Never Ending
Arabelle and Ralph can't find any vending machine in the hallway. They are hoping that they can go back to their own dimension when they find it. That's how Arabelle was able to go back before. Although she was not aware that she ended up in a different dimension. It seems to be hard to go back if you're aware of what's happening. They still keep on walking even if they are not sure if they will find their way back. It's the only thing they can do for now.
“I hope we don't have to be here for a long time.” she told Ralph who seems to be in deep thought.
“Don't worry, we will find a way out of here soon.” Ralph replied but still seems to be thinking about something.
They can't stay in that dimension for a long time. Ralph is worried about being with her right now. What if he suddenly feels his thirst for blood? He doesn't know if he can control himself. It will be hard not to be tempted to drink her blood. When he feels like he is about to lose control, he needs to stay away from her. How can he do that if they are stuck in that hallway? It will be hard to hide since they are just walking in circles around there.
“Are you okay?” she asked and sounded worried.
“Yeah, I'm fine. Let's just keep going.” he replied.
Arabelle felt hungry already and then thought about Ralph. What if he suddenly gets hungry as well? As much as she doesn't want to worry, it's hard. He's a vampire which means he wants blood to fill him up. It's a bad time to be with him in that place. She will not be able to outrun him and she can't hide either. They need to get out of that place as soon as possible. It will be better to avoid that thought from happening. She's not scared but what if?
“I'm already hungry. How can we get out of here?” she asked herself more than him.
“Once we find the vending machine, you can already eat. Don't worry, I'm not hungry yet.” he informed her.
She was able to breathe with his response about hunger. At least she doesn't have to worry about Ralph sucking her blood anytime soon. Her only problem is her stomach for now. She's not lying when she told him that she's already hungry. Good thing she was able to also get an answer if Ralph is also hungry. They are the only ones around here and she's human. She trusts him not to end up sucking up her blood though and hopes for the best.
“In case I'm nowhere to be seen, don't look for me. It means that I'm already hungry.” he instructed her
“Okay, I'll try to hide from you just in case.” she replied.
Arabelle knows that he will not hurt her but still feels scared of that possibility. If he ends up without a choice, he might bite her neck. That's not impossible to happen especially if they can't get out of here. Although Ralph doesn't look like he will do that, it’s not easy to fight the blood thirst. When that time comes, she might end up letting him drink her blood so that he can survive. She might be able to do that out of love even if it's terrifying.
“Don't worry, I'm not going to drink your blood.” Ralph informed her seeing her terrified expression.
“I know you won't. Problem is, I might let you do that though.” she told him honestly.
“Let's just look for a way out of here.” he can't believe that she will allow him to drink her blood.
“Look, there's a door on that side!” she suddenly noticed and pointed in that direction.
Ralph can't believe how that door suddenly appeared. They have been walking in the same direction for a long time. Although he's a bit suspicious about the door, it's worth checking it. At least there's something different from that hallway. Maybe they can really get out of there soon as long as they keep on going. When he opened the door, he found a room the same as the room in that hospital. He signalled Arabelle that it's safe for them to enter it.
“There's nothing here.” she whispered as if worried that someone might hear her voice.
“It looks the same as the room in the hospital.” he told her what he noticed about it.
“There's the vending machine!” she can't help but feel excited now that they were able to finally find it.
“Hold my hand to make sure we're not going to be separated.” he suggested before they approached it.
Arabelle immediately took Ralph's hand to make sure that they could go back together. She doesn't even want to imagine being alone around here. The longer they stay in this place, the more terrifying it gets. It seems like there's nobody there except them. She can feel that somebody's out there that they just can't see. But she's not planning on finding it out herself. It made her grip on Ralph's hand tighter as they got closer to the vending machine.
“I think we should buy something from it.” Ralph thought that it might help them to go back to the real world.
“Okay, let's give it a try. Darn it, I don't have any coins with me.” she realized after going through her pockets.
“I hope it's accepting old money.” Ralph tried to feed it with a silver coin for just one drink.
“How come you don't have the new currency? That's too expensive for just one bottled water.” she nagged him.
Ralph can't help but to laugh because of how stingy she seems to be. If they can go back with one silver coin, it's definitely worth it. He hopes that the vending machine will take it so that Arabelle can also have some water. She's already hungry but there's no food around. That vending machine only has different drinks. He decided to just put in his silver coin and wait. The vending machine accepts the silver coin but it unexpectedly dispenses everything.
“Wow, that's a lot of drinks!” he exclaimed while can't believe that it gave him his money's worth.
“At least now we can stay hydrated.” she replied and laughed about the vending machine's humor.
“I was expecting that it will open a portal back to our world.” he said and obviously looked disappointed.
“I don't think that's how it works.” she replied and opened a can of soda to drink instead.
Both of them didn't notice that the other side of the door had already changed. Once they get out of that room, they will no longer be in the never ending hallway. Arabelle seems to take her time drinking her soda for now. After all, they have been walking for such a long time. They deserve to rest in the meantime until they hear growling inside that room. That made them look at each other and then run towards the door without a word.
