Chapter 87: Concern
Chapter 87: Concern
Ellasandra's POV
My husband and I look at the direction where Mom's finger was pointing. It's our son. Rafael and I laughed when we saw how messy his face and dirty his bib were. He enjoyed the food too much. Rafael pinches his cheeks, and Mikael giggles. "I think he took after you on this part."
I pointed my finger at his face. "Hey! That's unfair!" I roared.
"At least he got your behavior, which I'm most grateful for. A beautiful face fades, but a good character is what's important. Right, little one?" Rafael says, tapping the tip of our son's nose. We all continued eating, and I saw how my family was keeping an eye on the three of us.
My husband, on the other hand, shows how genuine his actions are. No pretense at all. After dinner, my husband took care of Mikael. He will watch him as he brushes his teeth and put him to bed. I took care of my family and sent them to their respective rooms. But as I expected, they asked me to speak with them.
"I know that the three of you came here to keep an eye on our situation, but as you all can see, Mikael and I were pampered by him." The three of them sighed. Grandma and Mom held my hands.
"Are you sure he's not pretending at all?" Mom asks. I smiled. "No. He chases me for weeks and keeps on proving to me that I'm his wife, Ella Myers. I told him that I'm not her, that my name is Ellasandra not Ella, but he..."
I smiled genuinely. "... showed me that he regretted what he did and remembers some habits that I only show to him," I added.
I pinch the palms of my grandma and mom. "I am not lying. He really had changed completely. He made sure I won't regret giving him this last chance. I promise, I'll walk away as soon as he shows something that will harm me and Mikael."
Dad's eyes were telling me how worried he is, yet he chooses to trust my decision one more time. "My husband told me that you guys can stay here as long as you want. He doesn't mind if you live with us either. He doesn't mind if you guys become my security and beat his ass if he starts going back to that coward version of his."
She smiled. "As long as you're happy, we will be too, pumpkin," Grandma says.
I decided to ask what they talked about in that park. They told me what Rafael asked. "We are giving him the benefit of the doubt. After all, you want to be with him again. You are foolish, yes, but we know that this kind of happiness is not what we can give," Dad mutters.
I look at my mom. "Mom, Chris is here," I confessed. They look at each other. "Is he giving you a hard time?" Mom asks.
"No. We all know that Chris is a good person. He won't harm me or even Mikael. Like the three of you, he's keeping an eye on Rafael. He also confessed that he wants to fulfill that arrangement you and his mom once had," I respond. Mom sighed. I know she's worried.
"I'll talk to his mom and tell her to speak with Chris. If we get the chance to meet him, I'll speak with that kid myself," Mom says. I lightly nodded.
"Have some rest. I know the three of you were all tired from that flight. I have to check on Mikael and Rafael," I remarked.
"I'll go with you," Grandma says. I almost forgot that she also has separate rooms. "Good night, Mom and Dad," I utter.
I kiss their cheeks and stand up. I give my hand to my grandma. "Good night, you two," Mom says. We smiled and left their room. I opened the other room and switched on the light. "Good night, Grandma." I kiss her cheek.
"Good night, pumpkin," she responds.
I close the door after she gets in. I went to Mikael's room and checked on them. My husband places his finger on his lips. Our son was already sleeping. He closes the book and places it on the bedside table. I kiss our son's forehead. "Good night, honey," I whispered.
We left the room as quietly as we could. In our room, my husband drags me to the sofa and makes me sit on his lap. "They gave me the chance I asked from them. I know they're hesitant to give me that but choose to do so because of you. Thank you, love," he says.
"Again? You keep on telling me how thankful you are. I know you deserve it, my love," I mumbled.
He didn't say anything anymore, but his gate of emotions was staring at me with gentleness, regret, love, care, and genuine respect rolled into a beautiful expression from his pretty eyes.
"I LOVE YOU..." he whispered gently after minutes.
I held his face, smiled, and claimed his lips. I don't respond through words. I let him feel through my kiss. The love I have for him since the very beginning has grown more now that he's loving me back. He opens his lips and sucks my lower lip as he sticks his tongue inside. The kiss was passionate and needy. It carries longing and happiness that I've been waiting for for years.
The next day, I woke up, and my husband wasn't lying next to me. He left a note and said he's going to his company early to fix something. I took a quick bath and checked on Mikael. He's no longer in his room, which means my family took care of him.
In the living room, I saw them playing chess with Mikael. Yes. Chess. It was my dad's hobby that he even taught my son at the age of two. "Good morning," I greeted. "Good morning!" they greeted.
"We already have our breakfast. You should have some. Your husband cooks again before he goes to work," Grandma says.
"Then what time did he leave? It's just past eight," I stated. She shrugs her shoulder. "We don't know either," Mom remarks. I take my seat and cross my legs.
I grabbed my phone and decided to call him, but Melody called me first. "Hello, Melody? I'll be coming to the office around nine," I remarked.
"Boss, how come that you're still calm? Don't tell me you haven't read that post yet?" Melody stated. I frowned and looked at my screen.
