Chapter 13 (Consent)

The doorknob slowly turns and the door is swung open.

"Hello, Miss Sara. It's nice to see you again." She smiles. She is quite an attractive woman with her big blue eyes and short black hair.

"Hello, Miss Noe. Did you need me for something?" I try to hurry up as I don't want Reece to be noticed.

"Ahh yes, the general wanted someone to bring him his meal and all the other maids are occupied." No. I can't face him right now.

"Actually, I feel kind of sick. I don't want the general to catch a cold because of me." I try to sound as sincere as possible.

"Well, okay then. I guess I could find someone else who isn't occupied. " She didn't ask further questions and just left the room.

I stare at the door being closed and almost forget that I had someone else in the room with me. I look under my bed and Reece is gone but before I could turn around I feel two hands grabbing my waist and lifting me up the air.

"Reece stop!!" I say while laughing. He puts me down and looks at me.

"So I was thinking. Why don't we go on a little field trip together?" He smirks.

"You mean like a date? But how will we go without being seen?" I ask mostly concerned about his safety.

"That's easy! You just have to go out normally and I just have to sneak out. Then we can meet in between." I can't do this. Its been just a few days since Reece got shot with an arrow and now he wants to sneak out and go on a date?

"We can't, you just got shot with an arrow! What if people out there are trying to hurt you again? What will you do?" I just can't let you get hurt again.

"It will be fine! No one will know that I'm the Price. I will dress up as a commoner." I can't take the risk!

"No! You have to be safe!" I scream a little. He looks at me and smiles.

"What are you smiling for?" I am getting a little annoyed at this point. He just doesn't know when to stop.

"If you don't come with me ill sneak out anyway, so decide whether you are going to keep an eye on me or whether I go all alone." He smirks. Ugghh He is so stubborn!

"There is just no winning with you is there!" I scream a little and we both enter a staring contest. After a few minutes, I couldn't take it anymore.

"Fine! You win!!" I show my tongue to him and moke him. He starts laughing, he then kisses me on the cheek and starts heading out the door but stops mid-way.

"Meet me at nightingale alley at 6:00" He smiles and closes the door behind him. I can just feel that tomorrow is going to be a long day!

I step out and go to Miss Noe because I still feel guilty that I lied. I may have been ruthless but I am not a lier. This could also be a good opportunity for me to get close to the general and see if what Eve said is true.

I head upstairs to see Miss Noe and find her eventually.

"Hey, Miss Noe?" I unsurely speak.

"Yes, Sara. Are you feeling a bit better? Do you need anything? Some medicine perhaps?" Why is she so kind! I feel super guilty right now.

"Yes, yes I feel better. Can you assign me something to do?" I ask

"Sure. Um..." She looks around frantically.

"Ah, Can you please send this to the general?" I should have seen this coming ughhh. She hands me a flower pot and I run upstairs to my room before heading to the general's room.

I try to put a lot of makeup so that I am somewhat unrecognizable. I then run up the stairs and knock on the general's door. I hide my face a little bit by placing the flower pot right in my face.

"Come in." I feel shivers as I am both scared of him and angry with him. Everything happened because of him! My parents died, hundreds of people died!

I slowly come in and try to hide my face with the vase. The room was beautiful. There was a white chandelier dangling in the center of the room and The bed was purple with a splash of silver. It looked almost like my bedroom in my palace except I had black walls and this room has white ones. I got distracted because of the room and stood a little too long.

"It's ok. I know I'm very handsome." I almost choked. Please. A donkey is more handsome than you. I wanted to scream my remark but decided I was going to be a decent person today. Also, I didn't want to get killed.

"Sorry, Sir! I did not mean to stare... Where should I leave these?" I point towards the vase filled with flowers and in turn, he points towards a bedside table. I leave the vase and try to leave the room but I stumble and fall and that idiot catches me. I immediately pushed him away.

"I'm-I'm so sorry Sir" I bow down to him when in reality I want to kick him in the-

"It's quite alright." If he wasn't a serial killer. I would actually think he is kind.

"You are such a beauty." He says while trying to caress my cheek but I take a step back. This is disgusting. He is the same age as my dad! I don't know his exact age but he is at least 20 years older than me!

"Why are you a maid? If you come with me I can give you a better life." Oh god no. I would rather live with a pig than live with you.

"There is no need Sir. I'm quite happy with my life." I take another step backward.

"Relax I'm not going to do anything to you without your consent." You would. You're a killer.

"Okay, sir. Please excuse me now." he nods and I rush out of the room.

Well, that was sure a turn of events.
