I walked into my family's mansion where only Grand Grand stayed now. The house was eerily quiet, the only sound coming from my footsteps as I walked towards Grand Grand's room. She had sent me a message, urging me to come see her.

As I entered the room, Grand Grand greeted me warmly. She had always been there for me since I lost my parents. I couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence in my life.

"Lucas!" Grand Grand called out as she saw me. "It's so good to see you."

"It's good to see you too, Grand Grand," I replied, giving her a hug.

"I'm glad you could come," she said, leading me to the living room. "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"What's going on?" I asked, taking a seat on the couch.

"Well, I've been worried about you," Grand Grand said, taking a seat next to me. "How have you been?"

"I've been okay," I said, shrugging. "Just busy with work and stuff."

"I see," Grand Grand said, nodding. "And how's Evelyn?"

I sighed. "She's fine"

Last time I saw her was since the incident. There is no sign of her, maybe she needed time alone.

I mean, what I did the other day was uncalled for and she deserved better. Hearing someone precisely your husband talk about his lover which still happens to be your sister, was messed up.

After dragging her into this mess.

Shaking her head, "You need to make time for the people you care about."

"I know," I said, looking down. "I just don't want to burden her with my problems."

"That's not how relationships work, Lucas," Grand Grand said, placing a hand on his knee. "You need to be honest and open with her. She's there to support you."

"I know you're right," I said, looking back up at her. "I just don't know how to bring it up."

"Just be honest with her," Grand Grand said, giving him a reassuring smile. "Tell her how you're feeling and what's been going on. She'll understand."

I nodded. "Yeah, you're right. I'll talk to her tonight."

"I'm glad to hear that," Grand Grand said, patting his knee. "You know I'm always here for you, Lucas. Don't forget that."

"I won't," I said, feeling grateful for his great-grandmother's wisdom. "Thanks, Grand Grand. You're the best."

Grand Grand smiled. "You're welcome, dear. Now, tell me about work. How's that going?"

I'm suprised that she didn't sense all the lies I had cooked up or did she? Was she playing dump?

Certainly not.

I took a deep breath and began to tell Grand Grand about my work. I talked about the challenges I was facing and the progress I was making. Grand Grand listened intently, nodding and asking questions.

After a while, I paused and looked at her. "You know, Grand Grand, I don't know what I would do without you. You always know exactly what to say."

Grand Grand smiled. "That's what great-grandmothers are for, dear. I'm here to support you and help you whenever you need it."

I smiled back at her. "I'm so glad I came to see you today. I feel so much better now."

"I'm glad to hear that," Grand Grand said, patting my knee. "I always enjoy spending time with you, Lucas. You're such a wonderful young man."

I grinned. "Thanks, Grand Grand. You're pretty wonderful yourself."

We sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, enjoying each other's company.

Finally, Grand Grand stood up. "Well, I think it's time for some tea and cookies, don't you?"

I laughed. "I think that sounds like a great idea."

As we walked to the kitchen, I felt grateful for my great-grandmother's love and support. I knew that I could always count on her, no matter what.

We reached the kitchen and Grand Grand began to prepare the tea and cookies. I watched as she expertly brewed the tea and arranged the cookies on a plate.

As we sat at the table, sipping our tea and nibbling on cookies, Grand Grand began to tell me stories from her youth. She told me about growing up during the Great Depression and the challenges she faced. She talked about the joys and sorrows of her life, and the lessons she had learned.

I listened intently, fascinated by her stories. Grand Grand had always been a great storyteller, and I loved hearing about her life.

After a while, I realized that it was getting late and I needed to head back to work. I stood up and hugged Grand Grand tightly. "Thank you so much for everything, Grand Grand. I love you."

"I love you too, dear," Grand Grand said, patting my back. "Take care of yourself, and come visit me again soon."

As I walked out of the house, I felt a sense of peace and contentment. Grand Grand had a way of making everything seem right in the world. I knew that no matter what challenges I faced, I could always count on her love and support.

As I stepped into the car, a notification popped on from James, my Trustee private investigator.

I clicked the message and the next thing I saw made my heart drop.

Headline that read "Billionaire Alexandra Rodriguez and Personal Assistant Evelyn Jones caught making out in LA, is this Hollywood's new power couple?".

My fists clenched and my face twisted in anger. My calmness and composure are running thin. Now I was seething with rage.

My eyes blazed with fury, nostrils flared with every breath. My jaw tightened, and my muscles were tense.

I probably looked like I was about to explode.

I felt a mix of emotions, from anger to disbelief to betrayal. I had been sick and worried for days only for me to see her with Alex, of all people it had to be him.

Were they together all this time?

Well it didn't matter, cause now she was with me and no one. And I am not letting her tumble with my image at least not until we make it out of alignment.

I rapidly and impatiently dialed on my secretary's number.

"I need you to get my jet ready and make sure that the pilot is ready to leave for LA in 10 minutes."

There was a tone of seriousness laced in my voice, and I could tell that my secretary could sense it. She quickly responded, "Yes, sir. I'll make sure that everything is ready to go."

I hung up the phone and took a deep breath. I had a lot riding on this trip, and I couldn't afford any delays. I had to get to LA as quickly as possible.

I quickly gathered my things and headed out the door. I could feel the adrenaline pumping through my veins as I made my way to the airport. I knew that this was going to be a make or break moment for me.

I strode down the tarmac towards my private jet, my mind racing with thoughts of how I should handle the situation.

One thing for sure, I was gonna break every bone in his body.

As I approached the plane, I could see my attendant waiting for me, a warm smile on her face. But I was in no mood for pleasantries. I ignored her greeting and continued walking towards the plane.

I could feel the uneasiness and impatience I was, if only teleportation existed.

As I boarded the plane, I could feel the familiar hum of the engines as they roared to life. I took my seat and closed my eyes, trying to clear my mind and focus on the task at hand.

But my thoughts kept drifting back to the image, and I couldn't shake the feeling of anger that was creeping over me. I knew that there was nothing between Evelyn and I rather than us being compelled to be together but now, I had to change that.

She needs to know who she's married to.

As we took off into the sky, I could feel the plane climbing higher and higher, the world falling away beneath me. I tried to focus on the beauty of the view, but my mind was consumed with thoughts of my wife with someone else

I knew that I had to keep calm, to not mess things up as they already are but there's something with Evelyn.

She makes me feel things not even Alice had. Somehow somewhere I feel drawn to her as though we had shared something in the past but I can't fathom how.

Or was it just my instincts messing around with me.

The pressure was starting to get to me, and I could feel myself cracking under the strain.

As we landed in the city where the meeting was to be held, I took a deep breath and tried to compose myself.

I pulled out my phone and dialed a number. My fingers moved with a practiced ease, and you could tell that I was no stranger to making calls like this.

I brought the phone to his ear and waited impatiently, my expression stoic and powerful.

"Find me Alexandra Rodriguez"
