Chapter 161: Ironclad Jail is Catherine's Territory

Chapter 161: Ironclad Jail is Catherine's Territory

Why look for them sooner or later, but just happen to look now?

Marcus snorted coldly.

"Then go find Felix. I don't believe he's out traveling too."

As for who Bethany's mother was, Marcus already had an answer in his heart, but he needed more evidence!

The Howard Mansion.

Marcus looked at Felix lying on the sofa playing dead.

"Felix! Get up! Answer my questions clearly!"

"What are you freaking out about? How would I know what you're talking about? When Elodie had her accident, I was more upset than you. If you had taken better care of Elodie back then and let me marry her, she wouldn't have suffered her whole life!"

Marcus sat on the sofa and let out a heavy sigh.

"I just want to know one thing - did Elodie give birth to a child back then?"

Felix rolled over, hugging his custom-made body pillow, refusing to say anything.

"What happened back then was my fault. I didn't expect Elodie was still alive, and I didn't expect Bethany wasn't her child."

This "her" naturally referred to Lila. Marcus and Lila had reached the point where they didn't even want to mention each other's names.

"She lied to me. At the time, I didn't realize Bethany was my child but not hers. For the child's sake, I married her."

"If I had known Elodie was still alive..."

Felix said irritably, "You talk too much. If you really care about Elodie, then properly investigate what happened back then."

Marcus said seriously, "Felix, I came to find you because I suspect there's more to Elodie's incident. When she had her accident, she was at Vinehill Hospital. I checked - Catherine being switched at birth and Evander's wife's accident both happened at Vinehill Hospital!"

Hearing this, Felix sat up with a flip.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and locked gazes with Marcus. The business empire leader who once dominated the scene and the battle-hardened general seemed to return in that moment, the air freezing instantly.

"Speak clearly. What did you find out?"

"There's definitely something wrong with Vinehill Hospital. The hospital director was caught last month by international police for meeting with Eli in Imperia City. He's now at Ironclad Jail. He knows everything!"

Felix nodded and began to speak boldly.

"I'll make arrangements, but neither of us can leave the country, let alone go to Ironclad Jail. Going in person is impossible, but this matter is too important. Let Alexander go. Although Alexander is young, he handles things carefully. Have Catherine go too. It'll help build their relationship!"

As Felix spoke, he happily imagined the scenario, getting more excited.

Maybe when they come back, they'll be holding a baby!

Marcus suddenly stood up, his cane striking the floor with a loud sound.

"Are you sick? Don't you know what kind of place Ironclad Jail is?"

"If anything happens to Catherine, I'll put you in a coffin early! Catherine is so young, and you want her to go to such a dangerous place. What are you thinking?"

Ironclad Jail was in the most dangerous location, with violence and bloodshed happening every moment!

Even Marcus himself felt uneasy about that place, let alone sending the seemingly delicate Catherine there.

If anything happened to her, the whole Windsor family wouldn't survive!

Felix glared at him dismissively.

"Sit down! I'm trying to talk to you properly, don't push your luck."

"I haven't finished talking yet. Why are you rushing?"

"Just have Alexander go with her. With Alexander following you, aren't you reassured? I guarantee you, with Alexander there, Catherine will be absolutely safe. Besides, Catherine is the child Elodie raised. As long as she wears Elodie's bracelet there, Ironclad Jail is her territory."

Hearing this, Marcus calmed down again.

Felix persuaded him, "Catherine's identity isn't awkward. If you really send your son or grandson, they'd be dead before even getting in. Don't I want Catherine to be safe? I'm still waiting to see her marry Alexander!"

Marcus suddenly stood up and walked toward the door without looking back.

"What do you mean? Are you agreeing or not? Give me a straight answer so I can tell Alexander!"

Marcus cursed irritably.

"I'm going back to call Timothy Wallace. If he dares to make things difficult for Catherine, I'll blow up Ironclad Jail!"

The Windsor Mansion, Marcus's study.

An exquisite tea set sat on the desk, with fragrant tea rolling in the teapot, filling the room with aroma.

Catherine rolled up her sleeves to make tea, revealing slender wrists with an exquisite bracelet.

Her tea ceremony was elegant and composed, beautiful and professional, without spilling a single drop.

Even Marcus's sharp eyes were amazed, feeling both proud and admiring!

Marcus picked up a cup of tea and tasted it carefully, tears glistening in his eyes.

"Your grandmother taught you?"

"Yes, my grandmother loved drinking tea."

Only Elodie could make tea with this flavor. After Elodie left, Marcus never drank it again.

He put down the teacup and spoke solemnly.

"Catherine, I was a bit hesitant about something, but now I've made up my mind. There's something I'd like to ask you to do."

"Please go ahead."

After Marcus finished speaking, Catherine's face showed surprise and confusion.

"I know this sounds dangerous. I promise I'll make sure you come back safely! Alexander will protect you the whole time. Are you willing to go?"

Catherine was just surprised that Marcus would arrange for her to go to Ironclad Jail.

Even without Marcus saying so, she and Alexander would have gone to Ironclad Jail anyway.

Catherine nodded in agreement.

"I'm willing to go. This matter relates to what happened to Elodie back then, and to my and Juniper's background. I'll get to the bottom of it. Don't worry."

Catherine smiled with a slight dimple at the corner of her mouth, her smile beautiful and sweet.

"Grandpa, I want to show you something."

Catherine took out the paternity test report Dubhe had sent and placed it on the desk.

Marcus seemed to anticipate what it was, his hands trembling slightly as he picked up the report. Looking at the data, he looked up excitedly and incredulously.

"Is this Elodie's and Bethany's?"

"Yes. When Elodie was sick, I kept her DNA sample and did a data comparison. Elodie is Dad's biological mother."

Marcus both cried and laughed.

Looking at Catherine, Marcus felt mixed emotions!

The child Elodie raised was truly the best child in the world.

"I feel guilty that you didn't grow up in the Windsor family from childhood, but I thank you for always staying by your grandmother's side. Catherine, thanks to you, I don't have so many regrets!"

He could imagine the scene of Elodie and Catherine depending on each other all these years. He knew Elodie must have loved Catherine dearly, and Catherine was a good child. It was wonderful that Elodie had Catherine's company!

The tears on Marcus's face hadn't dried when the study door was pushed open by Bethany.

He looked at Catherine, then at Marcus, and spoke righteously.

"Dad! I don't agree with Catherine going to Ironclad Jail!"
