Chapter 53

As the meeting came to an end, I felt a lot better about everything. I finally realized why I was marked by the Moon goddess. I feel foolish that I never realized why the rogue problem was so bad, and that the wars between species were leaving so many people helpless. This meeting has definitely been an eye-opener. I was chosen to bring the supernatural species together, and I refuse to fail.

I don’t expect to ever have complete peace, but the pointless wars need to end. I sent text messages to Dawson and Rowen, and they’re both coming tomorrow night. The boys are busy trying to find information on Ezra’s mate, and I finally get some much-needed alone time with Creed.

With everything going on, I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders, but I also feel completely at peace. Like this is exactly where I’m supposed to be at this moment. Walking hand in hand through my pack with Creed. The moon is high, and the stars are shining bright.

I still want to be mad at him, but I missed him so much I can’t. He really did leave to protect me. He just didn’t do it the right way.

“Look down this street. Do you see the two gray houses on the right and the green one directly across the street?”

“Yes, they look like the rest of the houses.” Creed looked at me with a confused look on his face.

“Right, but what you don’t know is a family of bears lives in the first gray house. They have two teenage boys. A family of wolves live in the second gray house. They have a teenage boy and a younger girl. In the green house is a witch couple with a teenage daughter that the three teenage boys are constantly chasing after and making bets that she’s one of their mates. My point is they are all different, but they're happy. That’s what life is supposed to be like.”

Creed nodded, “I don’t know a lot about other species. Only their strengths and weaknesses, so we can take them down.”

“Regardless of what species they are, we all have a human counterpart. I think that’s what the main problem is. Somewhere along the line, the leaders have forgotten that we’re all just people. It shouldn’t matter what species we can change into. My pack doesn’t segregate anyone. Some people choose to live up the hill further or off pack territory for varies reasons, but it’s always their choice.”

“So, the question is, what are we going to do about it, Arabella Volino?”

Creed smiled and squeezed my hand as we continued walking, with no real destination in mind.

“I’m not sure yet, but I had this idea awhile ago that keeps replaying in my mind. What if we start new packs like Green Ridge? They will be like combination packs.” I laughed.

“I don’t know what to call them yet. Packs, dens, covens? They will be a place where any supernatural can live. It’s just a matter of figuring out how the leadership will work. Green Ridge was started as a wolf pack, so it’s ran like a wolf pack, but that doesn’t mean that the new packs need to be ran like that.”

Creed nodded, “well, depending on how many leaders we can get on our side, you could have a bear den start one, and a wolf pack. Start smaller and work your way up to multiple territories.”

“Yeah, I also think that the leaders that are against us now are going to fight any change. They’re not going to listen to reason, they're going to have to be forced into the change or overthrown.”

Creed nodded, “I think Cyrus and I just proved that point. You do know that as soon as our bond is complete, you’re not only a magical wolf but also a dragon princess, right? My den and I will help you in any way we can.”

“And I thought I couldn’t be any more of a hybrid,” I laughed.

Creed smiled as he pushed a piece of my hair behind my ear, “your perfect in every way.”

My heart skipped a beat as I looked into those amazing bright green eyes. I felt his hand slide to the back of my neck as he leaned down and gently brought his lips to mine. A nice slow connection.

“Absolutely perfect,” Creed smiled as he pulled his lips away from mine.

“Well, I, um, thanks,” I smiled back.

Why can’t I think around him? I’m such an idiot sometimes.

“What’s this land for over here,” Creed asked as he saw the empty space on the edge of our community.

“It’s something I wanted to talk to you about,” I smiled.

“I love Green Ridge, and now that I’ve spent some time away, I can’t see myself ever living anywhere else. I was hoping you would agree with me that it’s the perfect spot for a dragon and magical wolf/dragon princess’s home.”

Creed wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close, so my back was up against his chest.

“That’s a lot of land for just two people. What else is in your plan, firecracker?

“Well, I know how much the Dragons need you and I couldn’t ask you to leave them behind. I was thinking that maybe you and Cyrus would want to set up the dragon den here. My pack and your Den could come together as a community just like we’re coming together as mates.”

“Hmm, I’ve got to run this idea past the den, but I like the way you think.” He kissed my neck as we looked over the empty land that has nothing but green grass growing on it.

“I can see it now, our home, in that corner to the left. Our little dragon’s running around the yard.”

“You mean, little Wolf’s”

“I mean whatever magical wolf/dragon the moon goddess gives us.”

I laughed as Creed lightly tickled my stomach.

“Maybe we should start working on that.” Creed slid his hand up and down my side, before slowly running his fingers across my stomach, along the edge of my pants.

“Bella, Uncle Gavin found Abby’s pack. He’s working on a plan to get her here to surprise Ezra.”

“Shit, who got Uncle Gavin involved?”

“What?”

“No not,” I shook my head. “Ryker just linked me. They found Abby, Ezra’s fated mate. I’ve got to go help them before Uncle Gavin and the boy’s scare her off for good.”

“Maybe we should rethink this whole staying so close to your family thing?”

I smiled and grabbed his hand, “it wouldn’t matter. The craziness seems to follow me. They may have horrible timing, but I love them and want to help. Let’s go.”
