Chapter 281 Eventually, We Have to Face It

"Alice, this is the information my son pulled some strings to get for you. He even had to give gifts for it! If you relied on your own family, who knows how long it would take to find out. You can't forget this favor."

Wendy repeated what Bobby had taught her to say, essentially trying to get some benefits from Alice.

In reality, Sophia gave Bobby the address; Bobby didn't find it himself.

"Wendy, don't worry! You'll definitely get your share of benefits. I can't let your son work for nothing. After I finish my business over there, I'll treat you to a meal."

After Alice hung up the phone, she immediately called Ella and Lisa. The three of them hurriedly headed to the neighborhood where Ashley was temporarily staying.

The address Wendy provided was in the suburban Emerald Gardens Villas Community - Autumn Leaves District.

The Spring District here had high-quality apartments, the Summer Breeze District had townhouses, and the Autumn Leaves District had rare villas.

The three of them got off the bus and looked at the grand entrance of the community. Alice felt both envious and jealous.

"Mom, when they first started selling here, I checked out the high-rises in the Spring District. Back then, the price was only three to four thousand dollars per square foot. At its peak, it went up to ten thousand dollars per square foot, and now it's around eight thousand dollars per square foot. If Luna's in-laws bought it early, they probably got this villa for about 24 million dollars."

Lisa meant that Luna's in-laws weren't particularly wealthy. If they were, they would have bought a villa in the city center. If they were even richer, they would have gone for Pine Valley Villas, where the top elites of Bright City lived.

"Being able to afford a suburban villa and having a house in the city is still pretty good. They didn't even look at me after marrying my granddaughter! Today, I'll show them what I'm made of!"

Alice waved her hand, and Ella and Lisa immediately followed.

At the entrance, they slipped in behind a resident and headed straight for Villa 102.

But when they got there, they found the door locked.

Ashley usually went back to the old house at night and didn't live here. She only came by during the day occasionally.

"Mom, she's not home. What do we do?" Ella looked dejected, thinking this trip was a waste.

"It's fine if she's not home. I have ways to make her show up!"

Alice patted her chest and turned to knock on the neighbor's door.

An hour later, Ashley, who had just arrived at the community entrance, saw the property manager running towards her in a hurry.

"Ma'am, hello. Are you the owner of Unit 102?" The property manager recognized Ashley and was about to call her when she showed up.

"Yes, that's me. What's going on?"

Ashley was accompanied by a servant from the old house who was there to help clean.

"Ma'am, there's an elderly lady claiming to be your in-law. She brought her two daughters and, unable to get into your house, started knocking on neighbors' doors asking for food.

She said she had an appointment with you to discuss her granddaughter's marriage to your son. Since you weren't home and she was hungry, she started asking neighbors for food and drink. When they refused, she wouldn't leave. The residents all called the property management, so we had to settle her in the office."

After the property manager finished speaking, Ashley was momentarily stunned.

"In-law? Could it be..."

Ashley finally realized it might be Luna's outrageous grandmother and her aunt Lisa, and she couldn't help but laugh in anger.

That old lady had some nerve to find her way here!
