Natasha's health

Natasha's health
Violet’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“Now I remember where I heard Amber’s name before," I exclaimed aloud in excitement when he mentioned his maternal grandfather.
“You mean to say that you heard Amber’s name before?” He asked me in a surprised tone.
“Of course. Remember our second anniversary celebration back then?” I reminded him, excitement filling my voice.
“That mysterious gift.” He mumbled, and I exclaimed aloud.
“Exactly. Mom told me that Grandpa had a very close friend when he was in the military. And he is from the Hawthorne family in Manhattan, if I remember correctly. Mom didn’t mention anything about them being settled in Atlanta at that time.” I told him what I knew in this matter.
He took a deep breath before speaking again.
“You refused to collaborate with Amber, and now she is trying to pressure me with her grandfather’s connection with my grandfather. I underestimated her.” He mumbled, but it only made my mind wander.
In dramas nowadays, they show complicated relationships between childhood sweethearts or something like that.
“Do you remember having some sort of childhood bond with Amber?” I asked him in amusement.
“Stop running the wild horses of your brain, Violet. And stop watching those crap dramas. They are just filling st in your mind.” He scolded me, but I giggled.
“Then this Amber must have had a crush on you. Or else, why do you think that she would go to this extent only to get a business deal with you?” I teased him while flipping on my right side.
Lindsay was right. I should lie down for a while.
“You don’t need to worry about anything. I don’t care what kind of relationship she has with Grandpa. I am going to talk with my family. We can’t do business, and that’s it.” He assured me firmly.
“I know, Dom, and I trust you,” I replied to him with a wide smile but yawned in the end.
“If you are tired, then have some rest. You can finish your work later if anything is not urgent,” he urged me worriedly.
“Yeah, I am also thinking about taking a nap.” I yawned again but shot open my eyes when the door burst open.
“Mom, I brought my bag,” Natasha yelled happily while entering the room.
“What happened?” Dominic asked me worriedly in panic from the other side.
“Nothing. It’s Natasha.” I told him and held Natasha when she bounced on the bed near me.
“Dad?” She asked excitedly, and I nodded with a wide smile and handed her the phone.
She took the phone, smiling ear to ear, and sat down beside me.
I slipped down my body and took a comfortable position on the right side.
“Dad!” Natasha chirped aloud, sitting comfortably beside me.
I closed my eyes so that I could take a little rest.
But I needed to find everything about Amber Hawthorne.
I once let a woman destroy my family because I was ignorant and trusted her so much.
But I won’t let history repeat itself.

Dominic’s P.O.V.

I put down the phone with a wide smile on my lips.
I heard from the people that a daughter can easily take away all your exhaustion with one word coming out of her mouth - DADDY.
They were right. After talking to her for just a few minutes, and I was feeling so refresh.
“Who will believe that the CEO of Whitemore and Whitemore can smile so brightly?” Nicholas teased me as soon as I put the phone back on the table.
“No one, because this smile is only for my daughter.” I replied to him arrogantly, emphasizing the word “daughter” smugly because Nicholas was still single.
His smile faltered immediately, and he glared at me.
He was now in his thirties, but because of his job as a child specialist, he didn’t even get time to date someone, let alone marry and have a child.
“You don’t need to rub salt on my wounds. You got lucky that Violet looked at you back then. If…. If I had met her first…..”
“Say one more word, and I will throw you right out that window.” I threatened him coldly, pointing towards the open window on my left side.
He scoffed but raised his hands in surrender with a mocking smile.
“You came here to deliver Natasha’s latest report, and you finished your work. Now get lost.” I yelled at him, showing the way out of the door with a jerk of my chin.
“Ha….. how ungrateful you are.” He grimaced while looking up and down at me angrily.
“You think that I am that idle to come here just to deliver you the reports when I could mail them to you?” he retorted, curling up his lips in disdain.
I furrowed my brow, registering what he said.
“Is there any problem with Natasha’s health?” I asked him with a serious expression.
“Of course.” He retorted with a shrug on his shoulders.
I immediately straightened my back alarmingly.
He scoffed with a roll of his eyes first, then he pulled a serious expression.
He came inside the room when I was talking to Violet.
He had texted me before that he was coming here to deliver Natasha’s recent medical reports.
“Although she is now in better condition, she is internally weak, especially her immune system.” He explained, and I listened to him seriously.
“Ms. Madden provided me with all her previous medical reports, including whatever birth records they have. You already know that ….. that Violet had complications during childbirth and also that Natasha was on machines for more than a month after her birth. She has improved a lot over these years, but this accident threw her immune system back to the time of her birth.”
I stopped breathing while listening to him.
This was serious, and it was my fault.
“Violet is not psychologically stable to learn about Natasha’s condition. That’s why I came to discuss it with you.” He added it with the same serious tone.
“What are you implying?” I asked him in a serious tone.
He took a deep breath and looked at me with a troubled gaze. He wouldn't have mentioned Violet if this weren't serious.
"Natasha has congenital immunodeficiency. Normally, children with this disease don't have good health in their early years. You should ask Violet if Natasha fell ill easily during the change in weather. I need to do some advanced tests on Natasha to ensure that the situation is still not critical," he explained, but with every word coming out of his mouth, it was like a hammer hammering my heart.
"If everything goes okay, then we don't need to worry, for now, and with conservative treatment, she will be okay in a few years. But if not...." he paused and took a deep breath.
"She.... she may need a stem cell transplant," he added it slowly when I was about to yell at him.
