CHAPTER 23: I AM YOURS
CHAPTER 23: I AM YOURS
HARRY.
I smile, remembering Ali's blushing face. She truly is beautiful, especially when she turns red like an apple.
"Mr. McBride," I hear Rebecca's voice calling me from the other side of the door.
"Come in, Rebecca," I say, raising my voice so she can hear me.
"Mr. They called from the photography agency that did the photo shoot for your wedding and covered the entire event," she says.
"What did they want?" I ask curiously.
"They want to know where to send the photographs and videos of the event."
"Tell them to send them to the reception, please."
"I thought you'd want them sent to your apartment," she says nervously.
"No, have them bring them here. Have them put the package in your name, and you can bring them yourself," I say with a serious and authoritative tone.
Rebecca nods and leaves my office. I continue with my work until a brilliant idea crosses my mind, so I take my phone and dial Allison's number.
"Hello?" I hear Ali's sweet voice on the other end of the phone.
"Hey!" I respond excitedly. "What is my young and beautiful wife up to?" I ask playfully, and I hear Allison's laughter.
"I'm at my parents' house. They invited me for breakfast," she responds seriously.
"I see. Ali, about our plan for tonight..." I pause to see if she says something, but she doesn't. "Are you free this weekend?" I ask nervously, eagerly awaiting an affirmative answer.
"Uh... yes, why?" she asks seemingly unconcerned.
"I'd like to spend this weekend with you in a very special place for me," I say nervously and a little embarrassed.
"Sure!" she says with excitement in her voice tone. "When are we leaving?"
"Today, at the same time we agreed to meet," I reply, and she makes a small sound.
"When will we be back?" she asks curiously.
"I don't know, we'll find out when we're there," I say playfully.
"Okay, I'll wait for you at the apartment. By the way, what should I bring?"
"Just bring clothes and everything you need for about three days," I reply, and she makes a sound of surprise.
"Uh... you caught me off guard. Alright, see you in a while," she says nervously.
"See you, wife," I say, and then I hang up.
I start smiling like a fool and continue with my work.
After a few hours, I remember that I haven't packed my bags, so I call the apartment number to check if Ali is there. Valentina answered and tells me that she hasn't returned yet, so I decided to go to the apartment to pack my bags.
I arrive at the apartment and pack my bags quickly. After finishing, Valentina tells me that she has made something for me to have for lunch, so I hurry to eat before leaving before Ali arrives. I don't want her to know that the idea of leaving just occurred to me.
After finishing my meal, I return to the office and try to wrap up any pending tasks so that I can leave without any worries.
A few hours later, it's almost five in the afternoon, and I inform Rebecca that I'll be away for the weekend. I tell her to contact me if there's anything urgent and if there's nothing urgent, not to disturb me.
I leave the company and get into my car, driving towards the apartment. Suddenly, my phone starts ringing. I glance at it and see that it's a call from my mother.
"Not now, Mom," I say with a sigh and promptly turn off my phone.
I arrive at the building, excitedly rushing inside. I reach the door of the apartment and enter immediately.
"Ali?" I call out as I make my way up the stairs.
"Up here," I hear her voice saying, and I quickly ascend.
"Are you ready?" I ask upon reaching the door of her room.
"Yes, just put these suitcases down, and we're good to go," she says, pointing to two suitcases twice the size of the one I packed.
"Planning to stay a year there?" I sarcastically remark, and she gives me a little shove.
"I don't want to be missing anything," she says, pouting in a way that truly makes her look adorable.
"Alright. Let me help you with your bags," I say and proceed to take the two suitcases, which are heavier than I expected. "Are you carrying rocks?" I joke, and she gives me a playful push.
Under the stairs with their suitcases, and then I go back upstairs to get mine. As I pass by her room, I see her in front of the mirror fixing her hair and clothes, she looks nervous but also cute and beautiful.
I realize she's about to turn around, so before she does, I quickly make my way to my room.
After a few minutes, we packed all our things into my car with the help of Luck and Valentina.
"If my mother or anyone from my family happens to come or call, just tell them we'll be back on Sunday afternoon and we'll get in touch with them," I tell Valentina, and she nods.
"See you on Sunday," Allison says, waving her hand.
"Take care and have fun," says Luck, and Valentina just smiles and waves.
I get in the car and start driving, glancing at Ali who seems curious and nervous.
"Are you okay?" I ask, keeping my eyes on the road.
"Yes, but I would like to know where we're going."
"It's a surprise, I'm sure you'll like it," I reply, and then I play some music while she rolls her eyes and smiles.
A couple of hours later, we're about to reach our destination. Surprisingly, I stop the car in the middle of nowhere, and she looks around and then at me.
"Did we arrive?" she asks, concerned.
"No. I want you to do something for me," I say, taking a handkerchief from the glove compartment.
"What is it?"
"Let me blindfold you. I want this to be a surprise in every sense of the word," she looks surprised and maybe a bit scared. "Do you trust me?"
"Yes."
"Then?"
"Alright, do it quickly," she says, giving a little jump.
I adjust myself in my seat and ask her to turn so I can blindfold her with the handkerchief, and she complies. Once I finish, I start driving again until we reach my grandparents' beach house.
It's a beautiful house and it brings back many pleasant childhood memories.
I look at Ali, and she can't stop moving in her seat. I smile and approach her to kiss her on the cheek, surprising her and making her cheeks blush.
"We've arrived," I say and get out of the car. "Let me help you out."
I walk to her door and open it, taking her hand to help her get out and guide her to the entrance of the house.
"Already?" she impatiently asks. I stand behind her and start untying the knot.
"One, two, three..." I say, and completely remove the blindfold from her eyes.
I gaze at her intently, and she turns around, hands covering her mouth and eyes wide open.
"It's beautiful!" she exclaims, muffling a scream and running towards me.
She wraps her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. I hold onto her legs, trying to maintain balance so we don't fall.
"I love it!" she says, smiling.
"And I love you," I say, causing her cheeks to turn as red as an apple, and she buries her face in her arms and my neck.
"You smell so good," she says, lifting her face and leaving her lips just inches from mine. "This could be our home."
"You are my home," I say, and then I kiss her sweet and soft lips.
This time, her lips taste like cherries, and our kiss is both sweet and passionate.
I would love to show her how much I like her by kissing every inch of her skin, but I know it's not the right time yet. I'll be patient and wait for the perfect
moment to fully give myself to her and for her to give herself to me.
