✨Chapter 15✨
"Memory loss? Who had a memory loss?" Julia asked.
"Dylan, of course! He kept it a secret because of Nicole, and she has been using it to her advantage," Andrea said.
"And you believed him? I can't believe you listened to such a blatant lie. He couldn't come up with another excuse except memory loss. That's the dumbest and lamest thing I've ever heard in my life," Julia spat.
"But it's true. He didn't even recognize me when I got there," Andrea said.
"He was obviously putting on an act," Julia said.
"Was Nicole putting on an act too? She didn't want Dylan to listen to what I was saying because, obviously, his cover would be blown," Andrea said.
"Whatever! I don't care if he lost his memory or not. I will be in my room," Julia said and left.
Dylan couldn't go to work that morning. He just returned to the house and thought about everything Andrea told him. If it's true, then Nicole lied to him and made him live in a lie for almost four years.
He decided to wait until Nicole returned in the evening and ask her what the truth was.
When Nicole returned later from work, she ignored Dylan completely and climbed the stairs.
"So you don't even greet your husband when you come back from work now," Dylan said.
"I clearly asked you to choose between Andrea and me this morning and you made your choice. You can as well make her your wife if you want." Nicole shrugged.
"I know, right? You never loved me from the start, and you only used me to accomplish your goal, so even if I ask for a divorce right now, you won't care." Dylan laughed.
"You're right! I never loved you. I didn't know what Julia saw in you that made her marry you, but I finally saw it when I became your fiancee. You are the most gullible human being in the world. I asked you not to tell anyone that you lost your memory, and you really didn't tell them. Anyway, I'm leaving your mansion tonight so you can suit yourself. Forget about divorce because the marriage certificate was fake from the start," Nicole concluded and went upstairs to pack her things.
Dylan stared at the stairs unbelievably, even after she left. It was hard to comprehend the fact that Nicole was only using him all this while. Even their marriage certificate was fake all along, so it means he wasn't even married to her from the start.
"Don't use the drugs upstairs again unless you want to lose your memory all over. I switched the drugs that the doctor gave you, and that's one of the main reasons why you couldn't remember anything after all these while. Bye!" Nicole said and left with her luggage.
Dylan could only sit on the floor and cry his eyes out after she left. He felt betrayed and used, but what could he do? Everything happened because of his stupidity, so he had no one to blame.
After crying nonstop, he began to remember his past in detail. He remembered when Julia left the house and how he followed behind her, only for him to get into an accident.
He also remembered how he got drunk and found himself in a hotel with Nicole and even remembered his wedding with Julia. He couldn't eat or sleep that night, and the only thing he did was cry bitterly throughout the night.
*Julia's mansion*
Julia locked herself in her room from morning till evening. Even when her triplets returned from school, she didn't open the door.
Everyone was worried about her, but there was nothing they could do when she didn't open the door. Peterson even tried to break the door, but Andrea stopped him, saying Julia probably needed some time alone.
While everyone was waiting for her to come out that night, they heard a honk at the gate. Peterson went to check it out, and when he saw that it was Jerry, he opened the gate.
"Good evening. Is Julia in?" Jerry asked after getting out of his car.
"She's in, but it's like she's not in. She locked herself inside her room since morning, so I don't think you can see her today," Peterson said.
"Why did she lock herself?" Jerry asked.
"I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with her ex-husband," Peterson answered.
"Okay. Let's go inside then," Jerry said and led the way.
"Oh, Jerry, it's you!" Andrea sighed when she saw him.
"Where is she?" Jerry asked.
"In her room," Andrea said and pointed upstairs.
"Can you please take me to where her room is?" Jerry asked.
"Sure, but there's nothing you can do. We've been trying since morning," Andrea said and took him upstairs.
"Julia, it's Jerry," Jerry said.
"Please open the door," he added.
"If you don't open the door, I will break it down," Jerry said after a few minutes.
"And if I break it down, I won't stop there. I don't want to say what I will do since the kids are here, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about," Jerry added.
"I'm counting five. Five......four......three....."
Julia opened the door before he could say two, and her eyes were swollen, which meant she had been crying.
"Julia, are you okay?" Andrea rushed to her side.
"I'm fine and I'm sorry" she apologized.
"It's okay. We will leave you guys to talk," Andrea said and left with Peterson and the kids.
"Come inside," Julia said and made way for him.
"So you locked yourself up and were crying? Why?" Jerry asked.
"I don't want to talk about it. Why are you here?" Julia asked.
"I've not gotten a positive response from you, so I'm going to keep coming until I get one," Jerry said.
"You still want me to be your girlfriend?" Julia asked.
"Of course! And if you want to be my wife instead, I will gladly get married to you," Jerry said.
"I will be your girlfriend. Let's take things slow like you suggested," Julia said after keeping quiet for a while.
"Are you serious? You will be my girlfriend?" Jerry asked with a smile on his face.
"Yes. Are you that happy?" Julia asked.
"I'm very happy. You are the second woman I've fallen in love with in this life, and I was scared that you would say no to me because you are a single mom," Jerry said.
"I should be the one that is scared because I'm a mother already. Which single man will want to get married to a single mom?" Julia said.
"You are saying that because you don't know how beautiful you are, coupled with the fact that you are still very young," Jerry said.
"Thank you," Julia blushed.
There was silence between them afterward, and only their racing hearts could be heard. They kept moving closer to each other while staring at each other with passionate eyes that were undressing them already.
"I can't stop myself," Jerry said and kissed her passionately.
His hands roamed around her body, and her hands did the same to his body. There was an intense heat between them, and they couldn't get enough of each other no matter how fierce the kiss was.
