Chapter 119 Regret Marrying You the Most!

Chapter 119 Regret Marrying You the Most!

Andrew looked at Lila, who was completely lost and panicked in front of him.

He had been following Marcus for many years and had watched them go through everything together.

Over the years, countless people had urged Marcus to consider divorce, all because Lila was just too disgraceful!

When they were at the military base, Lila actually tried to set up a blind date between a female officer and her nephew. The officer only held back her anger out of respect for Marcus, and it nearly turned into a huge mess.

As for secretly taking things from the military base to help support her family - that was a whole other story!

Marcus's divorce application was approved quickly, also because Lila's character was so poor.

"Has Marcus lost his mind? We've been married for so many years! I need to find Bethany!"

Lila immediately took out her phone and called Bethany.

As soon as the call connected, Lila's tears started falling - she was genuinely panicking!

"Bethany, has your dad gone crazy! He actually wants to divorce me!"

Bethany was just taking Marcus's wheelchair from Catherine, heading into The Windsor Mansion.

"That's good news. You should have divorced long ago. Don't worry, after the divorce I'll send you to Novia for care. The nursing home is definitely the best. I've also contacted a university in Novia for Esme, so she can settle down and go study there."

They really were going to send her and Esme away!

Lila panicked immediately. "No, Marcus can't treat me like this. I'm your real mother, you're my son, you have to take my side! You can't let Marcus bully me like this! Did I raise you for nothing?"

Bethany had been worn down by Lila over the years and didn't have much fight left in him.

"Mom, sometimes I wonder, how did you suddenly become like this? When I was little, you weren't this kind of person."

Bethany just meant it as a casual remark, but it unexpectedly made Lila angry on the spot.

"What do you mean? Are you saying I'm not your mother? I've always been this way. If you think someone else is better, go find those cheap women to be your mother! Hahaha, no matter how bad I am, I'm still happier than some people!"

What did she mean by "some people"?

Bethany had a headache! He was too tired to keep arguing with Lila.

"Mom, stop being unreasonable. The divorce agreement has already been stamped. Whether you sign it or not doesn't matter much. Your marriage with Dad is over. Don't worry, I'll take good care of you in your old age. I'll send you to Novia tomorrow."

The date on the divorce agreement was from last month.

Last month - that's when Marcus had already decided to divorce her!

Lila gritted her teeth and said viciously, "Marcus, are you really going to be so heartless? Make your children hate you? You'll regret treating me like this one day!"

Marcus snorted coldly.

"Me, regret? The biggest regret of my life was marrying you!"

"Fine, you finally said what's really in your heart. You're still thinking about that bitch Elodie Smith, aren't you?"

Marcus got angry. "Why are you bringing up Elodie? Stop the nonsense, I don't want to say another word to you! Tomorrow you take Esme and go to Novia, or just go back to the countryside!"

He actually wanted to send her back to the countryside to live a hard life?

Just because she mentioned that short-lived bitch Elodie!

Catherine's eyes flickered slightly.

The Elodie that Marcus and Lila were talking about - how come it was the same name as Elodie from the Smith family?

It was probably a coincidence. There were plenty of people with the same name back in those days. She had never heard Elodie mention knowing anyone named Windsor, so it probably had nothing to do with Marcus.

Marcus hung up the phone in a rage, fuming. "Absolutely unreasonable!"

Felix on the side sneered.

"Who told you to wrong Elodie back then? You're getting what you deserve."

"How did I wrong Elodie? When I came back from my mission, Elodie had already had her accident. As soon as I walked in the door, I saw blood everywhere. Why am I even telling you this! Why don't you go back to your own home? This is my house!"

Aurora quickly said, "Dad, you're being discharged today. I had the kitchen prepare food suitable for elderly people. We can invite Mr. Howard and Alexander, and our whole family can eat together and celebrate."

When Marcus heard "whole family eating together," tears welled up in his eyes, though his mouth kept being difficult.

"Who's family with him? Catherine hasn't agreed to marry into their family yet! Catherine, listen to me, you're still young. Let's focus on your studies first and take it slow. But you can't not interact with him either. If it doesn't work out, you can still change your mind."

Catherine's mouth twitched.

Felix chimed in, "My grandson isn't good enough? It's fine, Catherine, you can check out our other grandsons, they're all great! If Alexander doesn't work out, there's always the next one!"

Marcus and Felix went back and forth, and before long they were arguing again.

If it weren't for the two wheelchairs between them, they probably would have started fighting right there.

Catherine met Alexander's helpless yet slightly mocking gaze, and she also felt the scene before her was both noisy and warm.

"Should I send your grandpa home?"

"There's only me and Grandpa at home. Can't you just put up with me for a bit?"

She wasn't trying to kick them out on purpose. After all, Aurora and Bethany had invited the guests, and she couldn't upset the elders.

While everyone's attention was on Marcus and Felix, Alexander walked over to Catherine's side, took her hand, and wrapped his warm palm around her small hand, holding it firmly.

"Let go."

"Just for a moment, consider it payment for the ride earlier?"

Catherine was somewhat helpless. "Mr. Howard, does your company charge fees this way now?"

Alexander's eyes held a certain depth, like an abyss gazing at Catherine.

His gaze never left her!

"I wouldn't mind other ways either. Last night was pretty good."

Speaking of last night.

They clearly hadn't done anything, not even close to anything romantic, but hearing him say this, Catherine's face still turned slightly red.

She glared at Alexander, looking like a pouty little hamster.

Charles walked between them, pulling one with each hand, forcefully separating them.

The smile on Alexander's face froze instantly!

Watching Charles pull Catherine away, Alexander felt for the first time that the Windsor family might have a few too many brothers.

He thought there would be more people to care for her, but instead there were more people competing with him for Catherine!

The meal was particularly lively. Grace went to the lab to continue her research, and Samuel was brought over by Aurora to stay.

The three old men got so worked up they almost started fighting, none of them backing down.

After dinner, Marcus pulled Catherine to play chess.

"Catherine, that chess puzzle you left me last time - I couldn't solve it no matter what. Tell me how it's supposed to go!"

Samuel sneered.

"Pathetic. A grown man like you can't even beat Catherine, a kid, at chess."

"Samuel, you come try. I don't believe you can beat Catherine at chess! Catherine, if you beat Samuel, I'll give you a company to play with!"
