Chapter 12 Rumors are Harmful

She nervously tugged at the bedsheets beneath her, gathering courage to ask. In order not to be misunderstood, she thought she should first express her stance before inquiring about Victoria.

"Mr. Kingsley, I..."

Damien noticed her strange expression and didn't get up. He crouched in front of her, meeting her gaze.

"What's wrong?"

Amelia gripped the bedsheets tightly, realizing she didn't know how to start. After brewing her emotions for a while, she finally spoke up.

"Mr. Kingsley, will you be good to the baby in the future?" Damien was surprised, apparently not expecting Amelia to ask this. He nodded slightly.

"What father doesn't love their own child?" Amelia was moved by hearing this sentence, but there was a hint of bitterness in her heart. As a mother, she also loved her own baby very much, but she couldn't raise him.

She bit her lip lightly.

"Well... When will you marry Miss Torres? And if you have your own baby, I can take care of my baby."

Amelia said this with great determination. She knew what she would face if she raised the baby herself, but this was her baby. If Damien had other children in the future and the family no longer liked him, she would take the baby out and raise him herself.

"Miss Torres?" Damien looked confused, looking at Amelia's worried face, he gently tapped her forehead with his slender index finger.

"Who is this Miss Torres you're talking about?"

Amelia moved back slightly, holding her breath. Who did he think Miss Torres was? Did he think she didn't go on Twitter? Or did she lose internet connection?

"Victoria, aren't you... with her?"

Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Damien curling his finger and lightly tapping her forehead.

"Don't pay attention to those rumors on the internet. I have no relationship with her."

"Huh?"

Amelia looked at Damien in a daze, his words echoing in her mind.

He said he has no relationship with her, but weren't there detailed rumors on the internet?

Damien stood up, somewhat helpless.

"It's just celebrity hype. You don't have to worry about those messy things, but let me make it clear again, I don't have anyone I want to marry. Don't overthink it."

Ms. Linda's voice came from outside, and Damien suddenly reached out and rubbed Amelia's head hard before turning and leaving.

As he walked out of the bedroom, he seemed to realize what he had just done, and he looked at his hand. It still seemed to have the lingering fragrance of Amelia's youthfulness from her hair. He grimaced finding it hard to understand his own actions just now.

Meanwhile, in the room, Amelia covered her face with both hands after he left.

Oh my goodness, rumors are really harmful!

As soon as Damien entered the kitchen, he smelled a pungent spicy smell. He lifted the lid and saw a big pot of bright red fish. He frowned.

"Ms. Linda, later you can take this pot back home for my mom to eat."

"Huh?"

Ms. Linda was about to say that she had finished cooking and was going back to the mansion to get some clean clothes, but she didn't expect Damien to ask her to bring this pot of grilled fish back?

"She doesn't eat spicy food, so pack it up and take it later."

Doesn't eat spicy food?

Ms. Linda thought about what had just happened.

"Amelia clearly said she wanted to eat spicy fish, didn't she? Is her young master not familiar with other people's preferences?"

"Young master, Amelia said she wants to eat grilled fish, spicy but slightly less spicy. She must like spicy food, right?"

Damien directly took down the pot and opened the nearby soup pot, which was nutritious soup.

He took a bowl of soup and placed it down, and said to Ms. Linda.

"She can't eat it. If you don’t take it, we'll have to throw it away."

Ms. Linda dared not say anything. The young master was obviously unhappy. She felt a little sympathy for Amelia - she was being too strict.

In the end, Ms. Linda took the pot of grilled fish back to the old residence and placed it on the table.

Amelia finally forgot about the embarrassment just now and came out of the bedroom. She sat at the dining table and waited for a long time, but the grilled fish did not come. The smell of the fish made her mouth water, and she eagerly watched as Damien served one plate after another of light dishes, and finally sat across from her without serving the grilled fish.

Damien picked up two shrimp and put them in her bowl.

"Start eating."

Amelia held the chopsticks and glanced towards the kitchen.

"What about the other dishes?"

"There's none left."

Amelia stood up and was about to go to the kitchen.

While putting dishes in her bowl, Damien said,

"Ms. Linda took it away."

Amelia was stunned, feeling a bit disappointed. It had been a long time since she had eaten grilled fish, and the smell today made her crave it.

She sighed and obediently sat back down, using chopsticks to pick at her food.

Seeing her pitiful look, Damien put down his own chopsticks and asked,

"Do you really want to eat fish?"

Amelia raised her head and blinked her eyes twice, not giving up as she asked,

"Did Ms. Linda really leave me none?"

"None."

After calling her so many times, they should have some kind of relationship, right? Why didn't she save some for her?

Amelia sighed and chewed on a celery stalk, feeling bland and tasteless.

"If you want to eat fish, we can make it for dinner."

"Oh."

After dinner, Amelia stood up to clean the dishes, but Damien didn't let her. He sent her back to the bedroom for a nap while he cleaned up himself.

Amelia was a little puzzled. How could Damien, a wealthy CEO, cook and do dishes?

Her mother Judy had always said boys should focus on their careers and not hover in the kitchen. That's why both her brothers never entered the kitchen, and only she did the cooking and washing dishes. Judy said it was her responsibility.

After Damien finished cleaning the kitchen and washing his hands, he returned to the bedroom. Amelia was already asleep. He adjusted the air conditioning temperature slightly lower and gently pulled the blanket up for her.

Amelia has always been obedient when sleeping. It couldn't be helped, she had slept in the living room all her life on that one-meter bed, on which she was always afraid to move too much, for the fear of flipping over and falling off.

The girl's face had a slight blush due to sleeping, adding a touch of beauty to her serenity. He looked at her, thinking about her stuttering question earlier about when he and Miss Torres would get married. Damien couldn't help but lightly laugh and shake his head as he left.

Amelia was woken up by the ringing phone, still drowsy, she reached for her phone on the bed and answered the call.

"Amelia, ah ah ah, Amelia, I have some amazing news!"

Ashley's voice came through the phone with excitement, startling Amelia awake. She immediately opened her eyes and sat up.

"Ashley, I'm going to have a heart attack if you keep startling me like this. What happened? Why are you so excited? Did you get a signed photo from your idol?"
