Alpha Jacob's POV.
Standing frozen in the west side of my village, I slowed down my breathing and clocked my ears to give attention to the Rogue freely roaming in the village... this part of the village was luckily abandoned a few months ago because of the same rampant attacks by the said rogues. what they were looking for? I did not have a clue, because of the tight-lipped mussel they swore to retain come what may...
Gamma Nick, my house manager hurriedly got me out of the meeting with the elders to go and tend to the rogues mercilessly attacking my people for reasons I'm yet to find out if one of the is going to be willing to reveal the whole truth behind the attacks.
'Alpha, I think they are…' Beta Olivia snarled mind link, but I stopped her halfway because I knew the rogues were closer as their galloping paws were getting louder and louder.
But in which direction would they come? My smell and hearing heightened immensely to give attention to what was coming.
'Go that way with the warriors, then we will circle them and trap them in the middle.' I quickly came up with a fast tactical idea to capture the irritating rogues.
With great stealthy movements, my paws kissed the ground silently without notifying them of my presence, suddenly two skittish Rogues appeared from behind a red-bricked building wall, with their mouths drooling with white foam and their eyes looking deranged like dogs infested with rabies.
Upon catching a glimpse of them, I snarled viciously, baring my teeth out in warning.
Step one step closer and I will kill you after you tell me who sent you, my thoughts lingered as we stared down at each other.
The two Rogues braved on despite the severe warning I gave them… with their eyes locked on with a fierce gaze. Neither was willing to back off… even though they knew that only one winner could emerge victorious, and that was me, Alpha Jacob Shepard of the midnight pack.
I had enough of the rogues randomly attacking my village any time they felt like freely walking in my territory.
The insolence these pack-less dogs had to challenge me got me thinking otherwise.
Because most rogues ran at the sight of any Alpha they faced down.
The two rabies-infested rogues started circling me, tensed and ready to strike any chance I let my guard down.
I growled animalisticly, but it was like I encouraged them to move even closer to me… one suddenly, lunged forward at me from the back unexpectedly with clawed paws and I dodged to the left narrowly avoiding the incoming blow.
How dare he throw that cheap weak blow at me? I growled menacingly. The rogue in front of me slightly stumbled backward. This is enough playing I growled louder, sending a thunderous roar miles away from the village... with a fierce growl, I charged forward with clawed paws ready to strike.
Both rogues parried the first blow, but the second caught them off guard and sent them stumbling backward and both tumbled to the ground.
One bolted as soon as he saw that this was an already lost battle.
I morphed back into a human to maybe try to talk to the remaining rogue who stupidly braved on, to an already lost battle.
"Who sent you? Maybe I will spare your miserable life." I stood firm with my chest sticking out.
And the stupid rogue decided to continue fighting instead of talking to me. He again lunged for me thinking I'm defeatable as a human than a wolf, that's when as he jumped at me I harmed myself with my sharp claws and ripped out his still-beating heart, while his lifeless body fell to the ground.
I scoffed while huffing out hot air from my flared nostrils.
Stupid Rogues never learn that they can never win a battle with an Alpha, no matter how outnumbered they think they can be. I sighed heavily with a stern poise. I hurled his heart away into the scrub.
That's when my nose indistinctly scented Bella's scent lingering nearby.
Bella? I told her to stay in the mansion for safety reasons but why can I get her scent? My thoughts lingered for a few seconds... But what if she is in trance again? Then she is in great danger with all these rogues roaming the village freely. I need to get to her immediately, My nose directed me to her at the devil's pond once again and this time she was standing frozen, ready to jump off the pond as her foot freely hang loosely in the air below the open space of the water.
"Bella, don't do it" I yelled out loud because she looked dazed in one of her trances.
If I don't shout to stop her? She might jump off the ledge.
She glanced at me with green gleaming eyes then she flickered them bringing them back to their normal color yellow like she had come back to her senses in real-time.
She darted at me with a confused expression where was standing as I stretched out my hand to her, to try and stop her.
She glanced back at where she was standing, and that's when she made an effort to pull back her leg and remove it out of danger but something quickly tugged her leg from the water and she plunged into the pond,
"Help!!!" She disappeared underwater.
My Bella... Oh, goddess not again. My heart sank into my guts as I dreaded the worst results. I glanced around the surface of the pond to try and spot her body, but she was nowhere in sight.
Her body had completely vanished into the pond, and that was when I decided to jump in to save her once again. I got in the water and luckily spotted her and quickly tugged her out of the water.
This time around, the water was free of wolfsbane... I wondered who got rid of it and how??? But that was not my main concern but I prioritized Bella's life as my heart thumped wildly.
"Kitten, are you okay?" I raised a question with a pale face…while lovingly caressing her body, I felt so frightened at that moment, that the thought that I could lose her again while I gasped for air in my lungs. we both dripped wet from the pond water.
"Babe, are you okay?" She stopped my frantic hands and gently grazed her fingers on my wet face.
"I'm fine, it's you I'm worried about. How did you find yourself here?" I softened my gaze.
"I must have been in a trance." She declared after skimming through the environment she was in.
"Don't you ever do that again?" I yanked her by her head and pressed his lips against hers, kissing her desperately.
Seconds later, we broke off the kiss with heavy shuddering breathing and that was when she said something that caught me off, guard.
"Babe, I remember what I saw in my trance."
I darted at her with a serious face, eagerly waiting to hear what she had to say…
"What did you see." I swallowed hard.
"I saw a mermaid queen, calling herself queen Zita of the parlovpetri city underwater. She said she had been waiting for my arrival and that is when I got out of a trance before she could explain anything further." She explained.
"But why you?"
"Even I don't know the answer to that question." She sighed softly with a sad faraway face.
My eyes unknowingly dropped to her wet silky pajamas which clung to her wet body and I could feel my dick harden at her sight, I quickly tensed myself and cleared my thoughts of any sexual feelings towards her. She was unwell and sex might make things worse. I sighed softly.
"Ok, enough of that, let's get you back home. It's not safe for you to come here even if I know you are strong enough to fight these rabies-infested rogues..." I chuckled. "I'm sure seer Aiden will tell us more about this new information " I added as I helped her stand to her feet.
"Yes, even I too want to know what the vision meant."
We both transformed into our wolves, while Bella ripped out of her wet pajamas and we both ran back into the mansion to meet seer Aiden who was communicated to by mind link.
Minutes later...
"So, what can you tell us about her vision when she is in trance?" I leaned in with unblinking focused eye contact with the seer who came at once to the mansion after being called.
Bella sat next to me with our hands interlocked. We held this private meeting in my room away from preying eyes and ears.
"Her visions have no meaning." He blurted out loud with a splitting grin on his face." She is a wolf and I'm very sure that those visions mean nothing. Alpha, I suggest you just live your lives in a normal way, with time everything will normalize back to normal.." He summed up.
"Are you sure we don't have to be alert?" I raised a question.
"Yes, Alpha. She was able to recall what she saw in a trance so that's a good sign from the goddess, if that's all I would like to take my leave now."
"Yes, that will be all for now," I answered back as a sigh of relief escaped my lips.
"Thank you, Alpha." He packed his tera cards and got up from the chair. He bobbed his head to bid farewell to Bella and me.
"Thank you for coming." I declared then turned back my attention to my mate.
That's when I gazed at her lustfully because I had spared her for two long months because of her then-strange sickness but not anymore. My cock instantly hardened desiring its mate.
"Let's make a baby." I teased then reached in and grazed my lips on her neck and I could feel her body quiver at my lips touching her skin.
