Violet’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“Of course, after your delivery, honey. Till then, you will just learn all the stuff that you already know. Victoria will still be your assistant if you want to.” He offered, his tone light and filled with comfort.
“I am so glad that you think so highly of me, Zade. I will think about this offer, but I hope you can promote Victoria to the director’s level. She is more capable than being an assistant.” I requested, looking at Victoria, who immediately looked at me with a surprised gaze.
“Consider it done, Violet. I was about to say the same thing to you.” Zade replied with a small laugh.
I was so happy that I beamed brightly.
“I will be there in two days. Will you be at home by then or still at the hospital?” he asked me the next.
“Well, I can’t say when I will be discharged but I will tell you after the doctor’s round in the evening.” I told him while looking at Victoria happily.
“Okay. Then I will wait for your call,” he replied and then we hung up.
“I told you that I am thinking about taking a break, and now you want to promote me.” Victoria complained and I laughed.
“Why do you want to take a break?” I asked her calmly while lying comfortably. I just finished my meal. So, I can’t lie down straight for a while. The bed was still inclined.
Victoria finished cleaning up and then put Natasha to sleep to take a nap.
I waited for her to answer me while watching her taking care of Natasha. I also told her what Zade and Dominic were planning to do. I was already dealing with one company, and now they wanted me to take over the position in another company.
This will be a great hassle for me in the future. With two young kids, I was not sure if I would be able to manage everything.
As an orphan, I valued family the most and wanted to give my children my utmost care and love.
Natasha also yawned aloud before closing her eyes. Her body was still healing. So, it was understandable that she was exhausted and fell asleep so quickly.
“Let’s talk about it later. For now, you need to work on this project.” She said to me while coming towards me with my laptop.
I was about to take the laptop when my phone started ringing again.
“Uhhhh.” Victoria groaned in frustration but sat down on the bed.
I smiled when I saw Dominic’s name on the screen.
“Hey,” I greeted lightly after taking the call. “Have you had your lunch?” he asked me with concern. I am sure that he just finished his meeting and called me immediately.
“Yeah, Nat fed me.” I told him, keeping that faint smile on my lips.
“You still monopolize our daughter, you know.” He complained and I laughed.
Dominic was still the same as he was before he threw me out of his life – jealous type.
“She loves you too.” I teased him and he grumbled, making me giggle again.
“Okay, I need your help on something, my love.” He asked in a serious tone when I stopped giggling.
“What is it?” I asked him calmly.
“Our company is expanding in the tech industry and we are working on building a branch in Atlanta. We were approached by five companies there, in which we shortlistedthree. I have sent all the information to your email.” He told me and I knitted my brows in confusion.
“There is a company, Amber Tech, and its CEO is Amber Hawthorne.” He added and my confusion deepened.
“I didn’t get your point here, Dom.” I interrupted him when I felt that he made no sense of what he was telling me.
He took a deep breath, which made me sense something off about this whole ordeal. “You can google her name, love, and you will know everything. Her team approached us and informed us that Amber Hawthorne wants to deal with this collaboration personally and she requested my presence. I met her a year ago in a business gala.” He replied to me and all the lines on my forehead straightened immediately.
“Don’t tell me that I am going to deal with a second Sara, Dom. I swear to God that I will pack my bag the next second I come back home and move back from where I came back.” I threatened him, feeling all worked up.
“Calm down, my love. Even Sara can’t break us up and take your place in my life. Do you think some Amber can do that?” he asked me teasingly but I growled angrily.
“Calm down, my tigress. Anger is not good for you.” He still teased me, and I hated it.
“Okay, listen to me first.” He added with a calm tone this time.
“I want you to take over this project on my behalf.” He requested and I scoffed.
“You forgot that I have no formal position in the main company, Dom, and if I am right. This project is proposed by the project team of the main company. As the CEO of Lombart’s Tech, you are the only one who can deal with this professionally.” I reminded him, trying not to be sarcastic.
“I can appoint you as the project manager and Victoria will be your assistant.” He proposed and I widened my eyes in disbelief.
First Zade, and now Dominic….
Did they forget that the doctor said I shouldn’t be stressed?
“Work is the only thing that can keep your mind occupied all the time, love. I will start the initial process, but you will take over later on.” He told me, but I didn’t find it feasible.
“We have just started working on this project, my love. It will take a minimum of three months to give this a proper shape. I will go to Atlanta after three weeks to study the market there.” He added further and I got confused again.
“Why do you need to do that?” I asked and looked at Victoria, who rolled her eyes before standing up. She was waiting for me to finish the call.
“Because I need to study it personally if you are involved. Lombart’s Tech is not that big a name in this industry. So, of course, I need to study all the pros and cons before we start working there. Meanwhile, you can do thorough research with our team in that company. Everything will be arranged near you. So, you don’t have to travel or exhaust yourself.” He sounded as if he had planned everything already.
“Let’s talk about it when you come here, Dom. I need to discuss a few things with Vic.” He replied to him while Victoria lessened the inclination.
“I am envious of that woman.” Dominic grumbled but I just smiled and cut off the call.
“We are also talking with a company about our new project, and the CEO is Amber Hawthorne.” Victoria told me and I raised my brows.
