Cured?!?!
Cured?!?!
"Dam it, I need the flowers he picked at the lake." Alex tried to get Hem to wake up but he was out cold.
"What flowers?" Misha asked when she brought the towels and cool water in.
Alex didn't say which ones just that he needed them. If he had to he would have to go to the lake again and find some if the fae left any. He lay Hem back on the bed, Alex took a rag and cleaned his forehead. Misha could see the care in his eyes. Alex truely loved the man, they had been friends for a very long time. It broke a piece of her heart to see him this upset about his friend. Misha had no idea what flowers he was talking about, but she looked around the room to try and find any, but didn't see any in the room.
"Can you stay with him? I am going to go and see if I can find some of the flowers." Alex took off before she said anything. He was flying through the house to the lake.
"Yes." Misha said but hew as already gone.
When he stopped at the clearing of the lake he was shocked to see that it was over run with magic. Fae where all over the area, some with the same wounds that Hem had. He moved through the area looking for the rain flower. After a moment he found one, then another. He picked them carefully, not wanting to lose the liquid in the flower. When he looked around a young woman was laying on the ground holding her shoulder. She had the same black veins on her body. Alex went to her letting some of the liquid to drip into the wound. She screamed and fought but soon the wound healed all the way. The look on her face made Alex smile.
"How?" she asked when she was able to speak.
"I have a very old book, given to me by a friend. In the book it says to use the rain flower to clean to wounds. It will take the taint out of the body. So if you know anyone else that has a wound like yours get the flower. Be very careful because the fluid will run right out. I have to find another flower for a friend." Alex explained as he went searching for another flower.
Twenty mintues later he was on his way back to the house. When he entered Hem's room he could see that he wasn't doing well at all. Alex went to the bed to pull the bandage out of the way. Alex carefully let the fluid drip into the wound. Hem did the same as the woman at the lake. He bowed off the bed screaming in pain. When he flopped back down Alex put another two drops in seeing the wound start to close. Slowly it closed, Alex had to do this five times. The flower only had a drop left but he could see that Hem was doing much better. The fever had broken and he looked much better. Les pale and the wound was closed.
"How the hell did you know that would work?" Misha asked as she watched him put the flowers in a glass of water.
"Years ago Crystal gave me a book on flowers and things from the Fae relam. I had no idea how she had it, well now I do. Who ever broke that barrier had planned this. I hope that the fae on the other side know about the flower." Alex worried that Crystal might be wounded. Maybe that is why he never got an answer.
"Alex." Hem crocked from the bed strugging to sit up.
"Hem, Gods I am glad you are alright." Alex told him as he helped his sit up.
"How?" Hem asked as he let Alex help him sit up.
"Crystal, so long ago gave me that really old book about flowers." Alex told him with a smile. "I am greatful now that she had given it to me."
"Have you heard from her?" Hem asked taking a glass of water from Misha.
"No, when I went to the lake the area is full of fae magic. Several fae where wounded laying by the lake. I saved one and I hope she can help others." Alex told him seeing the worry on his friends face. "Might have to find a way to the other side, to check on the fae."
Alex would have to go bakc and check on the lake and clearing. Humans seemed to have noticed something was there, but so far no one had wondered in to the clearing. Maybe there was a ward to keep them from seeing what was truely there. He didn't even notice anything like that when he had gone. It didn't really matter because it wouldn't have worked on him. So he looked at Hem seeing him looking better than before.
"I hope no human's find a way into that clearing. It is dangerous for them to be that close. Plus so many fae are around it. A gaurd was at the barrier at one point. I didn't take notice of him this time however." Alex worried more about the fae on the other side of the barrier.
Maybe Alex needed to go to the barrier again to see what was going on. He didn't think it would be smart to go alone. Misha could come but he worried that the smell of the fae blood would be over powering to her. Hem should be alright in a day or two, but that was adding more time to the death toll if those on the other side had been wounded. Alex was pretty sure that Crystal hadn't been harmed. Partly because she was wearing armor. He needed a plan on how to deal with this issue. Maybe the wait would be the best way because Hem would be healed more. He didn't want to take the man out still wounded.
"Hem when you are up and ready we will go and check out that area. You will need at least two days to get your strength back. With a few more drops of the flower you will heal faster." Alex explained with a smile.
"What flower?" Hem asked looking confused.
"The rain flower." Alex told him then explained what the flower can and can't do.
"I knew the flower could be helpful for a things but not healing." Hem was shocked.
"I would have to thank Crystal for giving me that book again." Alex smiled brightly, happy that he saved his friend. Yes he worked for him but it was more than that.
They sat and talked for a while, Misha had gotten some food for Hem so he would eat. It was almost two days since he last ate something. Alex was thankful for the people in the room.
