The Wolf

The Wolf
The wolf howled into the night when the bullet punching into it's front shoulder. When it turned it's head away from Raymond it locked on Frank. Alex knew that the wolf would go for Frank because he was the threat at the moment. Neither Wes or Alex could move fast enough to stop the wolf when it leaped right toward Frank. The wolf came within inches of Franks neck growling at the man. He stood over Frank keeping him from moving or trying to shot him again. With a single move he swung his head toward Raymond then to the other two men in the clearing. Raymond looked terrified when the wolf swung it's head toward him.

"Raymond, can you tell me how you got here?" Alex kept his voice low and steady. Not wanting to give the wolf a reason to attack.

"Trees....Blood...Wolf." Raymond kept muttering the same thing over and over again.

"Does this make any sense to you?" Wes asked Alex keeping on eye on the wolf and Frank.

"Not really, never heard anyone talk like this." Alex wasn't sure if it was because of trauma that the two said the samet hing. "Rene said the same thing over and over again."

At the mention of the name the wolf sung his head toward Alex. Growling at him for taking what was his. Alex didn't know why the wolf would take humans. It didn't make much sense if this was a normal wolf. If it had just been him then he would have just asked. Frank groaned under the wolf making the wolf put a paw on his chest putting pressaure. Alex heard at least two ribs break. Frank screamed at the pain coughing as he tried to catch his breath.

"Please don't hurt him." Alex finally just spoke to the wolf. "He is a little stupid but he was worried about Raymond. It wasn't about killing you, just keeping you away. Let Wes take him to the hospital. I will stay here with you and Raymond."

"No, that isn't happening." Wes yelled toward Alex.

"Frank is going to need a hospital. You know how to get back here. Just get Frank looked at. I don't think the wolf will harm me." Alex wasn't truely sure on that, but he hopped he was right.

At that moment Frank groaned clutching at his chest. The wolf had moved toward the cabin to stand by Raymond. Wes struggled to get Frank standing and stubbled out of the clearing leaveing the area. Alex swung his eyes back to the wolf.

"Fae or werewolf?" Alex finally asked as he looked at Raymond.

"You know of us?" The wolf spoke but not outloud, but in his head.

"Well the Fae I have knowen about for a very long time. Werewolves however is new. I'm a vampire, so of course I would know a little about alot." Alex gave a smile.

"Who in the fae do you know?" The wolf asked looking confused.

"I can't really tell you the names they go by in that world. Just what they use here. I won't get you the names however. I don't want them to go missing." Alex knew that fae didn't like others comeing to the human world. "Why are you taking the humans?"

"Understandable...Not taking just watching. The woman you took out of the foresst is part fae. I caught her scent and needed to be sure she wasn't a threat. Raymond here is also part fae. Both would have been released in a few days time. However the woman got away and my power over her snapped. She will forget about the whole thing in time. It is the same for Raymond. I will allow you to take him home tonight, but you have to tell the parents that he has to stay in the room. I can come and check on him then. He is very scared and wants his mother. He cries alot which is irrating me." The wolf moved away from Raymond letting him stand to come toward Alex. "If they don't do as I have said I will take him again. Rene should be fine by tomorrow. Putting her in a coma helped me to find what I was looking for."

Raymond moved toward Alex but he didn't act like a scared child. Alex lifting the boy up to hold him. The boy didn't weight more then twenty pounds which meant he hadn't been eatting the whole time he had been with the wolf. Walking backward Alex kept his eyes the the wolf to make sure he wasn't going to come after him to get the boy back. At the boarder of the clearing Alex watched the wolf vanish. With that he took off toward town. Taking Raymond stright to the hosptail then calling his parents to let them know he was safe. They hooked Raymond up with an IV and food. Almost twenty mintues later the parents came rushing into the room.

"Oh Raymond, where did you go?" His mother called when she entered the room.

"Trees...blood..wolves." Is all that Raymond would say. His parents looked at Alex to find out what had happened.

"Come with me I need to speak to you in private." Alex moved them into a empty room so he could speak to them without anyone else hearing.

"What is going on?" Raymond's father asked looking worried.

"I am not sure if you know about tthe paranormal world. That or the fae." Alex watched both parents and could see that knew what he was talking about. "Someone in your family was with a fae of some kind. Normally they take the children at birth. Now Raymond must have been hiddeen from them until now. The wolf that I meet in the woods told me to tell you two to make sure that Raymond is in his room for the next couple of days. I don't know for sure what they want from him, most likely to drain the magic. The wolf doesn't want to harm him or you."

"They took him." The fater almost screamed.

"To them it isn't taking, it is gathering family to them. I am not sure on what they are doing to be honest. I will see if I can find out more." Alex explained to the two. A doctor came to knock on the door a few moments later.

"Mr. and Mrs. Geoff?" The doctor asked when he entered the room.

Alex took the chance to go and check on Rene. When he entered the room she lay on the bed looking better then before. The wolf had said she would be alright, but what tramua had she gone through with him? He sat with her for a few moments to make sure she was alright. Alex left thrity mintues later to talk to Travis about it. The moment he entered his home he knew something was off. Entering the living room he saw a rather tall fae sitting on his couch. He looked around for Travis seeing him come out of the kitchen.

"Alex, glad you're back." Travis nodded toward the other fae.
