Bella's POV
"Okay, princess. You can tell us everything…go ahead" pa said with unblinking focused eye contact.
My mind and body all froze in that dreadful moment as I inhaled and exhaled silently with a million thoughts running in my mind all at once.
"Yes…tell them. Who is the bitch now? Busy saying my crystal is the naughty one.." Diana mumbled, she pulled a face and scoffed at me.
"Beta Diana, enough! One more insulting word from you will result in me losing my respect for you and do something stupid in your home" Alpha Jacob exclaimed in a deep voice with his jaws clenched.
Everyone in the room shuddered at his exclamation and kept quiet, while I bent my head to face the floor... My first instinct as an omega is to be submissive at all times because of my ranking in the pack. It's like my body was programmed like that.
"Bella, do you have anything you want to tell us?" Jacob asked in a more calm voice with steady eye contact.
I bobbed my head energetically while I swallowed hard.
"Then speak!" Alpha Jacob snarled. He tapped his foot on the floor hasty and I presumed that he was becoming impatient with me.
"Yes Bella, speak." Pa stuttered.
I looked up and sighed softly before I could answer back.
"What Beta Diana is saying is true. My first fated mate is Alpha Zach but then he marked crystal as his Luna and asked me to be his sidepiece. I rejected him and came home, then you chased me from home. I met Alpha Jacob and his pack in the dark forest when the rogues were trying to kill me and then our mate bond clicked in…but he is yet to say anything about our mate bond." I explained with open palms.
"Lies, Alpha Jacob, where have you heard that an omega rejected an Alpha? this girl is a liar, a thief, and a very cunning girl... No one chased her from her home, but she decided to run away after I found out she stole my expensive pearl necklace... She will make a bad Luna in your pack if truly she is your fated mate and you accept her." Diana spoke rapidly then roughly snatched my hand and tugged me away from Jacob and pa.
I stumbled dangerously and stopped only when my back came in contact with the marbled kitchen counter.
"Aww" a silent moan escaped my lips due to the sharp throbbing pain inflicted by the marbled edge.
Wait a minute, what beta Diana is saying is true…how did I manage to reject an Alpha, it was a rare occurrence within any pack and if not mistaken, I was the first omega to do so in our pack. It clicked within me that only one in a thousand Omegas has ever rejected an Alpha.
Oh shit! I sighed.
"Enough Beta Diana" Jacob's eyes glowed to a yellowish glow as he huffed and puffed with flared nostrils. His firm chest visibly moved up and down in anger while tiny but visible black fur emitted from his body…he sauntered closer to me and clasped my hand.
I avoided eye contact with him while secretly glancing at the tiny silky black hair disappearing into his skin…my eyes widened with amusement.
Wow! My heart thumped wildly.
"I want my pearl necklace," Diana murmured with hesitancy.
"Shhh," pa signaled his wife to keep quiet with a frown before shifting his attention to us.
"So Alpha Jacob, will you accept Bella or not?" He summed up.
The room became silent for a few seconds and I swear if Alpha Jacob did not hear my heartbeat then he must have been thinking about something else.
Please moon goddess, let him accept me and I promise to never go against you. I cringed my eyes and nose…then unexpectedly, he spoke out in a deep hesitant voice…
"I Alpha Jacob Shephard of the midnight pack accepts Bella wood of the moonstone pack as my Luna. What do you say, Bella?" He declared with heavy breathing.
What??? My eyes instantly widened while I shifted my gaze to him.
Did he just accept an Omega to be his Luna? No, this is a dream, Bella. I swallowed hard as I caught a glimpse of his serious gaze on me.
"Alpha Jacob, are you serious?" Diana blurted out loud with a flinched face and I immediately guessed she too was shocked to hear Jacob's statement.
"Yes, I'm sure. Bella, I'm still waiting for your answer?" Jacob gently tugged me on my hand to get me to speak up but I was too shocked.
An Alpha has accepted me… I froze in trance with mine and Pa's jaws dropped with shock, and our eyes widened.
Is this happening just like that…oh moon goddess, thank you. I tried to gasp for air but my lungs felt like I was not getting enough air to breathe properly…
"You can't do that? She is a thief and deserves punishment for stealing my expensive necklace." Diana snapped at me.
My body shuddered out of a trance, with tears prickling in the corner of my eye.
What wrong did I do to this woman? Her daughter is already mated to our Alpha Zach and now she wants me to be punished for something I did not do. I slowly twirled my hand out of Jacob's grip and wrapped them around myself…I was terrified that Diana might be able to convince him to change his mind while he was there.
Alpha Jacob peeked at her with a serious face and gave her a what the fuck look.
"Bella, do you want to be my Luna?" He glanced back at me with a serious smoldering look on his face.
"No, she doesn't accept. She is my house help. Who do you expect to be doing her chores around the house?" Diana interjected with a pale face.
"So all this is about money and who will help you with your house chores?" Alpha Jacob raised his brow.
"Yes!" Diana answered back.
"Fine..come with me outside." Jacob gently tugged my wrist and strolled out to the porch.
I peeked behind quickly and Diana and pa were standing behind anxiously waiting for whatever Alpha Jacob wanted to do or say.
"I'm still waiting on your answer Bella" Jacob peeked into the depth of my soul through the eyes. "It's ok, I'm here to protect you, just tell us your answer." He summed up.
With my head bent, I peeked out in the corner of my eyes to read the mood and Diana's reddened face was about to explode with anger.
Pa looked at me with a sombre face like he was telling me to accept Alpha Jacob for a better future.
I swallowed hard while fidgeting in my Mickey mouse t-shirt dress…
"It's ok Bella, you can answer him" pa reassured me with a slight bob of his head.
I exhaled merrily slowly then looked up at Alpha Jacob.
"Yes, I Bella Wood accept to be the Luna of the midnight pack."
"Good.." Alpha Jacob snarled in mind link, then a pretty lady walked out of the bushes swaying her hips from side to side with a silver briefcase…and I immediately guessed it was the same she wolf who was sniffing me in the dark forest because her big brown eyes which gave her off.
"Alpha, Beta Wood." She momentarily bowed her head in submission and then handed the briefcase to Alpha Jacob with both her hands clasped to it as if her life depended on whatever was in there.
He veered around to face Diana and pa with a stern poise.
"Here, you go. That should cover for the missing necklace." He tossed it on the porch and it instantly opened up revealing it's incredible content…MONEY,
And when I say money! I mean millions of Romanian Leu…my heart skipped a beat before gasping for air.
Wow.! This guy is loaded…
Before Diana could jump and grab the money, Alpha Zach's sports car drove into the driveway and he and Crystal got out of the car and sauntered towards the porch.
Oh crap, he and his stupid Luna just had to show up now? I felt sick to my stomach.
