my body wanted what it wanted as I grabbed her by the neck.

“Who are you sleeping with?” I asked, watching her choke on my grasp. “Tell me! Is it the man who lights the torches in the castle?”

“No one,” she said as she struggled against my hand while she fought for air.

“I will ask him, and if he is guilty of this. I assure you; he would not live to see another day while you will seek for death. Hades will lock the gates of the underworld to prevent you from entering when he realizes what I plan on doing,” I said, dropping her to the bed.

She fell to the bed, gasping for air as she rubbed her neck. “You will find nothing from the man as he has done nothing but work diligently for you,” she said, removing her clothes to expose her immaculate body to me.

My body acted differently, ignoring whatever thoughts my mind had as my dick pressed against my trousers.

I pulled her closer, turning her around to expose her juicy pussy to me. A moan escaped my lips as I pushed my dick inside her. I stroked her—feeling it slippery to my thrusts. My dick seemed satisfied as I could feel it thrum with every stroke.

I dropped to the bed, panting for air after spilling my cum inside her. My dick, pulsating to its flaccid nature while she dropped straight to bed. I turned away, placing my hand under my head. Sleep came not long after, dragging me into the unconscious zone.

The sun struggled to rear its head out of the darkness when I rolled myself out of her bed. I turned towards the sleeping lady. She no longer held the fear and dread she had when she came new to my pack.

I could tell something felt off about the whole incident as I stared at her body. “Maybe I’m just overthinking,” I said to myself as I dropped my feet to the ground.

The tiles were cold, an impending warning of the child yet to come. I walked to the fires, watching the dying rivers in the early hours of the morning. Yet I could not shake the feeling I was having toward her.

I turned to look at her unblemished face. She had the look of someone who never cared about what I did. It felt like she had something in her sleeves that she could use against me, but I did not want to let her go. She was a trophy to me, a price that needed to work its value to me.

I turned away, shaking the thoughts away as I slipped into my clothes, wrapping my jacket around my shoulders before I left her room.

Torches burned at different ends of the hallways with soldiers performing their duty of patrolling. “Was she happy with the way I treated her, or had she found someone who made her happy?” I thought as I made my way to my room.

I groaned, scrunching my fingers as the guards stationed at my door opened it to let me through with a bow. There was only one person who could tell me more about the things I noticed, as she would have spent more time with her than anybody else — Helga.

A guard ran into my command, lowering his head as I called out for one. “Tell Helga to bring my food to my room. Have her bring the meal inside herself.”

He nodded, rushing out of the room to execute my order. It took another hour before she walked into my room with a tray of food and some maids behind her.

The aroma of the food wasn’t enough to take my mind off those thoughts as I waited for the maids to arrange the dish in front of me.

She waved her hands to the maids, gesturing for them to leave the room. They obeyed with the door shutting with a thud, leaving just me and her in the room.

“You called for me alpha.”

I nodded as I pushed my seat towards the table, picking up the utensils, only to stare at the food as I wondered what to say. The food was delicious as usual as I took a spoonful, letting my mind first clear any doubt before I spoke.

“What do you think about Lila?” I asked as I sliced my knife into the chicken's lap, pulling it out when I found it free.

“She’s a girl who just wants to prove she can do anything.”

“Not that.” I raised my hands to stop her, dropping the utensils onto the plate. I pushed it away, feeling the urge not to eat wrap itself around my throat.

“If my lord would explain better. I believe I can give the answer he seeks if I have it,” she said, lowering her head.

I sighed, folding my fist under my jaw. “There’s something different about her recently. It looks like she found something that none of us here has found. Like she has some kind of glow to her.”

“She’s always had that glow with her. Ever since she came to the castle. She had overlooked everything happening, settling properly within the castle, except……”

I raised my eyebrows. My ears twitched to hear what information she had hidden within herself.

“Except recently I have seen her with a radiant smile,” Helga said, placing her hand under her jaw as she thought about it.

“That’s the same thing I’ve been trying to say,” I said, snapping my finger at that eureka moment.

“I just thought that she’s having a bit of luck on her side and is making the best of it.”

“Someone doesn’t just get happy out of the blues like it was there,” I said, jerking off my seat to stand.

Lady Helga shook her head, dropping her hand to her side as she seemed to have gotten the gist of what I thought about. “I doubt she could ever do that.”

“Trust is a fickle thing, but there has to be something happening. You can feel it too as you saw the glow yourself,” I said, kicking against the wall.

“If you need me to keep watch over her. I will do so.”

I shook my head at her proposal. “There’s no need for you to disturb yourself with such,” I said as I raised my head to look at my reflection staring at me from the mirror. “Whatever she hides. I will find it.”
