Chapter 21 Sleeping Together

"Amelia, you can finish eating it," Damien said, furrowing his brows lightly.

"Really, it's no problem for you..." Amelia responded, her eyes filled with shyness. Finally, understanding her hesitation, Damien unconsciously licked his lips and stood up.

"Not at all... go ahead and eat. I still have some work to do."

Amelia nodded gently and waited until the door closed before quietly lifting her head and touching her own heart. Something didn't feel quite right. Why was her heart beating so fast?

Damien stood alone on the balcony for a while before entering his study. Ms. Linda tidied up the kitchen and brought Damien a hot cup of tea.

"Young master, will you... be sleeping in the guest room tonight?" she asked.

"No, I'll be sleeping on the couch," Damien replied. Ms. Linda looked at him with a knowing expression. She had suspected it. Seeing how polite Amelia was to her young master, it seemed that he hadn't made any moves yet.

"Young master, I've already cleaned up the room next door in the afternoon. There are multiple rooms there. Why don't you stay there? Sleeping on the couch is not good for your back."

Damien raised his head, took a sip of tea, and responded, "No need. Amelia is still young. What if she needs something at night and can't find anyone?"

Ms. Linda's face became even more conflicted. "Young master, do you see Amelia as a child? She's an adult. There won't be any problem if she sleeps through the night. You have to work every day, it's not good for you to have poor sleep."

Damien's gaze flickered slightly. Amelia was carrying his child in her belly now, of course, someone had to take care of her. "No need. If you've finished tidying up, you can rest."

Unable to persuade Damien, Ms. Linda couldn't help but feel emotional. Her young master truly loved Amelia and couldn't bear to be away from her for even a moment.

Amelia had finished eating the whole cake and still felt unsatisfied. She touched her belly, feeling a bit bloated. It must be because she had eaten too much. She decided that she would have to control her portion tomorrow, otherwise she might end up getting fat.

Without a phone, she went out to check the time and realized it was almost 11 o'clock. She glanced at the study, where Mr. Kingsley had slept on the couch last night. She had taken over his bed.

She hurried back to her room, grabbed her own blanket and pillow, arranged them on the couch, and went to wash up before returning to lie down. As she lay there, she quickly fell asleep.

Damien finished his work and it was almost midnight. He planned to check on Amelia and see how she was sleeping, but when he saw the big lump on the couch, he couldn't see clearly in the dim light of the living room from the study doorway. He approached and took a closer look.

Amelia's small body was curled up on the couch, with the blanket almost covering her entire head. Her mouth was slightly open, sleeping soundly.

He winced, why was this girl sleeping here?

He bent down and carried Amelia, along with the blanket, into the bedroom, gently placing her on the bed.

After making the bed, as he was about to leave, his hand was grabbed.

He stiffened, slowly turned around, and heard Amelia muttering vaguely.

"The sofa is too soft, my back hurts."

He looked at the serene sleeping face of the girl, suddenly smiled, and crouched down by the bedside. His finger lightly touched her slightly parted lips, soft and fragrant, making it irresistible to want to kiss them.

"Young girl, do you know what you're doing?"

Amelia was fast asleep, and what she just said was actually just her subconscious murmuring about this matter.

Damien sat on the bed and laid down slowly, but there was some distance between him and Amelia.

Amelia felt Damien's warm presence beside her and subconsciously rolled towards that warmth.

Damien was bumped by a round and rolling object into his embrace, and his expression froze.

He lowered his head and pulled Amelia out from the covers a bit, unable to help but say helplessly.

"Why can't you sleep properly?"

Amelia murmured unconsciously.

"It's cold."

Damien looked at the air conditioner. Amelia’s temperature wasn't low, she was covered with a blanket, so she couldn't possibly be cold.

However, the young girl had been snuggling up against him, and he was a normal man, moreover, a man who had tasted the sweetness of Amelia's body, so being rubbed against like this had stirred up some longing in his heart.

"Don't move around."

Even though it was just a sentence, it seemed to have made Amelia feel wronged. The little girl pouted, but surprisingly, really stopped moving.

Damien took a few deep breaths, wrapped Amelia up with the blanket, and held her in his arms, slowly closing his eyes.

Amelia lay in his embrace, sleeping soundly, but poor Mr. Kingsley couldn't fall asleep in the first half of the night, and it was only in the latter half of the night that he finally fell asleep.

Perhaps because she had slept too well last night, Amelia woke up early in the morning. She only felt that her limbs were hot and she couldn't move, so she opened her eyes.

And then she saw a handsome face at close range.

Mr. Kingsley...

She almost called out directly, but fortunately she managed to control herself. However, how did

Mr. Kingsley...

She looked around, it was the bedroom. She slept on the sofa last night, did Mr. Kingsley carry her to the bed? And... They slept together?

She moved her hand and found that it seemed like it would wake Damien up, so she quickly closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

When Damien woke up, he too was momentarily confused, but then he saw Amelia, couldn't help but smile, and lightly tapped her nose with his finger.

"You slept soundly."

Amelia's heart almost jumped out. Fortunately, her hand was inside the blanket, otherwise, she would definitely be exposed. She tightly gripped the blanket and made sure that Mr. Kingsley didn't notice that she was pretending to sleep.

Feeling the bed becoming lighter, and hearing the careful sound of Damien opening the door and leaving, she finally opened her eyes and took a deep breath.

She felt hot all over, touched her face, it was burning. Did Mr. Kingsley...touch her nose just now?

Amelia stared at the chandelier on the ceiling for a while before coming back to her senses. She mustn't think too much.

Perhaps Mr. Kingsley was just too tired to carry her back last night, which made him fall asleep on the bed.

He touched her nose in the morning because she was itchy, yes that must be it.

Even though she tried to convince herself with such thoughts, Amelia still couldn't face Damien. She was afraid of being exposed and embarrassed, so she hesitated until she felt Damien had gone to work before leaving the room.

To her surprise, as soon as she stepped out, she saw Damien sitting at the dining table, looking at his iPad, seemingly reading financial news.

When he heard the door open, he looked up.

"Awake? Hurry up and wash up, then have breakfast."

Amelia stood there and replied with an "oh," then quickly ran back to the bedroom.

There was a bathroom in the bedroom, so Amelia washed up and came out, sluggishly walking to the dining table and sitting down.

Ms. Linda brought a bowl of pumpkin soup to her.

"Amelia, did you sleep well last night? Here's some sweet pumpkin soup!"

Amelia subconsciously glanced at Damien, who didn't react much, but Ms. Linda smiled.

"Young master said you like sweet things, so I specially made this for you. And also this lotus paste bun."
