Chapter 280 Ambitious and Hypocritical

Chapter 280 Ambitious and Hypocritical

Charles was also puzzled as to why Eric was by the roadside. Shouldn't he be at the cafe? Although it wasn't far from the cafe, why wasn't Sandra the one pushing the wheelchair?

Charles parked the car by the roadside, and Luna immediately got out and ran over.

"Eric!" Luna called out.

Eric, who was dozing off in the wheelchair, perked up and looked at her.

"Luna, you and Charles are back?"

"Yes, who is this? Where's Sandra?"

Luna curiously looked at the woman pushing the wheelchair.

The woman had a good demeanor, was dressed in a chic designer outfit, and appeared to be in her early thirties. Her makeup was a bit heavy but very refined.

Charles also walked over, inexplicably finding the woman somewhat familiar.

"Hello, are you Eric's sister? I'm Sandra's daughter-in-law. Sandra isn't feeling well today and is resting at the cafe. Eric wanted to go out for inspiration for his painting, and since I was free, I brought him out for a walk. We were just about to reach the cafe when we ran into you."

After the woman introduced herself, Charles remembered seeing her photo on Sandra's phone.

However, Sandra was very protective of the Lee family's privacy. She had worked for the Lee family for so long that her son and daughter-in-law didn't know, thinking she had just worked for a wealthy family before.

Now, she had saved some money to open a cafe and was also helping a young couple in the neighborhood take care of a sick child to earn some extra cash.

They didn't know that Charles had funded the cafe for Sandra.

"Thank you so much. I'll take over pushing Eric so you won't be delayed."

Luna had an immediate dislike for Sandra's daughter-in-law at first sight.

She exuded a shrewdness typical of a businessperson and gave off a sense of hypocrisy.

In short, she felt this person was ambitious and somewhat insincere.

But since she wasn't family, it didn't concern her how others behaved.

"Alright then, I'll leave Eric to you."

Sandra's daughter-in-law smiled at Luna and Charles before leaving.

She couldn't help but glance at Charles a few more times out of the corner of her eye.

This man, dressed in a well-tailored suit that didn't show a brand but was clearly of high quality, exuded a powerful aura of authority, far from being a mere worker.

Why would someone like him appear in a mid-range neighborhood like this?

"Eric, how many times have you met her?" Luna asked casually as she pushed Eric.

"This is the second time. Last time, she came to borrow something from Sandra, but I didn't hear clearly. She said I had a talent for painting and encouraged me to keep at it. Today, Sandra wasn't feeling well, and she came again, urging me to paint, saying watching me paint was a pleasure, and asking me to finish my previous painting soon so she could see it."

"I was very tired today, so I excused myself by saying I had no inspiration. She then offered to take me out to find inspiration, saying that if I stayed, it would affect Sandra's rest. I had no choice but to agree."

From Eric's attitude, it seemed he was also somewhat helpless about Sandra's daughter-in-law.

She appeared to be enthusiastic, but always gave off a strange vibe.

"If you don't like interacting with her, call me next time she comes, and I'll handle it."

"It's okay, Luna," Eric waved his hand, not taking it seriously.

After all, he was just a fifteen-year-old kid and didn't think too much about it. In his world, as long as his sister was happy, nothing else mattered. He didn't want to trouble Luna over such a small matter.

But Luna sensed something different.

At the Ella household, Alice received a call from Wendy early in the morning. Wendy gave her the address of Luna's in-laws, which made Alice's eyes light up.
