Chapter 396: Never Seen Such a Shameless Woman
Chapter 396: Never Seen Such a Shameless Woman
Philip blurted out.
"Are you out of your mind?"
Philip had been in this business for years and had seen all kinds of people, but he'd never met anyone like Emma!
Emma blinked, sitting on the couch in Philip's office painting her nails.
"Those nutcases from the Kate family need to come over anyway, right? Besides, going on a date with a super gorgeous woman like me isn't exactly a loss for you."
"How is it not a loss for me?"
Philip nearly jumped up on the spot, staring at Emma in disbelief.
Emma let her nail polish dry, then stood up and said casually, "I'll help you solve this problem, and you come back to the Kate Villa with me for dinner. That's fair, right?"
Philip asked warily, "In what capacity?"
"College friends. The fact that your last name is Windsor is enough. Be grateful - if you weren't a Windsor, I wouldn't even be asking you."
Philip's face turned red with anger!
"Why don't you ask Richard? He's single too!"
"He has too many fans. I'm afraid of getting attacked online. Plus, you and I are in the same profession, so it's more convenient."
Convenient for her maybe, but had she thought about his feelings?
"You're already living at our place - what more do you want?"
The assistant quickly lowered their head.
What kind of explosive gossip was this?
Emma was living at Philip's house?
The assistant made a fist and put it to their mouth to keep from accidentally revealing this super big news that Philip might secretly silence them for knowing...
Emma shrugged helplessly.
"That's exactly why I'm living at your place. My mom wants me to bring you back for dinner. If you don't agree, looking at the Windsor family's cost-effective single men with the Windsor surname, I can only ask your grandfather!"
Emma turned to look at Philip, smiling charmingly.
"Would you mind me being your step-grandmother? Dear grandson?"
Philip had never seen such a shameless woman!
Unfortunately, Aurora really did like her, and she'd been sucking up to Aurora at the Windsor Villa, praising her to the skies. Aurora practically treated Emma like her own daughter now!
Philip couldn't even kick Emma out if he wanted to...
Thinking that Emma might actually go find Marcus, Philip clenched his fists.
"I really give up with you. Just don't scare my grandfather. If you can actually get Gabriella's mother's mental illness assessment report approved, I'll go back with you for dinner."
It was just one meal anyway.
Besides, he didn't believe Emma could actually pull this off so easily!
Emma snapped her fingers. "Just watch."
Philip thought about it and still felt uneasy, so he got up and followed her.
"I'm coming with you."
"What for? To steal my techniques?"
Philip said lightly, "I'm worried you'll hit someone and end up with criminal charges."
At the hospital, psychiatry department.
The well-dressed Sloane had her hair combed perfectly, wearing a pearl hair clip, looking particularly refined and elegant.
Sloane looked at the doctor with a gentle smile. "Thank you, doctor, but I really don't have any mental problems. Accidentally hurting my daughter before was just us playing around—as a mother, I feel very guilty about it."
She wiped away tears as she spoke, looking very sad.
There was a knock at the door. Catherine, wearing a uniform and mask, signaled with her eyes for Merak, who was sitting there, to switch positions.
Seeing a younger-looking doctor, even though only their eyes were visible, made Sloane somewhat hesitant.
Then again, they'd already switched doctors several times, and not one could confirm she had mental problems, right?
As long as she was alive, there was no way Gabriella and Odette could send her to a hospital!
Catherine said flatly, "Tell me about your two children."
"Both my daughters are excellent. They graduated from prestigious universities and have good jobs now. They both work in the arts, having inherited my excellent artistic genes. They're both wonderful children."
"I heard you've always felt regretful about not having a son?"
Sloane wiped her tears.
"Doctor, you're still young—you haven't had children, have you? Every child is born to a mother, right? As for sons, you don't understand—in the countryside, not having a son means people will talk behind your back!"
Catherine glanced at her. "You don't live in the countryside. Why would you worry about people talking behind your back?"
Sloane was momentarily speechless!
She'd been a city person since birth—why would she worry about countryside people talking behind her back?
"...My mother only gave birth to daughters, and when I was young, she was always insulted by relatives. It made me very sad."
Catherine acknowledged this.
Then pointed to a photo on the computer.
"This is your parents' family photo, right? If I'm not mistaken, your mother had three sons, and you're the only daughter."
Narcissistic personality disorder patients constantly lie!
Sloane didn't panic.
"Doctor, you're still young. You don't understand these social dynamics. Besides, so what if I felt regretful? I still raised two excellent daughters!"
"Your husband's mistress gave him a son."
The words caught in Sloane's throat!
"...That's a good thing. Besides, my husband passed away, and our marriage wasn't happy. Let's not bring this up."
"If you weren't happy, why didn't you divorce?"
"For the children. How could I divorce him? If the children didn't have a father, they wouldn't even know their roots! To give my children a brighter future, I was willing to endure such an unbearable marriage."
Sloane looked rather pitiful.
"I just want my children to live well. What did I do wrong? Even if I have to sacrifice, it doesn't matter! I used to be so excellent and capable, but I was willing to give up everything for my children."
After listening to her outpouring, Catherine changed the subject.
"I heard the argument with Odette last time was because you didn't like the clothes she was wearing?"
Sloane dried her tears.
"Dressing up is to make yourself look better. I was just giving Odette some suggestions. Modern information is too complicated, causing a child studying art to lose her sense of beauty."
"In this season, I don't think wearing tall boots looks good on her—it only exposes the fact that her legs aren't shapely. What's wrong with pointing that out?"
"And the perm—why make yourself look so cheap? Is the aesthetic of art students really this poor? And she hung up on me—does she want to cut ties with me?"
Catherine glanced at her lightly.
"She's financially independent with freedom of aesthetic choice. How she dresses is her personal aesthetic."
"I just want her to be more excellent. First, she needs to understand that this look isn't attractive at all. If she insists that ugly is justice, I have nothing more to say!"
Catherine stood up. "I understand. Thank you for your cooperation."
Sloane's behavior completely fit narcissistic personality disorder.
Now they just needed an external stimulus to force her to reveal herself.
When the door opened, Emma leaned against it with a lollipop in her mouth, smiling as she spoke.
"Mrs. Gray, you're so lucky—Gabriella's boyfriend is the CEO of the Evergreen Group!"
