Armand's Secret
“Make sure she will drink every drop of the potion.” Armand instructed her.
“Okay, I hope that this will work.” Arabelle replied and gave the potion to her mom.
Her mom was able to take the potion up to the last drop. All they have to do now is wait for it to take effect. Hopefully, the curse will be broken soon. Her mom looks peaceful as she sleeps after taking the potion. They all seem to be worried while waiting for its effect. Amie is now hugging Arabelle's waist as they sit on the bed. The sisters are more worried than anyone. It's their mom who suffers from the curse after all. They have to wait and see.
“Don't worry, she will be fine now.” Ralph consoles her and places one hand on her shoulder as he stands behind.
“She's so thin. I hope she will recover soon.” Arabelle can't stop her tears from falling.
“She will recover soon. Let's just allow the potion to work and let her rest for now.” Armand told her.
“I can sense that the potion is working now. She will be okay.” Justin shared that it made her feel better.
The guys decided to leave them with their mom in the meantime. They need to spend some time with their sick mother. She will feel better once the potion works its way to heal her. Armand can't stop the feeling that Arabelle's mom is familiar. As if he already met her before but can't remember where. He looks around their living room while Ralph and Justin talk to each other. They sit while facing each other on a bamboo couch and he looks around.
“Is mom going to be okay now, sis?” Amie asked, still worried about their sleeping mother.
“Of course, she will be good as new! That potion was made by a powerful warlock.” She replied, assuring her.
“You were gone for a long time. Where did you go?” Amie asked curiously.
“I've been to the Invisible City. The time works differently from there. An hour is already a day here.” she told her.
Amie can't believe that her sister was able to go to the Invisible City. It sounded magical and it seems amazing that time passes differently from there. She suddenly felt the urge to also visit that place. Once her mom recovers, maybe she can also go on a trip. The three of them can go for a vacation. It will be enjoyable if her sister's friends will also join them. Justin is really handsome and just her type. Although she can't let her sister know about it yet.
“Mom is waking up!” Arabelle exclaimed when she saw their mother moving from her sleep.
“Arabelle, you're home!” her mom said the moment she woke up and opened her eyes.
“Yes, mom. I'm here now. How do you feel?” she asked with tears welling on her eyes again.
“I feel good now. Amie always took care of me.” her mom shared and smiled at her youngest.
“Mom, you took care of me when I was younger. I'm just returning the favor.” Amie replied and hugged their mom.
“Oh my girls! What will I do without you?” their mom said and also about to cry because of the moment.
They all shared a meaningful embrace as if telling themselves that everything will be fine. Although their mom is still too thin to stand up. She looks a lot better now compared to before. Maybe the potion already works its way to break the curse. Arabelle still feels worried but decided to just enjoy the moment. In case the curse is still there, she can always try doing the spell. There's no way to know if the curse was lifted but her mom is okay now.
Armand finally saw it as he walked around the living room. It's Arabelle's family picture with her mom and dad on it. Her sister was still a small baby when that photo was taken. Now he knows why Arabelle's mom looks familiar. She's his father's wife! The same pair his mother put a deadly curse on before. She told him everything on her death bed. He was only conceived because of a love potion. When it wore off, his father went back to his wife.
“Arabelle and Amie are my sisters!” he told himself softly.
His mother told him to give that potion to his father's wife. She repented her sins before she died when her own curse bounced back to her. His father died because of the same curse. Arabelle's mom just survived because she also has a witch's blood. Although it looks like it's been consuming her for a long time. How can he tell the truth to Arabelle? She will hate hom for sure even if he's her brother. It will be hard to explain everything to them.
“Guys, my mom wants to see all of you.” Amie announced to them with a relieved smile on her face.
“Okay, let's meet their mom.” Ralph said and got up.
Armand panicked because of what he just found out. What if Arabelle's mom realized who he is? After many years of staying away, the moment still came for him to face his father's family. All he needs to do now is to just play along and pose as Arabelle's friend. It's not time yet to tell them the truth about him. He followed Ralph and Justin to the only room of the house. He also needs to check on her anyway to see if the curse was broken.
“Thank you guys for helping my daughter find the cure for my condition. I feel better now.” Arabelle's mom said.
“No need to thank us. We're happy that you're feeling better.” Ralph replied and held her hand.
“Now that the curse is broken, it will be easier for you to recover.” Justin mentioned and looked at Amie accidentally.
“Well, not quite. The curse is still inside of you. Although the potion was able to control it.” Armand informs her.
“What do you mean it's still in her? How can the curse be broken completely?” Arabelle questions it worriedly.
“When the time comes and it hurts your mom again, the descendant of the witch who cursed her must die.” Armand told her the solution even if it's him.
“It will not hurt me again. Nobody should die!” Arabelle's mom exclaimed and worried about what he said.
“Let's find the descendant just in case.” Arabelle said and decided that she will end the life of anyone if needed.
Armand suddenly felt nervous about what his sister just said. Will she kill him even when she found out that he's her brother? Only time will tell.
