Chapter 71

Chapter 71
Emilia had returned to the ceremony composed as ever. She wasntgoing to tell Luca about what she had seen and heard yet. The grand hall was filled with warmth and light, the scent of candles and fresh flowers wafting through the air. Emilia stood beside Luca, her son cradled in her arms, as they prepared for the main naming ceremony. Calista and Cyrus stood opposite them, their own child nestled in Calista's arms.

Kith stood at the front of the room, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that made Emilia's skin crawl. She tried to push the feeling aside, focusing on the ceremony.

As the ritual began, Kith's voice rose and fell in a soothing cadence. Emilia felt a sense of peace wash over her, but it was short-lived. When it was time to give the babies their symbolic names, Kith's eyes seemed to gleam with an otherworldly light.

Emilia and Luca had chosen the name "Aerius" for their son, meaning "air" or "sky" in an ancient language. Calista and Cyrus had chosen the name "Terra" for their son, meaning "earth" or "land".

As Kith pronounced the names, Emilia felt a shiver run down her spine. There was something about the way he spoke the words that seemed...off.

But she pushed the feeling aside, focusing on the joy of the moment. The babies were passed from person to person, each guest bestowing a blessing upon them.

As the ceremony drew to a close, Emilia felt a sense of pride and happiness. This was a moment she would cherish forever.

But as she looked at Kith, she saw something else that raised her suspicion. A calculating glint in his eye, a sense of purpose that seemed to go beyond mere celebration.

As the guests began to disperse, Emilia approached Kith. "Thank you for officiating the ceremony," she said, trying to keep her tone light.

Kith's smile was warm, but his eyes seemed to bore into her very soul. "It was my pleasure, Emilia," he said. "The children are truly special."

Emilia stared at him. There was something about Kith's tone that seemed... menacing.

As she turned to leave, Kith's voice stopped her. "Emilia," he said, his tone low and serious. "May I speak with you for a moment?"

Emilia's heart sank. She didn't want to be alone with Kith, but she didn't want to raise a scene in front of the guests.

"Of course," she said, trying to keep her tone neutral.

Kith led her to a quiet corner of the room, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that made her skin crawl.

"Emilia," he said, his voice low and serious. "I wanted to talk to you about the children. They're...special. And I think it's time we started planning for their future."

Emilia's instincts screamed at her to be wary. There was something about Kith's tone that seemed... sinister.

"What do you mean?" she asked, trying to keep her tone light.

Kith's smile was warm, but his eyes seemed to gleam with a malevolent purpose. "Oh, just that they're going to change the world, Emilia. And I want to make sure they're prepared for what's to come."

As Emilia looked into Kith's eyes, she felt a sense of unease. What did he mean? And what did he plan for the children?

She knew she had to tread carefully, but she also knew that Kith was hiding something.

"I think we should focus on raising them as normal children," she said, trying to keep her tone firm.

Kith's smile grew wider, but his eyes seemed to gleam with a sinister light. "Oh, Emilia," he said. "You have no idea what these children are capable of. And soon, you'll see."

As Emilia looked at Kith, she felt a sense of foreboding. What did he know? And what did he plan for the children?

She knew she had to protect her son, but she didn't know how to stop Kith.

As she turned to leave, Kith's voice stopped her. "Emilia," he said, his tone low and menacing. "Take care of Aerius."

Emilia's heartbeat increased steadily. He wasn't just a mysterious figure with ulterior motives. He was a threat to her child, and she would do whatever it took to protect him.

As she walked away from Kith, Emilia felt a stranger sense of unease. She knew she had to be careful around Kith.
