Chapter 137 Catherine Is Simply a Devil
Oliver had it all figured out in his head.
He was even starting to plan what he'd ask Catherine when he saw her in a bit.
He had to find out what kind of people Catherine's biological parents really were. If they were actually rich, he'd definitely ask them for some benefits.
As for that ten billion dollar contract, if it really existed, since it was prepared for them anyway, it wouldn't be too much to ask him to take it, right?
With that money, the Smith family's troubles would be solved immediately. It wouldn't be a waste of all those years they'd raised Catherine!
Dubhe felt like throwing up looking at Oliver's happy, smiling face.
Hold it in! There are still lots of surveillance cameras here, don't hit anyone here.
Dubhe took several deep breaths and pushed Oliver toward a small grove of trees outside the hospital.
Ever since he was dragged into a grove and beaten up last time, Oliver now had psychological trauma about groves of trees.
"Where are you taking me? If Catherine is here, can you have her come out to see me? Look at my health—it's not good. I won't go in, okay?"
"Better go in. She's inside."
Oliver didn't quite understand.
Waiting for him? Could Catherine be deliberately waiting here?
Dubhe stopped in the grove and looked up. "The person's here."
Oliver looked up in confusion, only to see Catherine standing on a tree branch not far away, dressed in a black trench coat!
She had a slender figure, her hair tied up with the hair tie George gave her, exposing her neck. In the dim night, her gaze was cold, like a queen of the dark!
Oliver instinctively swallowed!
"Catherine? What are you doing up there playing ghost in the middle of the night?"
Celeste was also startled by Catherine!
For some reason, seeing Catherine like this, she felt like her breathing had stopped!
Strange, yet filled with mysterious danger—even looking at her felt like desecration. Was this really the Catherine she'd never taken seriously?
Celeste felt a bit scared, her voice trembling.
"Catherine, are you waiting here for us? We really miss you. Come home with us, okay?"
Oliver chimed in: "Right, right, come home with us. It's too hard for you to work outside alone. Come home with me and enjoy life. We've even arranged a marriage for you."
Oliver glanced at Brent behind him.
Brent stared at Catherine standing in the tree, his eyes practically glued to her!
She was absolutely gorgeous!
He knew Catherine was pretty before, but he didn't know she could be this beautiful with a little effort. She was like a dark night spirit—her legs in those boots were long and slender. Just standing there without saying anything, Brent couldn't look away!
"Catherine, I've always liked you. Don't worry, come back with us and we'll get along well."
Such a beautiful woman had to be his!
Catherine looked at the family before her and smiled mockingly.
"You like me? You just want me to help you pay off debts, you idiot. Can't your family afford a mirror? Look at yourself—dirty and smelly!"
"Oliver, do you even believe what you're saying? I'm not a three-year-old child."
She stopped believing these words when she was three!
This was the first time Oliver heard Catherine call him by his name directly, and he got angry.
"Catherine, we raised you all these years, and now that's our fault? Let me tell you, you're coming back with us today and living properly with Brent!"
"We raised you all these years—you need to pay us back for that. Not asking for much—I know your parents in Tranquil County got some demolition compensation. Just give me ten million dollars."
Catherine's red lips curved in extreme mockery!
Oliver was truly shameless.
Still thinking about getting money from her.
"Every extra second I look at you makes me sick!"
Catherine leaped, flipping gracefully from the branch. Her calf kicked against the trunk and she landed steadily.
Her coat flared like a skirt, tracing a seductive yet dangerous arc in the dark night, like Death's scythe cutting a gap in the darkness!
This move left Oliver and the Brown family stunned.
When did Catherine learn these moves?
Was it from climbing trees a lot in that small mountain village as a child?
She stood under the tree and walked toward Oliver step by step.
Meeting Catherine's ice-cold gaze, Oliver felt his heartbeat becoming irregular, as if the owner of those eyes would tear him to pieces!
"What do you want? Let me tell you, I'm your fa—"
Before he could finish, Dubhe covered his mouth with a gloved hand from behind!
Dubhe looked disgusted: "So noisy, and saying such awful things. Shut up."
Oliver's eyes widened. The Brown family members beside him had somehow already closed their eyes and passed out, lying scattered on the ground!
When did they make their move!
Catherine walked up to Oliver and calmly put on thin medical gloves.
She took out a small knife, flipped it in her hand, and stabbed it directly into Oliver's thigh!
Oliver almost bit his own tongue from the pain!
Catherine took out a syringe and said flatly: "Don't worry, didn't hit the main artery. You won't die yet. But if you keep harassing me, I can't guarantee how long you'll keep that life of yours."
Being merciful to Oliver was entirely for Elodie's sake.
But that didn't mean she'd be merciful once and be merciful every time!
Catherine's cold, indifferent eyes frightened Oliver. Meeting those icy pupils, he felt the blood in his body freezing.
When did Catherine become so terrifying?
After drawing a syringe of blood, Oliver was already in so much pain he was about to pass out, but Dubhe still covered his mouth, not letting him scream!
Mars walked up from behind and casually sprinkled some plant ash on Oliver's wound.
"Picked it up by the roadside. It can stop bleeding, just not sure if you'll survive."
Seeing the black ash sprinkled on his leg, Oliver passed out!
Dubhe disgustedly removed his glove and stuffed it into Oliver's open mouth.
"So disgusting. Boss, are you heading back to the lab? Leave these people to us to handle?"
Catherine put away the collected blood and glanced coldly at those people.
The Brown family were old acquaintances of hers.
They'd harassed her and Elodie plenty in the past. When Elodie wanted to send her to school, the Brown family stole the tuition Elodie had saved for her, nearly making Elodie cry for days.
How could she forget these things?
"You handle them. Remember to leave them alive. When I have time, I still need to settle accounts with them properly."
"Okay, you go ahead."
Catherine nodded and disappeared into the night.
There was an art exhibition tomorrow. Going to the lab now probably wouldn't work, but getting the DNA report early would let her know what Elodie had been hiding from her.
Catherine thought for a moment, then mounted a pure black motorcycle parked by the road. Just as she put on her helmet, someone suddenly appeared in front of her!
