✨Chapter 23✨
"Where is the bastard?!" Jerry screamed as soon as he got to the police station.
The police brought Roy out of jail and were planning to release him when Jerry got in. Without thinking twice, Jerry ran to him and punched him.
He punched him a few more times before the police separated them.
"What do you think you are doing?" a policeman asked Jerry.
"You can ask the bastard what I'm doing and if you dare to release a psychopath like him into the society again, it means you are also psychopaths like him" Jerry concluded and left.
He got into his car and drove roughly to Julia's house which he arrived at in no time.
Peterson wasn't at home when he arrived and the gate wasn't locked so he just went in after parking his car outside.
He rang the doorbell of the main door and Andrea was the one that heard it. After seeing who it was, she opened the door.
"Good afternoon! Please where is Julia?" he asked looking around.
"You were ignoring her calls and messages so why are you here now?" Andrea rolled her eyes.
"Please just help me call her downstairs and let me explain things to her. I can even go upstairs instead" he said and proceeded to go up but Andrea stopped him.
"Julia needs space right now and you are also not permitted to go upstairs until you've settled the dispute between you two. You can choose to wait here until she comes downstairs or return home" Andrea said.
"I will wait here. Even if I have to wait for a year, I will still keep waiting" Jerry said.
"Fine, suit yourself" Andrea said.
She took a bottle of wine and poured it into a glass which she gave to Jerry.
"If you really are willing to wait for a year, why didn't you just pick her call. She was scared and right now, I don't know if she's okay or not" Andrea sighed.
"It's not like I didn't answer it on purpose. I didn't hear the phone ringing so I came after seeing her missed calls and messages" Jerry explained.
"It's not my place to interfere or judge so I will leave you two to it. You can explain everything to her when she comes downstairs" Andrea concluded and left.
The triplets returned some minutes later and met Jerry still waiting for Julia to come down the stairs. The kids went upstairs to see Julia when she still refused to go downstairs.
When it was around past 7pm in the evening, Julia finally came out of her room. She expected Jerry to have left already but was surprised to see Jerry still sitting on a couch.
"Why are you still here?" Julia asked
"I'm here because I want to see you. I know our relationship just started but is it so weak that just anyone can come in between us within a few minutes?" Jerry asked
"I don't have anything to say to you so just leave" Julia said.
"I know I will have to leave whether I like it or not since this isn't my house. I'm only here to make things clear to you" Jerry said.
"There's no need for that, I'm okay without the explanation" Julia shrugged.
"Whether you are okay or not doesn't matter. What matters is that I'm going to make things clear to you.
Roy was right about being my stepbrother, I don't think he will lie to you about that. But anything he said besides that is a lie" Jerry said.
"You don't even know what he said so how do you know it's a lie?" Julia asked.
"I don't need to know what he said because it's obvious from your text already. The only reason why I approached you is because of my feelings for you and no other reason"
"Okay" Julia simply said
"You are still giving me the cold shoulder but it's fine. I guess I deserve that at least for having a psychopath stepbrother.
Anyway, we can't continue this relationship anymore. If my brother is really the father of your triplets, it won't make sense for us to be together. I'm sorry for hurting your feelings" Jerry concluded and left.
"You just allowed him to leave like that?" Andrea asked and walked out of the room she had been staying.
"I don't have a choice right? Like he said, we can't be together because of his brother" Julia said.
"Are you okay?" Andrea asked.
"I'm not, I think I need a hug" Julia said with tears rolling down her cheeks.
After a few minutes, she was able to calm down and Andrea offered her a glass of water.
"I really wanted to try to work things out with him so I can forget about Dylan but I honestly wasn't expecting things to turn out this way. It was hard to date him and focus on the relationship and now, I'm back at my initial position" Julia said.
"What's your initial position? You still love Dylan right?" Andrea asked.
"Just try to sort things out between yourselves. He loves you and you love him so what are you waiting for? He might have made a mistake in the past but it wasn't even entirely his fault. Just forgive him already" Andrea said.
"I don't want to. Because of him, I now have triplets that don't can't ever see their dad until they leave this world" Julia said.
"Fine then. You can choose to do whatever you like" Andrea concluded.
*Two days later*
Dylan already bought a piece of land and was beginning to build his company again. The workers were working everyday and Dylan only went to see them a few times.
He waited for Julia's triplets return that afternoon and as soon as they came down from the car, he went to them with smiles on his face.
"How are you doing?" he asked still smiling.
"We are fine" the kids answered him and he kept talking to them until they went in.
All these time, he was rubbing their hair with his palm and managed to pull a few strands of Hayden's hair.
He immediately left the house that afternoon and went to one of his friend who was a doctor. They talked and talked and Dylan was told to come back in two days for the result.
"I haven't been seeing Julia's boyfriend for a while. Did something happen?" Dylan asked Peterson that night.
"Something happened but I don't think I should be telling you" Peterson said.
"It's okay, Julia won't do anything to you" Dylan assured.
"I know that. Well, something happened between them and they broke up" Peterson summarized.
"They broke up? What happened between them that made them break up?" Dylan asked.
"I'm not sure if I should be telling you this but her boyfriend turned out to be the brother of her babies' daddy" Peterson said.
"Her babies' daddy? You know who the father of her triplets is?" Dylan asked.
"Yes but I can't explain the circumstances surrounding it to you. Miss Julia can explain the rest to you herself" Peterson concluded and left.
"The triplets are really not mine like Julia said?" Dylan mumbled to himself.
He was upset that he just wasted his money on the DNA test and on the other hand, he was sad because he really wasn't the father of Julia's babies.
"We were together for over two years but she never got pregnant for me. Just within how many months, she got pregnant for someone else. She must really not love me" he muttered to himself.
He walked out of the house to sit in the garden for a while and just clear his head but he met Julia also on the way to the garden.
"Why does she keep making things hard for me?" he asked himself.
"What did you say?" Julia asked.
"You don't have a boyfriend now so what's your excuse? I agree that I made a mistake and don't deserve your forgiveness but don't you think you've punished me enough? You know you are the only one I've ever loved in my life so why can't you just come back to me?" Dylan asked.
"What if I come back to you and another Nicole appears out of nowhere? I don't want to experience heartbreak any longer. I just want to live happily and take care of my kids" Andrea said.
"We can take care of them together. I will see them as my children and give them all the support I can" Dylan said.
"Thanks but I'm not interested" Julia said and walked away.
Dylan couldn't stay in the garden anymore so he returned to his room.
He got a call two days later from his friend that he went to conduct a DNA test.
"I told you to come back for your test, did you forget?" his friend, Tony asked after they exchanged pleasantries
"I don't want the result anymore, just forget it" Dylan said.
"Wow! Are you doing this because you are too rich? You seem to not know how much you spent on this test" Tony teased.
"I said I don't need it anymore because I know what the result states. It's going to be negative anyway" Dylan shrugged.
"Negative? What if I say you are wrong?" Tony asked.
"I'm sure it's negative so don't try anything funny".Dylan said.
"Okay, you are wrong. The result is positive and I'm very serious right now" Tony said in a different tone.
"What?!"
