Arabelle tried not to think about her interaction with Cassie earlier. She doesn't know why Cassie seems to hate her all of a sudden. Not that she was friendly before but at least she was civil. They only had a few encounters in the past but she was hoping they would be friends. Although it seems that Cassie is not interested in that. She hasn't had any problems making friends before. Maybe she needs to put some effort when it comes to Cassie.
However, being Ralph's assistant will not give her a lot of free time. There are so many things that she needs to do since he owns a lot of businesses. She's just learning about them now that he's teaching her. He owns antique shops, art galleries, and more. She needs to familiarize herself with those businesses. It will help her to deal with the business managers so that Ralph doesn't have to do it himself. He needs to keep his identity to avoid problems.
“Let's continue the training tomorrow. You must be exhausted by now.” Ralph suggested when he realized it's already 9:00 PM and they are still working.
“There are still a lot of things to do but okay. I'm already tired and hungry anyway.” she replied to him.
“We need to schedule our breaks starting tomorrow so I don't forget the time as well.” Ralph told her his plan.
“That's a good idea. Let’s do that tomorrow then.” She agreed to his plan for her own sake as well.
Arabelle is enjoying her work but Ralph is right about taking breaks. She feels tired after a few hours since it's part of being a human. At least they are done with work for today. They can finally relax and rest for the day. It's more for her since she's the one who gets tired. Ralph didn't feel that which must be cool. Now she can't help but to think about being a vampire. It must be good to not feel tired anymore. Although it means that she needs blood.
If Ralph finds out that she's considering becoming a vampire, he will flip. He will not get mad but he will tell her how sad it is being a vampire. Arabelle heard him say that before when she asked about it one time. She can only imagine living forever while watching her loved ones die. It can be from an illness or old age but it will still be sad to witness all that. Although it's really appealing to have special abilities. Vampires are fast and strong like Ralph.
“Do you want to eat out in a restaurant? I don't think there's dinner food in the kitchen.” Ralph asked her.
“Maybe Justin bought something. We can check first before we go to a restaurant.” Arabelle suggested.
Ralph agreed to her suggestion and they went out of his home office together. He wanted to go out for dinner so that they could have quality time. Spending time working together doesn't count. It seems like they suddenly don't have time for each other. He now questions his decision to make Arabelle his assistant. Although she seems to enjoy her new job. She didn't complain even if she wasn't able to eat lunch. Now he's worried about her.
When they finally reach the kitchen, Arabelle checks the fridge right away. It looks like a fridge of someone on a diet. All she can see are fruits and vegetables plus a lot of pork liver in the freezer. She can eat those food but she's not in the mood for liver. After missing lunch, she's craving for a big dinner. The content of the fridge seems to be too healthy for her. She's tempted to just go out for dinner instead. It will be better to just go to a restaurant.
“The restaurant seems to be a good idea.” she told him after closing the fridge with werewolf food inside.
“I knew there's nothing substantial there. Justin bought those from the market himself.” he replied.
“I want to eat something fat and oily for dinner. I'll go to the market tomorrow to buy food to cook.” she said.
“Okay, let's go out now. I know you're already hungry.” he responded and held her hand as they left.
That's what Arabelle likes about Ralph. Even if he doesn't eat, he always makes an effort to feed her. She feels spoiled by him but she's not complaining. The best thing about dating a vampire is that they don't need a car. He can move so fast that they are instantly in the restaurant now. It's actually a steak house which is exactly what she was craving. She wants to have meat for dinner with a lot of side dishes. As if he can read her mind all the time.
She suddenly felt uneasy thinking about it now. What if he can really read her mind? She made her research about it after meeting him. According to the articles, vampires can read minds and even do mind control. She can't help but feel exposed. Although looking at him now, it doesn't seem that he's using it on her. She trusts that he's not reading her mind even if he can. Just in case, she's now thinking about having an iced tea along with her steak.
“It all looks delicious. What are you having?” He asked while looking at the menu even if he's not going to eat.
“I want the tenderloin, rib eye steak, mac and cheese, coleslaw and potato salad.Then iced tea and brownie ala mode for dessert.” she replied and now embarrassed.
“Those are good choices. Let's order now.” He replied and waved to get the waiter's attention.
“Just order two drinks so nobody notices that I'm the only one eating.” she suggested and he nodded.
She feels so hungry that's why she's ordering for two. It's also a good idea to appear as if they are both eating. Eating out is a good idea until other people notice that she's the only one eating. She has to be aware of how they will act outside the castle. People talk when they see something weird. It's better to avoid that from happening. Even if they are already in the modern times, humans are still scared about the things they don't understand.
